Now when I click on the arrow of the combobox, the list is show somewhere else on the page and not where it should be.
It seems the list is not positioned relative to the textbox.
User Control Displaying In Wrong Place?
Aug 24, 2010I'm trying to include a user control in an aspx page, it works fine, but my control does position itself where I want it and always appears at the very top of the page. Could it have something to do with the masterpage? I've tried registering the user control in the master page, but I don't know how to reference it in the content page.
In my Default.aspx page I register my usercontrol at the top:

Apr 6, 2010I've just downloaded the latest Ajax libraries. I have a web site with dozens of ComboBoxes that worked fine until intalling the new libraries. Now the combobox dropdown lists, show behind the other ComboBoxes on the page.There was also an issue where the dropdown lists didn't display in the proper position, the div they are contained in is set to Position:Relative, I had to add position:absolute ! important along with coordinates of coarse to the css .WindowsStyle ul

State Management :: Data Being Saved To Wrong Table In Wrong Instance Of Sqlserver Of Wrong Database?
Aug 1, 2010I have a weird thing happening. I have two identical databases installed on one virtual machine but under two different instances of SQLServer. For some reason, periodically when saving from one it will save to the other instead. Using debug, I have verified that the connection string is correct and when the item saves, it still saves to the wrong database.I use session variable, and am of the belief that it might have something to do with it...and t hat when I go from one to the other it is still getting the connection string form the other for some reason.To make sure that it isn't a problem, I make sure that I completely close out one database before opening the other in a new IE window.I assume that when I completely close out an internet explorer window that it abandons all session states. Is that true?

Postback Before Page Fully Loaded Cause Dropdownlist To Have The Wrong SelectedValue?
Oct 18, 2010We were having occasional reports where the value of a set of DropDownBoxs in a GridView would be reset to the first value item in the list.
We finally tracked it down to a timing issue where a user would click Save before the page finished rendering/loading the data, and we are able to repro it on the production server but not locally because the page loads too quickly.
How would we go about detecting this on the server side to know the data returned is invalid or otherwise stop from setting data that the user didn't set?

Sep 27, 2010I have a table that displays a user control on each row. The user controls are strongly typed to a viewmodel which contains DataAnnotation style validation. If one of the rows has invalid data entered (lets say the 3rd row) the data annotation validates display agains the first row/user control.How do I get the data annotation to show against the relevant user control?

Aug 4, 2010I have combobox & button in my webpage, if i select a value from the combobox, then i click the button the page is refreshing, combobox value is changing.For Example Combobox value: 1, 2, 3, 4 .....If i selected 2 then i press the button, webpage is refreshing, combobox values is display from: 1, 2, 3, 4....Combobox should display 2Why combobox is displaying a selected value when i press the button.

The Above code is working, but if i select the value 2 from the combobox, then i press the button textbox should display ravi, but textbox is displaying Raja, and also combobox also refreshing, combobox is not displaying 1 instead of 2.

On running the application, i see the ComboBox but none of the list items are visible. Clicking on the dropdown button does not show anything also. Accessing the SelectedItem property shows that the first item is selected.

Nov 22, 2010I've been trying to figure out the issue and knowone seemd to know. I put a dropdown on my page and when I view it from my server, it works fine. When I tell it to go and get it's values from a DB I can no longer see it on the page when I view it from the server. Here's the code I have for it:

Aug 1, 2010I have a very weird thing happening. I have two databases that have exactly the same tables but different database names on the same virtual machine, but in different instances of SQL Server. For some reason, when using one of them, it will save to the other. In debug, looking at my connection string..I have verified that it is correct, yet when I allow the save, I look in the table and it isn't there, it is in the other database that is in a table with a completely different name and in a different instance of SQL Server.

Feb 11, 2010 I'm working with a series of 4 dropdownlists. The First and Third seem to be passing correct values to the database. The second and fourth pass correct value from 0 to 9 but will not pass two digit values. If selected value is 23 the value 1 is sent to database. The four dropdownlists are entered sequentially with other data and sent to database by submit button. All other fields seem to be updating correctly.
The data fields which will not update with two digits are integers. Value 0 to 9 works, 10 to 31 do not. I'm pretty new at this and totally stumped.

Forms Data Controls :: Gridview Edits Wrong Row?
Jan 11, 2011I have a page with a gridview. It has a select command and an edit command which are both SPs. I added a standard "Edit, Update, Cancel" CommandField to the gridview so that I can edit. The edit and update are working fine. However, I have found that if the underlying data changes after I have loaded the page and before I hit "Edit", and this change causes the row I'm going to edit to be in a different row than before, the gridview will open the wrong row for editing.
For example, say the gridview is sorted by the a field called ID, and currently there are rows in the DB with ID of 2,4,6 and 8. I load the page and see those 4 records. While I'm looking, someone adds a record with ID of 1. When I click Edit on the row with ID = 4, I will actually end up editing the record with ID 2. Basically, i'm clicking on Edit in the second row, and I end up editing the record in the 2nd row, but the 2nd row is now a different record than before.
It seems like there HAS to be a way to fix this, otherwise editing in the gridview seems exceptionally dangerous. Is there any easy way to handle this, to make sure the user is editing the row they think they are?
