I have a gridview with Edit and delete lini on it. I want to change the text of "delete".
I don't want to use link button because I have already implemented the code and its working fine. I just want to rename the "delete" text on grid view.
I want to rename some or all column name header of datatable. How can I done it in loop.
For example datatable has 3 column A,B,C I want to rename it 1,2,3.
I don't want to hardcord it.. Can it be done if I mention somewhere what column to replace with which one and done thru loop.
I want to freeze my Header columns when Autogeneratecolumns=True.

In one of my Web Page, there is one Modal Pop up, in which I am using Gridview Edit, Update, CancelEdit, Delete functionality.Main functionality is : If while deleting any of the Gridview Row, if only 1 row remains in Gridview (that row can be any row), then that row should not get deleted.Rest of Edit, Update, CancelEdit functionally is working fine.

problem is: When any last row is left in Gridview, its Delete button is disables that time (as per requirement and functionality). But when user clicks on Gridview "Edit" button, update section opens, and at that time "Delete" button gets Enabled, so that time user can delete the last row of Gridview which should not be done.I had fixed this problem for "Cancel" and "Update" button of Gridview using below line:
Response.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri); but unable to fix it for "Edit" button of Gridview. If Last row is left in Gridview , and user clicks on Gridview "Edit" button of that row, then at that time "Delete" button should not get "enabled" it should remain "disabled"

View 3 RepliesI have a gridview that I need to get the width of columns for after the gridview is databound. I have to have AutoGenerateColumns=true because the columns for the datatable that the gridview is bound to is not going to be fixed. The problem I'm having is the gridview columns collection is not populated when AutoGenerateColumns is true. Is there anyway I can get the width of each column after the gridview is databound? I've tried using RowDataBound and going through the tablecells but the width is 0 for every column.

I have a gridview that is bound to a SqlDataSource. I programmatically change the selectcommand of the datasource, and then allow the gridview to autogenerate the columns, headings, etc. I want to set the DataFormatString for one of the columns to "{0:d}" (shortdate) before the gridview is displayed. This would be no problem if the datasource was fixed, as I could edit the column with the wizard and set the DataFormatString of the bound column. How can I do this programmatically with my dynamic gridview?
How do I reference the delete button to add the delete confirmation box when I have both the Edit and Delete buttons as the last two columns in the Gridview control. The following code works fine without any issues when I have the delete button only:

I've a listview in which i'm binding data from objectdata source. I have a requirement where i've to allow edit/delete for only certail listviewitem which meets specific requirement. How do i dynamically set that some item can be only be edited not deleted thus only edit button/link should appear and vice-versa.
View 2 RepliesI've seen use an inline <asp:SqlDataSource> to bind data to a gridview when usin the delete or edit features. I, for a few reasons, use a button_click event (because depending on a selection from a radio button "list", there are specific fields/parameters to query the database). So there isn't a "Delete" or "Edit" feature of basic sqlclient controls (that I know of).
how to either use normal sqlclient controls with a gridview to handle the delete/edit features of a gridview, OR explain how I can use an inline sqldatasource in the codebehind to query the database with specific select statements and specific fields/parameters?
What I mean by different fields/parameters, is that there are radiobuttons, and depending on which is chosen, the query changes. So I can't just use the same select query and have the parameters just be "TextBox1.Text" or whatever (because I might not need that parameter since the query would be different).

So the when i click edit i get in edit mode and when click update the values in the row i was changing disappear but only in the gridview. When check in the Database nothing happens. The delete button not works at all, i mean when click on it only refresh the table.
