Datagrid Page Selection

so I have a data grid that is bound at runtime to some sql I wrote that gets a user list and gets those users projects..works ok.. but if you click a new page button I get the whole... you didn't handle the gdvProjectList_PageIndexChanging event so I search the web and found that I needed to added some code to the gridview declaration and then put in the c# to handle it..I did.. I don't get the error..but the gridview disappears when I hit the next page.here is the gridview

I am new to asp.net programming!!I have a datGrid Control on my web page and am able to load the data into the datagridafter loading the data to the grid , when i select a row from the grid I am loading those values into the text boxes that are present on Now what the problem , if my grid has say 20 records and having the vertical scroll to view all the 20 rows.
When i want to show the data of the 16 row ( say in this instance ) after scrolling the down for the 16 row ...after selecting the 16 row the data is getting posted to the corresponding textboxes ,but the here the data is getting scrolled to top after selection and not able to see the seleted row , for this i need to scroll down again!!!

This is my first post as a newbie to asp.net.
I am in the process of creating a "news system", you can add, edit and delete news. The news items can be entered into the SQL database and you select a category where you want the news item to go into.
What I want is when someone comes to the "Edit" screen, they have a drop down list and what that does is allows you to select a category for you to edit news items from, so rather than at present having the "Edit" page display all the news items, I want people to be able to choose a category that they can edit news items in.
So far my edit page has a datagrid with the following code:

I would like to ask if there is any control act like grid to display records.The 'datasource' will be a customed class, this dataclass has List<T>, so I will populate each element by iteration into the grid.Any control can I use to work like a grid?The number of records will around 100.This control should also allow the user to select a record.

i am creating a grid page for a first time.
I looked on some tuitorials also but i still have few confusions.
I have a few parameters on page A. After the selection of those parameters, i should pass to the new page which should have a list of fleet items. There will be few columns and at the right most, i want a tickbox whether to select that item or not.
As a default, i want each checkbox be checked but if user wants to uncheck it, they should be able to do it.

I was wondering if anyone can help me work out what the user has selected in this selection changed event?his is what I have so far:

The problem is that rblNavigation.SelectedValue is not the value that the user has selected to trigger this event. How do I get the value the user has just selected?I'm using C# and this selection event is inside my MasterPage.

I need to code a e-commerce site but about the front end I thought about building a "flowing" menu, how it works is, in the top row you have "Retail" and "Wholesale", if I move my mouse over the retail word I want in the next row, data to be loaded like the main categories if you clicked a category word, then in the 3rd row you get the sub categories then you can click on a subcategory name and then a 4rth row will appear with more subcategories, and so on and on, the reason for this is that the business has alot of sub categories going very deep down,

I have an asp.net page which has a panel with default button and update panel and dropdownlist inside the update panel. While I fill the form when I select an item with up/down keys and press enter to select it the form is being submitted. How can I fix this?

I have a parameter page which contains a hyperlink. This hyperlink opens a new window when clicked. I am passing the value of the selection made in the listbox in the new window to the previous page via session. Now, once, i again click the hyperlink in that session, i want to show the previous selection made on that hyperlink page.

I have two dropdownlists on my page that are related to one another, and are built dynamically. I did not write the original code, but I believe it is using AJAX so the whole page doesn't postback when the ddl selection changes. The first ddl is Status and the second is ContractType. Here is the code for the event handler:

I commented out the event handler since this snapshot, just to see what would happen, but when I was hitting it you can see what ex.Message was. I don't understand why it says the SelectedValue is invalid when I see the selected value is "E " and that is one of the four items in the ddl.

My dropdownlist has 10 listitems. 7/10 works fine because they populate data from the db. However, there are 3 listitems that link to external sites and they have nothing to do with the db.
I have something in mind but I am not sure if it works or not. What I have in mind is I need to write some script:
In the web page, I need to use SelectedIndexChanged even
In the code-behind, I need to write something like this:

I would like the selectedvalue of the dropdown to display additional data base on its selection in multiple text boxes.
I have tried using the DropDownList OnSelectedIndexChanged property, within a DataGrid EditiItemTemplate, but I cannot retrieve data from the selection. (AutoPostBack is "True"). I can however use a button onclick event to fire a "prre-defined" selection value.

Therefore I need to generate a unique link that only displays the data I have chosen. It seems that using querystrings in this circumstance would create rather a long link, is there an alternative way?
