Jan 5, 2010I have a "simple" method that takes a Linq entity containing the information I want to update. The method then creates a list of counties the information is to be updated for, and tries to update the information for each county.
So user goes in fills form out selects update All counties, and the information in the form should be updated for all the counties for the member. Here is the code.

The first pass through the foreach runs perfectly, the second time through I get an error: Cannot attach an entity that already exists.
What is best way to work around this?
I have though about putting the foreach loop in my business_logic layer, and have it pass both the newRecord and OldRecord, but figured I would ask, before making the code change.

Jul 31, 2010i am using paging technique from this tutorial [URL] and it is working fine, i used asp.net 2.0 with sql server 2005 then i upgraded to visual studio 2008, and converted the asp.net 2.0 application to 3.0 and now using sql server 2008 all the existingpages and .xsd files are working, fine, i can see data in .xsd files when i preview it but i cannot add new stored procedures it gives me an error "An unexpected error has occured" Error message:unexpected error i dont know what it is, already configured dataset (.xsd) works fine, it is just that iam unable to add stored procedures to new datasets my connection string

DataSource Controls :: Configuring ObjectDataSource Not Giving Option To Select Correct TableAdapter
Sep 16, 2010So, I have 3 table adapters in my dataset, and trying to configure the objectDataSource will not give me the option to select the correct table adapter.
I set up a temporary website to illustrate what I am talking about, along with pics, not much, just 4 pics.

Feb 13, 2011I am using a formview on main web page and the Item template displays my data correctly but I get and error when I try and link to the edit or insert templates.This happens on our remote tesing server only.On my local machine running the page on the local server in VS 2010 everything works fine.But then doesn't it always work on your local machine.I might also mention that I am compiling for asp.net 4.0.

C# - IIS Server / Webpage Giving Error Some XML ERROR?
May 25, 2010whenever i needed to test my web site, i used to press ctrl and f5. i recently installed installed iis service. kept an html page accessed it from host kept an fully developed default.aspx page in the www directory tried to access gave error of XML something....that means i can only use HTML pages, ? so what to do if i am using c# asp.net? current i do not have the computer with iis installed so i cannot post the exact error message it was something like can not render XML (then it said something like unknown line)

This means each day I need to change the "default value" to the current date to display the events of the day. I have 3 tables in sql server, I would like to query all three tables and list those pages with a certain siteid, and subpages where the subid is the pageid. how to use the GROUP BY Statement to create the menu below? Or could I use vb.net to display it for me? Something like this:

May 27, 2010I have some duplication that I need to clean up. I wrote a SQL query that is supposed to return duplicate customers who are located in the same city and zipcode.
I have 2 questions regarding it:
1. Is the query syntax correct to find duplicate records by same city and zipcode, data is being returned but it just returns the same customer a few times?
2. I only need to do the GROUP BY clause for Fullname and City however it gives an error when the other columns are left out. The error is Address, State and Zip not being in the aggregate function or in the group by clause.
Adding all the remaining columns to the GROUP BY clause works.

Event:
- EventID (PK)
- GroupID (FK)
- StartDate
Group:
- GroupID (PK)
- GroupName
What i need to do is select the last 5 events for each group using LINQ to Objects. I tried starting with:

But i'm not sure how i only take the last 5 per group.
The simple way of doing this is to get the groups and then have a property on that which returns the last 5 events but if i databind this i will have to use a nested Repeater/ListView. Ideally i would like to have a row foreach event.
