DataSource Controls :: How To Right Justify And Pad A Value Selected From A Table

I want to read the customers first name from the customer table below. Then right pad it with
blanks so that it will always have a length of 50 characters. This is not working for me and I need
help. Can someone help me? Here I create a temp table, populate it with the padded data. However
the padding does not work?

I am reading a column value from the database. The field is defined as 30 charswide. If the vale read is less than 30 chars, I need to pad it on the right side withblanks. So that the value when written to a text file will appear to be left justified.How can this be done? I know how to right justify like below. I want to Update Column of a Table where ColumnName will be DropDown.SelectedValue. For a school assignment I need to transfer excisting data from an acces database, to a new sql database.
I'm not allowed to use datasources, I may only use ADO.net objects.(data adapter, command, connection, ...)

I'm assuming I need to use a pivot table from what I've found so far. However, every one that I've seen has not had the date setup like I have.

I want to do this for 10 months... bottom record being the current month (or last month). I would also like the Date to format to January 2010 I used the above date format because that is how it is in the table. Basically, I need to know how to create the pivot table to search the table for 1/*/10, 2/*/10, etc

Anyway, I have a VB script for entering a row of data into a table by a web user. When this row of data is entered, I wish to take some of the values from the columns of the "primary" table, and have that data automatically create a new row of data in a "secondary" table. I have a table in my aspnet database. I added a bottom row "Not Selected", if the user doesn't select from a databound drop down list. This row is at the bottom, because I just added it to the table data. Is there any way to move this one row to the top of the table manually? I'm needing to get the selected rows, based on checkboxes, to insert into a different table than that that the gridview is formed from. I've created an innerjoin datasource to try and solve this but, still having problems finding something that works. I also need it to insert based upon a button click not inside the gridview as I believe otherwise would only hamper the situation more.
I have dropdownlist which items are generated using SQLDataSource. And there is a "Delete Button" next to it. I do can remove Item From Code Behind. But i believe it's more efficient to use sqldatasource delete command.
I have a dataview on a page. I am binding a list of Items, and each item has a Person object. So I get this exception "field not found in selected datasource" when I try to bind to any property on the person object.

It appears that the dataview is having problems with the person object because it will display all the properties for the Item correctly.

I have a table called 'Customer' that contains customer information. One of the fields is named "CustomerType". Each record in the 'Customer' table will contain the value of either "C", "I", or "O".
I have a form that contains a "check box list" named "Type". There are 3 values in the "check box list". The values are "C", "I", and "O". The user can select one or more of these values. I have a button on the form named "btnRunQuery.
When the user clicks on the button "btnRunQuery" I want to exectute a query that selects the records contained in the "Customer" table where the value in the field "CustomerType" equal the values the user selected in the "check box list". Example: If the user selected "C" and "O", then I want the select query to select all records that contain either "C" or "O" in the field "CustomerType".
I assume that what I need to do is to capture the values that the user selected in the "check box list" and put them in a variable. Then I need to format the "Where" statement in the query and add a "Parameters.AddWithValue" command.
