Forms Data Controls :: Checkboxes In Datagrid / Update A Label In The Page With A Value Associated With The Row Of The Checked Checkbox

This morning I posted a question w.r.t Radio Buttons, but the requirement changed so I'm posing a similar question.
I want to have a checkbox in a datagrid.
Suppose I click on one of the checkboxes and then realize i need to click on another, the screen has to automatically uncheck the previously clicked checkbox and then check the newly clicked checkbox.
In other words I need to clear previously checked checkboxes and check the recently clicked checkbox.
Also, I need to update a label in the page with a value associated with the row of the checked checkbox.
I should not be using a javascript to do this.

I was trying to find out if there are any check boxes checked in the datagrid, if non of them is checked it should show me an alert to select atleast one.
My problem starts when there is paging in datagrid...
not able to check the entire datagrid at a time in itemDataBound event for the checked check boxes.

I have a label and a checkbox that reside in a datagrid. When the checkbox is checked (OnCheckedChanged), I would like to send the Checkbox value and the label.text to a method. I don't have a way of retrieving the values. I've seen a lot about retrieving all of the values from a datagrid, (myDataGrid.Items), but am not sure how to get the value for a specific row in the datagrid.

in my project i have a gridview gv with 5 rows with check boxes(templatefield).. and 1 label.. my problem is when i check 1st row the row value display in label, if i select 1st row & 2nd row checked the two values display in same label with comma seperation, if i uncheck 2nd row, the row value remove from label and only 1st row will be display..if i select all rows all values are display in label with comma seperation.

I have created a popup window with the modalpopupextender. Inside the popup window is an Updatepanel that contains an OK button, a Search Button, a databound Datagrid and some checkboxes.
The problem is that when i press the OK button, i want to find the rows in the datagrid that have been checked with the checkboxes.... but i can't find the datagrid on the page! Any suggestions to how i can find the datagrid in the updatepanel?

I have a BING MAP in web app. which is of JavaScript or Jquery. And also I have a DataGrid in same page. Data Grid is populated with Address ROWS. A check box is also there as ItemTemplate for DataGrid.
Now after dataGrid binded with data source, and when user clicks on check box, that particular address should show on BING MAP.
My question is,
How to invoke a JavaScript function when user checks checkbox in data grid. Which data Grid events suits my scenario? Also can I do this on client side without going to server side and call JS function?

everything you see sbove is working perfectly fine...in the sense that when I click one of the checkboxes, the page_load fires, the gridItemDataBound fires on DataBind() and when all is done, the checkbox retains the value that the user clicked the checkbox.
With all this exact same code converted to C#....the events all fire in the same order, but the checkbox selected value always clears...any thoughts??

I have situation where I have to show checked CheckBox in a GridView. I have three tables
1) Menu Items ( Fields: menuID, menuName, menuLink, .....)
2) User Types (Fields: userTypeID, userTypeName, ...)
3) User Menus (Field: menuID, userTypeID )

I've got a typed dataset that populates programmatically based upon dropdown selections from the user, and then is bound to a datagrid. One of the cols is a bit type (indicating whether or not that record is "active"). I would like that datagrid col to be exposed to the user as a bunch of checkboxes, which the user could turn on and off as needed, and then update the entire recordset according upon clicking Submit.
Is converting a dg column into checkboxes a straightforward thing to do?

I have followed an online Microsoft tutorial that walks through building a Northwind.xsd that includes ProductsTableAdapter and a few other such table adapters (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa581776.aspx).
Question: I now see a update column at the start of each row of the datagrid for AllProducts page. When I click update on a row and change the value of one of the non-primary fields (ex. Productname) and press Update, I get the following error:
The GridView 'GridView1' fired event RowUpdating which wasn't handled. How do I implement this event handler in VB? I know that when I implement using SQLConnection and use templatefields to bind each column I don't need to implement each event handler.
