I'm using code to convert items in a Datagrid row from UPPERCASE to Title Case. It works good, but the problem is if it comes across a hyperlink field, it will put in a blank value. Not sure why its doing this, but here is the code below. Wondered if any one has came across this problem and managed to solve it?
The code:
aspx page:
<asp:GridView ID="SectionsGridLevel1" AutoGenerateColumns="False" onrowdatabound="SectionsGridLevel1_RowDataBound" emptydatatext="No data available." runat="server">
<Columns>
<asp:hyperlinkfield headertext="Section - click to view sub-sections" datatextfield="SectName" datanavigateurlformatstring="BrowseSections2.aspx?type=sect&list=1&level=2§ion={0}" datanavigateurlfields="SectID" />
<asp:hyperlinkfield headertext="View" Text="View All" datanavigateurlformatstring="BrowseSections2.aspx?list=1§ion={0}" datanavigateurlfields="SectID" />

I created a gridview that is bound with an SQL datasource - I added a gridview button column. I need to update/insert 'Y' on a specific cell in the row when I press the button
This is my gridview code
[code]....
The button column I have says delete on it but it shouldn't really delete it - Once I press the button it puts a 'Y' on a column that is filtered out by my sql statement in the sql datasource

I have an email contact form that I have successfully populated the account users Username and email address into text boxes
I also use a text box and session variables to send parameters to a stored procedure and return a single row result in a form view.
The thing I am having an incredibly hard time figuring out is how to populate a single textbox with the data from any of those fields. or the whole control as a single summary.
Just for starters I am actually an IT Manager and NOT a coder so this is entirely a hack job if there ever was one...
here is my aspx code
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" MasterPageFile="~/RMSWeb.master" CodeFile="Service2.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %>

I think it's very simple but i just don't see it at this point: I have a detailsview that's bound to a sqldatasource. I want to have access to the data in a field in the table thats not currenty bound/used in the detailsview. I have a table which has one collumn that contains a username of the user who submitted the record. This field is not bound in the detailsview.I want to have the detailsview show delete/edit buttons only if the current identity matches the value in this collumn of the currently bound record. But i don't want to show this field as a row in the detailsview. I thought maybe i can access this field in the databound event of the dview and create/show the buttons here. But how can a access this data if it's not used in a dview field? I also tried creating a templatefield for this field and set it to visible = false. But then i also can't access the data it seems.

I'm trying to add an DropDownList to a DetailsView by code, because i'm writing a solution that let's the user select an table and view your records and edit them, some of theese tables, have a foreign key column and the user must have to select some item in the list.
Below is my sample code:
[Code]....
the code above is working correctly, when the user click in the buttons New or Edit , the DetailsView opens correctly, showing the DropDownlist, but when the user click in the buttons update or insert , an error occurs, the viewState cannot be loaded:
Failed to load viewstate. The control tree which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when controls are added dynamically, the controls added during a post must match the type and position of the controls added during the initial request.

I have a stored procedure that returns 3 tables within the single recordset it returns. If I set a SqlDataSource to get data from this procedure, it works, but it only returns the first table. I want to have a GridView display the data from the 2nd or 3rd table using a SqlDataSource, but I can't figure out how to specify a particular table.
While there are some posts discussing this out there, I can't get a definitive answer about whether or not this is even possible (?). In a worst-case scenario, I can create another SP that only returns the 3rd table - but that creates a little maintenance headache that I would prefer to avoid.

This is just one thing i want to do with my controls in my datalist, so i don't want to in my aspx file like this:
<asp:CheckBox ID="CheckBox1" runat="server" Visible='<%# if(Eval("isFolder")="1","false","true") %>' />
Because i have quite a lot of things i would like to do in the code behind when i'm getting my files..
Is it possible somehow to achieve this without having to put servercode in my aspx file?

Let me try to explain my situation. I have a database table which contains, among other things, a boolean column called PermissionSlipRequired. I have a repeater on my page, and before each row in the database is shown in the repeater, I want to use my code behind to check the value of PermissionSlipRequired. Based on whether the value of PermissionSlipRequired is true or false, I want to change the text of a literal within the repeater. That's a real mouthful; hopefully some markup and code will clarify. Here's my repeater:
[Code]....
Here is what I've been able to come up with for my code behind. Needless to say, this code doesn't work.

I have some commented out as I am working one field at a time. The working fields are textboxes and the non working ones are dropdown lists. But I think it may be the field that the list is drawing from? Not sure.

I am making a website. It searches some data from database. When It fetch 1000 records, it runs very softly but when it fetches more then 10000 records then it doesn't display data for second page and I get a error that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
I also want to share the functionality of the site. It display only 10 records in the page and rest of data will be kept on the object. When user click on next page then it fetches data from that object only. It doesn't go back to database.
It workds nicely when it fetches 1000 records but it gives error when it fetches more then 10000 records.

I have a Formview where students put their information in such as name, address, etc. The text boxes are bound to my database, so once they are done, they choose to update, and my database is updated with their information. My problem is that the students often use All Caps to enter in their information.
I think I need the StrConv somehow, but I just can't seem to get this done. I've seen where it could be done with text boxes, but not when they were in a Formview using parameters.
