Apr 7, 2010Driving me mad on a personal project; I know I've done this before but elsewhere and don't have the code. As far as I can see, I'm setting the parameter, I'm setting its value, the connection is open, yet when I try to fill the dataset I get the error 'Procedure or function expects parameter "@test" which was not supplied'. (This is obviously a simplified test! Same error on this or the real, rather longer code though.)

Jul 19, 2010I have a stored procedure which is declared as follows: ALTER PROCEDURE dbo.thisProc @ID int,@TypeID int, @DocID int, @Section varchar(10) What I need is to be able to do this: If @ID is supplied, execute a particular if block if @ID is not supplied then move check if @TypeID is input and then execute another if block. I don't want to write multiple sql queries to deal with different inputs/page sections that a user is viewing.

Databases :: Oracle Store Procedure Does Not Return Any Thing In The Out Parameter
Oct 20, 2010I am goig to execute an oracle store procedure using C# through through ODP.NET. The store procedure executes succsfully but it does not return any value in the out parameter.
When I execute the same store procedure with the same input parameteres from within SQL*Plus. It does return values.
This is to be clearify here that in the oracle store procedure the data type for the out parameter is number and in the c# the variavle that will hold its value is Integer. I also tried using Long on the C# side but it is still not working. After the successfull execution of the store procedure the C# variable contains nulll value.

SQL Server :: An Insufficient Number Of Arguments Were Supplied For The Procedure Of Function
Feb 1, 2011I am maintaining a sql proc someone else wrote long ago. Basically I have a stored procedure which calls a function. If I try to run the stored procedure, or to make changes to it, and then run it, I am getting an error message which says "An insufficient number of arguments were supplied for the procedure of function dbo.GetRecentComment
This is very odd, because the stored procedure runs successfully when called via the C# code. Yet if it is run within query analyzer with the correct parameters, I get that error message. Here is a little peice of the stored proc which calls the function. And below that is the function which is being called. It appears that the second parameter passed to the function is optional, yet I am not sure. Anyway, here is some of the code from the proc, which calls the function.
SELECT CompletionDate, dbo.GetRecentComment(Request.RequestId) AS Comments -- This line is where the function is called FROM Request

C# Run A Procedure Without Specifying A Parameter Name?
Mar 3, 2011How can I execute a stored procedure that takes in parameters without having to specify the prameters name? The name of the parameter in the stored procedure may change from CustomerID to CustID so I don't want to have to keep changing my code.Rather than doing what is provided below where you specify the parameter name -

Jan 10, 2011Trying to modify an existing gridview in an aspx to access a db2 table on an iseries server. The iseries seems to have problems with the parameter specified in the query as @parameter giving a @parameter does not exist in table error. When specifying the gridview in VS the wizard did not recognize that the @parameter was a parm and prompt for the control etc. where it could be found. Of course there is no problem when accessing a mssql server table. Can someone help me with how to connect properly to the iseries and how to pass a parm on my query?

Mar 16, 2011Being new to using the declarative syntax of SqlDataSource I am trying to figure out a way to set the value of a parameter to a stored procedure. I have a Client_ID that is passed via the Request Object and I need to set the Client_ID before the stored procedure of the SqlDataSource is executed.
Does the stored procedure parameter have to be predefined in the ASPX markup or can it be added dynamically in the code-behind? Would anyone have an example that demonstrates the SqlDataSource markup with a stored procedure and parameter as well as setting that parameter value in code-behind?

May 17, 2010I'm converting my application from using System.Data.OracleClient to Oracle.DataAccess.Client and I've noticed some weird behavior.
I am calling a stored procedure that sets an output parameter value. Under some circumstances, a null value gets assigned to this value and I need to detect it.
Here's how I'm declaring it using ODP.net:
cmd.Parameters.Add("p_status", OracleDbType.VarChar2, 200, DBNull.Value, ParameterDirection.Output)
The old Microsoft driver for Oracle would read the value as an empty string. However, ODP is returning a value {null} (per Visual Studio's debugger), which is not equivalent to null, DBNull.Value, nor an empty string. As a result, the code doesn't branch correctly now.
