May 30, 2010I am new to asp.net programming!!I have a datGrid Control on my web page and am able to load the data into the datagridafter loading the data to the grid , when i select a row from the grid I am loading those values into the text boxes that are present on Now what the problem , if my grid has say 20 records and having the vertical scroll to view all the 20 rows.
When i want to show the data of the 16 row ( say in this instance ) after scrolling the down for the 16 row ...after selecting the 16 row the data is getting posted to the corresponding textboxes ,but the here the data is getting scrolled to top after selection and not able to see the seleted row , for this i need to scroll down again!!!

I am in the process of creating a "news system", you can add, edit and delete news. The news items can be entered into the SQL database and you select a category where you want the news item to go into.
What I want is when someone comes to the "Edit" screen, they have a drop down list and what that does is allows you to select a category for you to edit news items from, so rather than at present having the "Edit" page display all the news items, I want people to be able to choose a category that they can edit news items in.
So far my edit page has a datagrid with the following code:

Sep 10, 2010Using checkboxes, can the row of record(s) be inserted into a database? I am populating a Gridview. Done. A checkbox field has been added, when the user selects one or more rows, a submit button (which is not working) needs to inserting those records into a table. The insert statment will work outside of the page but is not working using the scenario I jut described. Is this task as I have outlined doable?

Jul 18, 2010I have a datagrid which retrieves particular columns from an SQL database table. I also have a checkbox appended on to each row, so that selections can be made against rows of the users choice (i.e. select photos to add to favorites).
How can I code this (in VB.NET) so that these checkboxes are processed sequentially? I have heard an "array" might be best for this, but don't know how to code it. Essentially, I want the VB.NET to look through the datagrid list and to process only those rows with checkboxes checked, by applying some SQL based on these selections.

Feb 25, 2010I am making checkbox in datagrid, no matter what I try, I cannot get the right result from checkbox. Even I check or not check the checkbox, the result is false. It is like somehow the result is always the default value of the checkbox.

Jul 28, 2010I have to select checkboxes besed on group column values. If you see below gridview, column 3 (GroupN) has 1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2....etc (this column data is not static, will change based on page index. i.e PageIndex =2 may starts with 7,7,7,8,8,8,8,8,9,9,9 etc).
Now My question is.
1). If user selected '1', we have to store value and user must and should select another '1' (atleast two times).
2) If user selected '1', and user trying select '2'. Giving error says "Must have select one then one record in group to combine' (will not allow) and unselect '2'.
3) If user selected '1' atleast two times, and user trying select '2'. Will allow.
4) If user selected '1' atleast two times and selected '2' one time, trying to select '3'. will not allow user to select '3'.

Aug 26, 2010This morning I posted a question w.r.t Radio Buttons, but the requirement changed so I'm posing a similar question.
I want to have a checkbox in a datagrid.
Suppose I click on one of the checkboxes and then realize i need to click on another, the screen has to automatically uncheck the previously clicked checkbox and then check the newly clicked checkbox.
In other words I need to clear previously checked checkboxes and check the recently clicked checkbox.
Also, I need to update a label in the page with a value associated with the row of the checked checkbox.
I should not be using a javascript to do this.

Now what i am trying to do is when an user clickes on com1 and types the name of the employee tab2 tab 3 and tab 4 should be hidden. if com2 is clicked tab1 and tab3, ta4 shoud be hidden.etc

Now, i want to control the selection of the items. Say some thing like
1. "User should be allowed to check only say 5 items with same resourceId" using javascript
2. And in total he should select only 20 items (max 5 items for same resource id and max 15 items for the remaining)
How can we control this?
