There are 5 views in a multiview. Each view has varies controls, such as text boxes, dropdown lists, check boxes.
Every time, once user move to next customer, I want to clear all data within 5 views and then start over.
Is there a easy to do it?

Feb 3, 2011I am using a MultiView control inside a FormView to break my form into more manageable sections for the end-user. I am trying to make it so that each time the Next button is clicked, the entire form is validated and a list of the fields that have not yet been completed show up in the Validation Summary.
I would like my users to be able to continue through the MultiView 'wizard' even if they haven't completed all the fields -- they should be able to come back to them later. But I would like the ValidationSummary to display the fields they've not completed that are required as a reminder of what to come back to if possible.
I've tried playing around with Page.IsValid with no success.

Apr 14, 2010If I have a reference in my project to System.Data.Linq in an MVC application compiled against 3.5 I can use Linq to SQL generated entity objects in my views and access the foreign key entity sets. If I try and do the same thing in 4.0 I get the error messageCompiler Error Message: CS0012: The type 'System.Data.Linq.EntitySet`1<T0>' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. I want to call a partial view that shows the products information with a GUID passed to the partial view.
I guess you would call it calling a sub but have that sub in a view that i can strongly wire up.
What i need is tutorials for passing a value to the partial view.
Like if i had pictures and i wanted to call a ascx that would show the picture. and have many to a page.
An example about pictures wired into a entities database would rock.....

Jan 21, 2010I have a download page with a linkbutton that users use to download files. The event handler of the linkbutton sets up the Response type for the user to see the download dialog and chose to save it. I need to find out accurately how many times the file has been downloaded. If I increment a counter in the link button's event handler, I'd assume it wouldn't be accurate as the user may chose to click on Cancel in the download dialog.

We are storing the numbers in a database and when we retrieve the records from the database, we will reverse hash and convert the number back to a string

As you might have guessed - this is not an area that I am familiar with. I researched the overridable System.Object.GetHashCode() method, but Microsoft warns that there is little guarantee that the default implementation of GetHashCode() avoids collisions.
So I am left stuck. I would like to create an algorithm, but I have no idea where to start.
Also, the function should accept unicode characters - in the event the company decides to internationalize.

Is it possible to reload the data in one of those partial views if an action was triggered in another? For example, one partial view has a jqGrid and I want to refresh the data in another partial view when a user selects a new row in this grid. Is there a code example for this scenario (in C#) that I can look at to see what am I doing wrong? May 4, 2010I'm serving up PDFs from a SQL db and presenting them in the browser. I'm trying to figure out a way to embed a number in the PDF dynamically so that the recordID for that PDFs SQL record is available to me when the user submits the XML form data. The user hits the submit button on the form and the form submits its XML data to my submission page. If there is some way of changing the submission URL on the fly then I could do a query string to pass my self the recordID. I'm not generating the PDF in code, its being created by hand and then uploaded to my site.EditUser is given a link someServer.com/pdfLink.aspx?formID=5 they go there and that pages pulls a PDF from the DB and displays it. This pulls up acrobat in browser full size so my aspx page isn't in control of submitting the completed form, Acrobat is. The user fills out the form and hits the submit button in the form. This submit button was set up at form design time to point to another page someSite.com/pdfSubmit.aspx The submit button posts the XML data to that page and I can process it. I need the recordID in the query string for the someSite.com/pdfSubmit.aspx page. To do this I would need to modify the PDF to either add the recordID and query string to the submit button's submit URL, or embed it in the PDF else ware. The big question is how do I modify the PDF just before I display it via someServer.com/pdfLink.aspx?formID=5 to do either of these two options.
