Nov 9, 2010I have 5 gridviews, all of of them have a Checkbox template field. I already did SUM of a specific column in the gridviews and displayed the Total in the gridview footers.
There is a submit button on the page as well.(this is not in a template column in the gridview)
what i do is select some rows in the gridviews by ticking the checkbox. Then I click on the submit button and the values change in the database and page refreshes with the new Total in the gridview footers. Any row that was ticked. the checkbox for that row in the gridview gets disabled. so cannot change the value again.
Now i want a way to show a popup with a SUM of those rows that are ticked recently and the SUM of already ticked and disabled rows before the values change for the ticked rows in the gridview when the submit button is clicked.

Feb 19, 2014I am new to ASP.NET and have made a register page, 'get' which on submitting redirects to another page 'pick1' displaying the data in Gridview. In each row of the Gridview there are 'View' buttons which on clicking opens a pop-up page having 2 buttons 'send mail' and 'cancel'. On clicking 'send Mail' button, i want selected row of data to be sent by email instead of the entire gridview. Right now only the entire gridview data is coming to my mail. Also i want to attach a link to the email so that it redirects to the 'pick1' page again on clicking in email. How can I do it?

value='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Name")%>'
which works in most cases except when the name has an apostrophe like O'Neil. I need to escape the ' if possible.
so i tried: value='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Name").ToString().Replace("'", " /' ")%>' and
value='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Name").ToString().Replace("'", " //' ")%>'
which doesn't work because of the final apostrophe in the notation i.e. %>' It truncates after the word e.g O'Neil Someone becomes O' which is incorrect.
This works like a charm: value='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Name").ToString().Replace("'", "'")%>' which isn't good practice as I don't want to hardcode '

State Management :: Hidden Field Value In User Control / Make The Hidden Field Save Its Value?
Mar 23, 2011I have a custom user control which contains a asp hiddenfield object. The value of this hidden field is being set using javascript and I have verified that the value is being set properly. When a postback occurs the new value is not being saved and I cannot access it in my code.
I believe the problem is because the user control is not saved in viewstate and therefore the hidden field value is not saved accross postback. How can I make the hidden field save its value? I tried accessing it from the early page cycles and still no luck.
