DataSource Controls :: Updating Database With Gridview Control

I am sure I am not the first to ask this question but I cannot find an answer in these or any other forums. I guess I am not wording the question right. In short I have a gridview populated but a database via an SQLDatasource. I have an Edit column in the datagrid and an updatequery in the datasource. When the Edit is click the line goes into edit mode, the user then clicks Update and I get an error. Could not find control 'DropDownList1' in ControlParameter 'Frequency'. The only complication is that there is a drop down control when the "EDIT" column is selected. The dropdownlist gets it list from another SQLDatasource. This all works fine. Here is the code snip:

I have a database linked to a calendar. I had a peice of code that retrieved dates from a database and populated the calendar. I wanted to tidy up my code using stored procedures (they seem neater & i assume there's a benefit somewhere). so i came up with this, however it's not working. The calendar displays, but it's not being populated with the database entries. The SqlCommand & SqlParameter I have working elsewhere in my code; as with the SqlDataAdapter (which also worked before i tried to conver to a storedprocedure!) but combining these three (SqlCommand, SqlParameter & SqlDataAdapter) seem to be causing me problems.It's probably something stupid but if someone could take a look and point me in the right direction,

I do have a listbox control and a button to update values of the list box with few other values of the form to the database. If i select 3 values in the listbox, it has to update the database in 3 rows (Unique for Listbox value) with the other value being the same. I use a details value for inserting values.

I've been googling for 2 days for the solution, but I couldn't find something useful. The problem is that I have GridView that is connected to the SQL database and that is how it is being populated. I added EDIT and DELETE buttons in the columns, but as far as I can see the event which handles them is empty.

Then have coded in the row editing event the ability to change the information in the row. MY ISSUE- cant take the new information changed in the row and update it in the database. I am using fileuploader control in gridview template control's edittemplate but the problem is when i press edit button fileuploader control and update other controls such as textboxes and press update button there is no value for Fileuploader control so i need the value of image control that is in itemtemplate so i pass it as a parameter.

I'm just wondering if anyone has come across a good, easy method for updating a SQL Server 2000 DB table using the edit feature in GridView. The catch here is that I need it to encrypt, send to database, then decrypt when the page calls it to be displayed. I have successfully implemented an insert method using FormView with encryption. For some reason, I just can't seem to figure out the edit/update.

I have a grid view and have five dropdownlist on it. I have edit update and cancel edit buttons on each row.
Drop down list is updating the database, but only first value in the dropdownlist even when user select second, third or any other value from the dropdownlist.

First off I'm using VS 2008 C# (3.5 Framework) and Linq2Sql for ORM. I have a gridview that represents a SQL database table. I want a users to be able to double-click the rows and get the edit items then be able to edit them and move on without them committing the changes to the database until the user clicks the save button. I know how to make the gridview work and all, my issue is that currently I'm having to keep session objects for the table data and edit them as opposed to a Linq2SQL datasource (because that seems to always automatically commit the change to the database). Also, I'm having trouble getting the changes in the edit controls to reflect in my session data objects. Does anyone have any great working examples of doing this type of work in a gridview. I know there are a lot, but I don't see any with Linq2SQL and not committing changes to the database immediately. Sorry I'm usually a back system developer, so I'm not a UI guru.

Scenario:
I am creating a custom gridview control which has a custom CheckBoxTemplateField column (deriving from TemplateField class). This template field column has custom Checkboxheadertemplate (implementing ITemplate) and CheckboxItemTemplate (also implementing ITemplate). In InstantiateIn method of both templates (header as well as Item template), I am adding a checkbox control which has Autopostback = true.
My requirement is:
I want to mark all the values in the binding column of datasource if checkbox in headertemplate is checked. I dont want to mark only rows visible on grid. I WANT TO MARK ALL ROWS IN DATASOURCE. I want to do this in _CheckedChanged event of checkbox in header template.
Problem I am facing: When I check/uncheck the checkbox in header, it postbacks. so in OnCheckedChanged event, gridview's datasource is null. Secondly, in any event of gridview, I could access only those rows of datasource for which corresponding rows are visible in gridview through Gridviewrow.DataItem property. But I want to set it for all rows in datasource.

I have a datagrid that is displaying data that is being returned from a stored procedure. That works fine. The problem is that I want to do sorting. I know that there is sorting functionality in the grid, however, I don't want to go back to the server and get a new set of data. What I want to do is just re-sort the data that is already being displayed.
Basically, I couldn't not find an easy solution to this issue. I tried updating my dataGrid to a gridView control and even that (for my particular issue) was difficult. I wound up un-doing all the changes and just adding another grid that had just the data I wanted for the requirement. If anyone else has an issue like this I would recommend taking it out of a datagrid and writing it in jQuery. I could of written a table that had the data I wanted (and fully sortable using a plug-in mentioned below) in 15 minutes compared to the hours I spent trying to jam a square peg into a round hole.
