Jun 29, 2010I'm trying to run the performance wizard on an ASP.Net website. However, whenever I try to start it I get the following error.
"The website contains unexpected information or you do not have permission to access the metabase. You must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer to access the IIS matabase. Therefore, you cannot create or open a local IIS website. If you have Read, Write, and Modify Permissions for the folder where the files are located, you can create a file system website that points to the folder in order to proceed"
I am an Administrator on my machine. Tried googling but came up with nothing. Anyone run it before and know how to deal with it?

May 21, 2010My company has a server running Windows 2003, IIS 6.0, Web Deployment tool 1.1. I also have a development machine running Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I can't get the Publish command to work (gives me "can't contact MSDEPLOYAGENTSERVICE" even though I know it's running), so a couple days ago I built a publish package, copied it over, and ran it, which worked.oday I thought WebDeploy was having problems (turned out the problem was between the keyboard and the chair) so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the WPI. Now when I try to run the package I get

Mar 11, 2010I am trying to add a web reference to my project in Visual Studio 2010 that points to PayPal's Sandbox service.

Although VS finds it using the Add Web Reference dialog box, when I press the Add Reference button I get the following error and it fails:
Failed to add Web Reference 'com.paypal.sandbox.www'.
Error: Access to the path 'C:Documents and SettingsMyNameLocal SettingsTempPayPalSvc.wsdl' is denied.
Even if I attempt this using http instead of https it still fails with the same error.

When I tried to look in the event log I found this error.
Failed to execute request because the App-Domain could not be created. Error: 0x80070005 Access is denied.
The site is running on the asp.net 2.0. The parent site is running fine including other subdomains. It is only this subdomain that is having problem and I think I have all the necessary permissions.

The condition is like this:
1 I make my website connect to a remote sql server.
2 This sql server makes only access to a count, such as 'sa' and its password is 'sapw'
3 I write the connect string in web.config like this :

Nov 3, 2010I am receiving the following error on one of the web servers I support:

This is completely preventing access to the web site. Every attempt to access the website results in one of those error messages appearing in the event viewer. If I enable custom error pages on the website, I can see that same error.I have not been able to find any information whatsoever on what could be causing this.

Apr 6, 2010I am runnign the SQL 2005 with Membership structure and two web-applications on the same server box. Each web application uses its own Application Name in aspnet_Applications table. There are two application names.
The users from web-app1 could not login to web-app2. Each web-apps uses different Application Pool. Each providers section of Membersip use correct applicationName from aspnet_Applications. The first application is working correct.
The problem is that sometimes the users could not login to web-application 2 during day. I get error Event code: 4006 Event message: Membership credential verification failed. The users start to login again after I Recycle - Stop - Start Application Pool of this web application.

IIS 6.0 .NET framework 2.0 with latest service pack I gave IIS_WPG write/modify access to the folder where MS-Access database is located and database but at the time of insert an error pop-up. I need to install in the Server or settings in the IIS to recognize my MS-Access db is it some office runtime that I am missing. (BTW I am using OLEDB connection string in my C# )

I can retrieve data off of it with no problem but when I try to insert is when it fails I thought the problem was Access Rights but I do not think is the case.

First, I create failed request tracing for "all content, error codes 400-999" because want to save all errors.
Then, I try to create a trace for "all content, time: 5 seconds" because I want to trace all "long" requests. However, IIS 7 gives me an error: "A failed request trace for this content already exists".How can I add this second trace for all content that takes > 5 seconds?
IIS Metabase Path For Aspnet_compiler In IIS7?
Feb 1, 2011I am trying to use aspnet_compiler via the command line to build and publish a web application that is running on the IIS7 Default Web Site. I am struggling with finding the correct syntax of the -m argument for specifying the IIS metabase path.
All the documentation refers to IIS6 metabase paths, which are of the format "LM/W3SVC/1/Root". I came across this information, which indicates the IIS7 metabase path should look like "MACHINE/WEBROOT/APPHOST/Default Web Site."
The actual command then looks like this:
aspnet_compiler -nologo -m "MACHINE/WEBROOT/APPHOST/Default Web Site/" \productionwebserverinetpubwebsitefolder
This, however, results in the following error: error 1002: 'MACHINE/WEBROOT/APPHOST/Default Web Site/' is not a well formed IIS metabase path.
My default website is called "Default Web Site". I have also explored using the syntax of specifying the virtual path and physical path instead of the metabase path, for example:
aspnet_compiler -nologo -v / -p ".."
(this command file exists in a sub-folder of the website project folder)
This results in the following error: error ASPCONFIG: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

Nothing happens, no error, no crash, it just does not log in. Setting the privacy to medium high resolves the problem. As far as I am aware the website does not use cookies.Any idea what the problem could be? Can this be resolved to enable users to log in regardless of their privacy settings?

Configuration :: 2.0 Website Failed In IIS Windows Server 2003 R2
Mar 30, 2011when I deploy a website in IIS Windows Server 2003 R2 . First time deploy, it seemed no problem at all (fyi, the one who deploy for the first time is not me, but my friend) but after one or two days this problem occur. I can't browse from IIS and Internet Explorer. In Internet Explorer the page display:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the website." The worse, no error log data ever produced in Application category in Event Viewer.
I've tried change the address from localhost to 127.0.0.1 but the response is still the same. I even tried access just localhost alone. It should display the default homepage from IIS but the response is still the same too. I've checked IIS' Web Service Extension, the Active Server Pages and ASP.NET 2.0 are set to allowed. I also have tried make a virtual directory with just index.html inside and the response is still the same.
FYI: The server seems run in 64 bit (HP Proliant server). The website I build only used ASP.NET Ajax 1.0 and Crystal Report for VS 2005. From the server, I can access the internet but not the localhost.
PHP Login Form On Local Website To Access Remote Website?
Jul 15, 2010I want to have a PHP login form on my website. When the user enters a username and password and clicks submit, they should be directed to a remote website logged in (therefore skipping the login form on the remote site).
As mentioned in the title, the remote site is built using ASP.NET.

A) :
1.go to my website [URL]
2.login as username: Teacher1 password: 123456 (Note that you have been logged in successfully)
3. go to the link in the upper right corner where it says (Teacher Page)
4. booooom!
B):
1. go to the website and create an account as a "Teacher"
2. do steps 2 to 4 from above and same problem occurs
