I was wondering if anyone knows of a good login stored procedure that can be freely used and features login limits and so on (basically a good one) With my limited SP knowledge, I've tried to create one myself, I haven't completed it yet as I'm not sure on how to compare the last login attempt time against the current time (it's in the comments).

P.S. I had to write this in notepad.

Forms Data Controls :: Date Time In Text Box Not Inserting Into Database Table?

Mar 13, 2010

In short, I have 3 text box fields on an .aspx page named as follows:-

TextBoxIncident
TextBoxDate
TextBoxDescription

in addition a sql datasource is on the page which is connected to the incident table with an insert query which allows the data entered into the fields to be inserted into the database...

The Textboxincident and textboxdescription fields allow the user to enter data into them...

the TextBoxDate field is a read only and the code behind file enables the text box to show the current date and time the code im using is shown below...

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load

Dim TextBoxDate As TextBox
TextBoxDate = FormView1.FindControl("TextBoxDate")
TextBoxDate.Text = DateTime.Now
End Sub

When run in browser the textboxdate field shows the current date and time...and Once the textbox incident and text box description fields have been filled in and the submit button is clicked, the fields should be bound to MS SQL table called Incident. This did work before, however it as suddenly stopped working and now displays the following message to me:-

Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime. The statement has been terminated.

DataSource Controls :: Update Another Table Automatically As Row Entered In First Table?

Mar 1, 2010

I'm sure this has been answered many times already, but I still can't seem to find exactly how to search for this issue, so apologies in advance.

Anyway, I have a VB script for entering a row of data into a table by a web user. When this row of data is entered, I wish to take some of the values from the columns of the "primary" table, and have that data automatically create a new row of data in a "secondary" table. I think I'm part of the way there, here is my script:

[code]...

"ProductsByMfr" is the "primary" table - the table that the user adds data into when the button click event is fired.

"DealerPricing" is a "secondary" table that I wish to have some of the data from the newly-entered row in ProductsByMfr copied into. Am I even close here?

DataSource Controls :: Using NewId() To Identify Current Inserting Record And Affect All Other Records In Table?

Apr 27, 2010

I've got a sp as below:

The functionality I want to achieve is that when isHomePageFeatured is checked then this record is set to 1 for that column and for all the other records in the table it is set to 0.

This is fine for update as I can use the property Id to compare against, but for the newly inserted record it doesn't yet have a propertyId so I wondered if using newID() to affect all other records would have the same affect.

C# - Entity Framework - Update Field Value To Current DB Server Time?

Dec 9, 2010

I've pulling back an entity object from a database and I need to update the date to the DB server's date/time - usually you could accomplish this by setting it with the SQL getDate() function.

How can I accomplish this in the following scenario:

var client = context.client.Where(c=>c.clientID == 1).FirstOrDefault();

// the value needs to be the value of the server's current date, i.e, getDate()... not DateTime.Now
client.someDate = <somevalue>;
context.SaveChanges();

DataSource Controls :: Replication Error Converting Date / Time From Character String

May 11, 2010

we are using transactional replication on an sql 2008 server. we try now to add a table to the replication that only consists of 1 culomn of type date and we insert the dates to the table. when we then create the replication we are getting an error on the creation of the snapshot. here is the create table with the insert dates:

USE [Product]
GO
/****** Object: Table [TimeSlices].[BaseDate] Script Date: 05/03/2010 15:52:24 ******/
IF EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.objects WHERE object_id = OBJECT_ID(N'[TimeSlices].[BaseDate]') AND type in (N'U'))
DROP TABLE [TimeSlices].[BaseDate]
GO
USE [Product]
GO
/****** Object: Table [TimeSlices].[BaseDate] Script Date: 05/03/2010 15:52:24 ******/
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
CREATE TABLE [TimeSlices].[BaseDate](
[TargetDate] [date] NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT [PK_BaseDate] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
(
[TargetDate] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
) ON [PRIMARY]
GO
INSERT INTO [TimeSlices].[BaseDate] SELECT TargetDate FROM [TimeSlices].UDF_GetTravelDateRange(GETDATE()-2 , GETDATE()+1000)
attached is the UDF:
[Code]....
this is the add article:
use [Product]
exec sp_addarticle @publication = N'Product$(QuoteNumber)', @article = N'BaseDate', @source_owner = N'TimeSlices', @source_object = N'BaseDate', @type = N'logbased', @description = null, @creation_script = null, @pre_creation_cmd = N'drop', @schema_option =
0x000000000803509F, @identityrangemanagementoption = N'manual', @destination_table = N'BaseDate', @destination_owner = N'TimeSlices', @vertical_partition = N'false', @ins_cmd = N'CALL sp_MSins_TimeSlicesBaseDate', @del_cmd = N'CALL sp_MSdel_TimeSlicesBaseDate',
@upd_cmd = N'SCALL sp_MSupd_TimeSlicesBaseDate'
GO

this is the error we get:

Message: Query for data failed

why we are getting the conversion error on the snapshot creation?

DataSource Controls :: Ignore A Date After Checking From A Set Of Records From A Table

Jun 29, 2010

I have a table with a structure and records as follows,

Record ID Applied From To

01 01/01/2010 01/01/2010 10/01/2010
02 12/03/2010 13/03/2010 15/03/2010
03 21/05/2010 22/05/2010 12/06/2010

I have a stored procedure which must be provided with a requested FROM date and TO date. If a given FROM date and TO date is in between any record set available in the table, it must return an error. For example,
According to above table, there is a request FROM 01/01/2010 TO 10/01/2010, and If the user enters 06/01/2010 as FROM date [Requested FROM date is already in between the Record ID 01 - FROM date and TO Date] , thus, it must display an error, or print a message.

DataSource Controls :: Access Time In A Column Of A Table?

Jun 25, 2010

I am able to store the current time of day in a column defined as time with the C# code as:notestable.NoteTime = DateTime.Now.TimeOfDay;The hour, minutes, seconds, and even millionth of a second is stored. But now, I need to retrieve the time and convert it into a string. I tried to use DateTime statements to accomplish this as with:

DateTime nt = notestable.NoteTime;
String FirstT = nt.Hour.ToString() + ":" + nt.Minute.ToString().PadLeft(2, '0');

Regarding the 'nt' variable, I got an error message that said: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.TimeSpan?' to 'System.DateTime'.Regarding the 'Hour' designation, I changed the definition of 'nt' to 'var' and got an error message that said: System.Nullible<System.TimeSpan>' does not contain a definition for 'Hour' and no extension method could be found.So, how do I access the time from a table and convert it into a string for display in a TextBox?
