I get and error when I'm trying to convert the value out of the stored procedure to the string SNAME. Error is as follows:

Above is my code. The error I'm get is, Unable to cast object of type 'System.DateTime' to type 'System.String'.
The column "To" and column "Subject" are strings and column "Receive" is DateTime. I can't made any changes in the database, so I need to write some code to handle casting a string to datetime or if statement as a work around.

Does anyone have any idea about this error at all - am I right in thinking it's MS AJAX not playing nicely with other javascript (probably jQuery UI) on the page?

I have a main page with several menu choices, one of which launches an ajax enabled window. The following pattern occurs:If I:
1) Launch site
2) Select menu choice listed on master page that is not ajax enabled
3) Select menu choice that launches ajax enabled popup.
4) close pages
All is OK.If I repeat the steps, but in step 2 I select an ajax enabled page and them launch popup, I get the following error:Message: Sys.ArgumentTypeException: Object of type 'Sys.UI._Timer' cannot be converted to type 'Sys.UI._Timer'.I have spent days on this and have been unable to solve it. If I remove the ajax ToolkitScriptManager and update panels from any of the pages and launch the popup, it works. How do I select a column with the latest "datetime" data type, in Visual Web Developer 2008, ASP.NET 3.5 ?
In the config data source WHERE option my options are greater than cookie, control, etc... but I would like to select where the datetime is the latest in the table.
I have a FormView that allows a user to register for a company event. I want to do a couple of things with this form.
1. I need to write this data to a MS SQL database
2. I need to send an email confirmation of their registration to their email.
I know how to do both of these things, but i am having trouble doing both at the same time.
It would be nice if I could do it in one click, but I coded it into two pages to try to help simplify it.
The first page allows the user to input their information into a formview and when they click the submit button, it places those answers into session variables:

The Second page confirms the users information by taking those session variables and placing them into labels:

However, after I place information into the formview on the first page, it throws up this error:
"Conversion from type 'TextBox' to type 'String' is not valid".
I'm trying to understand when to use the type property and when to use the dbtype property. I looked online but couldn't find a good article that said when and why.

I just want to ignore the time portion of the variable and only look at the Date portion. Here is the markup I am using to generate the where clause. Does anyone know how to force it to just "drop" the time in the comparison?

how would one go about converting a string to an SQL time data type? Lets say i wanted to convert @param1 to SQL time and @param2 to SQL date.

If I ran my sproc from query analyzer, I get the correct results(data is filtered by datetime), i.e:

However, if I ran it from the Asp.Net page, (ALL records are showed). Looking at the SQL Profiler I see the following call:

So I guess I am passing a string to SQL, not a datetime type. How do I fix this? Not even sure if this is the cause of my issue but worth a try.
Basically, what I did is that: I have a table in SQL database and some of data fields allow null. I built Objectdatasource through dataset. When I built update page using dataset. It generate the following error before showing the update page correctly. It seems I have issue to retrieve the null value from the database through using objectdatasource through dataset. When I am passing Stored procedure parameter it expets 'System.Data.DbType" and the Data member is declared as a string.

I have the identical code for another page with the exception of the field names and it works fine. The only thing I did differently, as far as I know, is I copied the asp and code behind from the page that works into this page and manually changed the field and table names. I don't know what the problem is. Does anyone see any problems?
