I have an accessdatasource with multiple columns, one column I use it to populate a dropdownlist. Can I use the data from other columns to insert into a table, insert being done in the aspx.vb page, without creating gridview etc.
Is it possible to make a detailsview one column visible= false and still be able to evaluate its contents?

i need to add a hyperlink to each gridview cell and when that cell is clicked pass the header text through the querystring to another page. I can access the cells value ok and pass that through but i cannot seem to access the cells column header text. when i response.write out a count of the gridview.columns it brings back 2 which is the template fields but not the dynamic fields i have tried this on the rowdatbound, rowcreated, page_load and page_unload. the count should be 12 its like it cannot find the dynamic columns at all. ?

In a gridview i have a TemplateField containing a radioButtonList. I have around 100 rows with data and each radiobuttonlist has around 5 options. I would like to have the user to select an option from the radiobuttonList and then in my button click event to record the selected value of the radiobuttonlist for each row. My problem is: How to retrieve data from a Querystring which contains data from two concatenated SQL columns? I want to selectively retrieve only the first three digits in the ddl2 Querystring which will give me the LATA number.

I want to get data from the database and display it in gridview. The gridview should be editable. Meaning the user can add, edit and delete items/rows in the gridview. Everytime the user adds/updates/deletes an item, the gridview is also updated. However, these changes will only be saved to the database once the Save button is clicked.

The data which is displayed is only the one that was inserted with one selected item from the checkboxlist. The following code is the page I'm using to try to retrieve the data from the database. View 2 RepliesI've created a data bound gridview to a SQL database. I am retrieving the data with a simple select for a specific date, and then populating my gridview. The one caveat is that I have added a second header row to my gridview, and then I am hiding parts of another row that was retrieved to only populate the main header row. I believe that this is causing my issue. However, when I step through the code it appears that my ids are proper (the first row has an id of 0, etc....). However, when I check the checkbox in row 4, the actual data from row 3 is being pulled out of the gridview.

I have a gridview, where I set the columns based on the columns in a datatable. I have a class that implements ITemplate, and creates a textbox template field. Everything works good, I can display my grid with the correct columns and headers. The probem comes up when I click a Save button, to save the user input. Of course the page postbacks, and I re-create the columns on PageInit. However, all the data the user entered is gone.
