I have an application which imports data from csv to sql server 2005. It is taking long time to import data from csv to sql server 2005. it has a timer. on tick of timer, I am checking if current rown in csv exists in database. If it exists, It is not added to sql server otherwise, It is added that row to sql server 2005. Also, In page load, It checks on each tick, whether user is logged in or not. it adds value to log file that user is logged in. How can I optimize this ?

View 5 RepliesI'm currently developing a web application using SQL Server 2005, ASP.Net MVC, ASP.Net SQL Membership Provider (for authentication and authorisation), and Linq to SQL. Everything works great and is running as planned in the development environment. However, the production environment has a SQL Server 2000 installation, and we are unable to obtain a copy of SQL Server 2000 to use in development.Upon deploying the web application to the the production environment, what options do I have for migrating the database (schema + data) from 2005 to 2000?

The BLL method is built like so

When using the BLL method to a gridview, the results of the subquery are not displayed. There are also other methods, each having a different where clause for ContactRole_ID and each is having the same issue of not displaying the subquery reult in the gridview. No error, but no data is displayed for the subquery either. Here is the templatefield of the gridview

Another item that is causing an error is in trying to update a record. Here is the DAL update method

I am trying to do a bulkcopy from an excel file which is located in a secure folder on the web server to an existing table in Sql Server. The problem is that the folder requires a user name and password which is not the current logged in user or the ASPNET user. My question is how do I logon to the folder so that I can access the Excel file.
View 2 RepliesMigrating SSIS package from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008
View 1 RepliesPrevious developers have developed a .SSISDeploymentManifest file (SQL Server 2005) to install SSIS packages which prompts a Package Installation wizard. I tried to install it on SQL Sever 2008 (it works on SQL Server 2005), but it failed with the error: "Storing or modifying packages in SQL Server requires the SSIS runtime and database to be the same version. Storing packages in earlier versions is not supported".
How do I install 2005 SSIS packages on SQL Server 2008? I have all the .dtsx files, not sure how to install them?
