Dec 31, 2010is there any way to fill a controll type System.Web.UI.WebControls.Menu with data from database if i use ASP.Net MVC?
If yes how can i do this?

I want to fill it with an anonymous type, i.e.:
gridView.DataSource = new { Foo = 1, Bar = "2" };
gridVeew.DataBind();
But getting next error:
Data source is an invalid type. It
must be either an IListSource,
IEnumerable, or IDataSource.
How can I do what I want?

Aug 15, 2010i've been learning MVC now for 2 days, but I still can't wrap my head around it. ASP.NET MVC feels like learning Mandrin Chinese. So, I understand Classic ASP.NET and using an N-Tier archetucture, but how would you apply that to MVC? I comprehend View (the UI), Controller (the pipeline to the Model and View), and the Model (where your code goes), but how would you apply an N-tier to MVC? Or, a replica of the DAL? Yeah, it might be a stupid question, but I am not understanding the Framework. Does anyone have an article(s) that cleared your understanding of MVC? Maybe I need to buy a book....

Jul 28, 2010I would like to restrict what they see in the file upload dialog, which is set to "All Files" by default. I understand how to validate that they only uploaded a certain file type, that is not the question here. I would just like to know how to default the file type in the file selection dialog.
Is there any way to change this to "PNG only" or "*.png"?This is using AsyncFileUpload in the ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit.

I have another table called LOGIN with fields(id,DOB,password) example values(1001,24101989,madhukumar)
What i want is , if i login using the LOGIN table ,it check the id and permission in the ROLE table , if the permission is 'hr' it enable to access the menu , or if the permission is any other it just print the error message ("no permission")
Note: menu is placed in master page , but login is not in the master page ...

the problem is:
I have a .licx file in my rootfolder.
I am getting the error:
Error 53 Unable to resolve type ' <add type="TabStrip" version="7.0" />' C:inetpubwwwrootCrop_ApplicationCrop_Applicationeo_web.licx 7 Crop_Application
,which I get for all the types that are in the xml file(i just gave one of them).
A friend told me that I have to add the type .licx in the MIME type in the IIS .
The problem is that I find the MIME type, I add the extension type .licx but I do not know the MIME type for .licx
