I have an ASP.NET project under source control (Subversion). For various reasons, I don't want to add the Bin directory or its contents to source control, so I have it svn:ignored. DLLs are loaded into here during a Visual Studio build, and I can start with a clean directory and/or delete all the contents of this directory and still have a successful build.

I've got a div on Page A.When an event happens (whatever I define, a click, whatever), I do a div.Dialog, set its properties and open itThe data inside is returned from an async .ajax call that grabs the data from a url and appends it to the div by calling div.html(data) inside the .ajax callback, so it's essentially loading a PageB by getting the data (content) and appending it to the div that's calling the dialog("open")...nothing special here I don't think.
My question: In Page B, how do I reference the dialog so I can do some things to it? For instance in Page B's content that I received back from that .ajax call and added to the div via .html(data), there is a button and when clicked I need to close the dialog.Right now my buttons are not working inside the dialog because one of them closes out the dialog and the other should redirect to a new page but both do not work now because I have no reference to the dialog that it's in to manipulate it. So I need reference so I can close the dialog via some jQuery that will reside in PageB (data).

I'm trying to remove Sharepoint in its entirety from my server (2003). I've uninstalled Sharepoint, but in SQL Server Management Studio, I still have a reference to the OfficeServers database, in the dropdown, though I can't find it anywhere in the SQL Server folder hierarchy

what is exactly Sql server compact edition? it says that I do not need a sql server to store my databases if I use that in my bin folder? so I can use my mdf databases in app_data folder. is that true?

I am using VS2005, and a newbie at table adapters, DAL & BLL. I have a single dataset (in DAL) and 2 classes (in BLL) named Class1.vb and Class2.vb.
When I try to call a function from Class1 within Class2 I get the error "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference".

I have a table called 'products'. In each table there is a column named 'description' of type ntext (sql server 2000). The description conains a ton of text and within that text there is an ip address many times. I need to replace every instance of the ip address with the actual domain name, 123.45.678.990 with http://domain.com.

I'm implementing an AJAX autocomplete feature where the user types into a textbox and the webpage generates suggestions (pretty much like how Google's search box works). I got the AJAX part to work right, but for some reason, my database query does not.Let's say I want to find "Chicago". I am trying to create strogly typed datasets for my project. When I right click on the xsd file that I need to generate a strongly typed dataset for I can't find the 'Advanced' properties as described in the below article (almost half way down)[URL]As I do not see the Advanced properties option I can't find the 'Custom Tool' property/option to set its value to 'MSDatasetGenerator'. Do I have to install some kind of patch on my VS 2005?

I've noticed as my website gets bigger and bigger, the time my laptop takes to display my page is much longer then say a new projects with minimal references. I think there are two variables at play that affect ASP.NET warm-up time:
The quantity of external references The time it takes for a worker process to new() up each instance per worker process Additional time for the WCF objects as the ServiceHost may be in an external DLL First, are those the correct variables to take into account when considering ASP.NET startup time? Next, it appears that web.config may dispatch other objects for use with certain filetypes (*.svc, *.aspx, Windows Identity Foundation (WIF), etc. ). This too may cause delays in ASP.NET.
Last, my project is created as a "web project" not a "web site". Not sure if this has an impact. Is my theory full of holes, or is there something I can do to make development on a old laptop any better?

By right clicking on my database i created a query in server explorer. But where are this query stored can't find them back. I should aspect that their is a folder query's like there is a folder tables but this isn't the case.

i've created a dataset, and created inside it a datatable and its table adapter.
when i try to reference the table adapter in a .cs class i get an error message that i'm missing some namespace:
Compiler Error Message: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'DataSet1TableAdapters' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

In my initial cycle, I put the package configuration on a shared drive. This works great for my dev box and the dev db box, as they have the drive mapped in the same way.Unfortunately, the proposed production server has E mapped elsewhere. "Easy," I thought, "I'll just change to use the UNC version of that path."When I attempt to run the package on my development box, I get an error in BIDS that says it can't copy to the deployment utility output directory.This is wrong, as I delete the file, start the package, and it magically appears in my deployment/bin directory. Itdoes, in fact, copy the file, then has this error.I changed my reference back to the mapped drive, and the build works.

I have two projects in my solution: MyApp.Domain and MyApp.WebService. MyApp.WebService is a WCF service library. I want to use some utility functions from MyApp.Domain. So in MyApp.WebService, I added a reference to MyApp.Domain. Intellisense picked it up just fine, it recognized the function I need to call. But when I build the solution, I get this error:
The type or namespace name 'Domain' does not exist in the namespace 'MyApp' (are you missing an assembly reference?) at using MyApp.Domain.Utility;
What's going wrong here?

I have downloaded Visual Web Developer 2010 Express and am trying to use LINQ. In order to do that I have added a LINQ to SQL class to the web site and have dragged tables from the database view into the LINQ designer, which worked fine.But..When I add: using System.Data.Linq;to MainPage.xaml.cs, I receive an error:

The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_EquipmentStatus_MeetEquip". The conflict occurred in database "D:MEETINGROOMAPAPP_DATADATABASE.MDF", table "dbo.EquipmentStatus", column 'Fk_MeetEquip'.
I'm getting this error when i'm trying to delete a listboxitem. It's true that an other table (EquipmentStatus) is using the primary key attached to the listboxitem, but how can i delete all the rows that causes this problem? I've seen an example using stored procedure, but i dont understand it, since i haven't really worked with it before:

DROP CONSTRAINT FK_t1id
ALTER TABLE t2
ADD CONSTRAINT FK_t1id FOREIGN KEY (t1id) REFERENCES t1 (t1id) ON DELETE

My listbox is using MeetEquip table which p-key is MeetEquip.ID, and the fk-key (which generates the problem) is fk_MeetEquip from EquipmentStatus table.

For a Table A defined in the DB like this:
A :{ id, selfId, name,} where selfId is a foreign key refered to Table A itself.
I generated the Entity automatically like this:
A :{ string id; A self; string name,} when i update the entity in gridview Edit/Update CommandField
i got the exception:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I guess maybe this is caused by:
A is to be updated, and when the EntityDataSource construct the new A, the reference "self" is invalid at that moment. I do not want to modify my DB structure and do not want to lose the self reference, The event EntityDataSource_Updating is not triggered while the exception hit. so i can not access my entity at any time. Maybe the worst idea is deal the whole Update Procedure myself. However, is there any better workaround?
