Forms Data Controls :: Control - Same Name In Different Formviews?

1. Can I have two different controls with the same name in two different formviews on the same page?
I have text boxes named the same in a few different formviews on one web page.
2. How do I autopopulate the rest of these text boxes once a value is entered in the first text box. I want the same value that was entered in the first to be automatically entered into other fields in different formviews..(same page)
The variable "formView" is set to null. Can the FindControl method not find nested items? If not, what is the proper way of getting the values from these fields (in the Child/Nested FormView)?
I have tried several ways but just cannot figure our how to populate some formviews with the data I have brought up in a gridview.
Here is my code so far. I just showing the code behind because my gridview and forms are not a problem. Where I am stuck is at the GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged at the bottom of the code.

I have two formviews and two datasources on a page.
The first shows data from datasource 1 in various labels.
The second shows only a 'new' button to switch to insert mode.
On the seconds insertmode, id like the data in textbox1 to be already filled with data shown in the first formviews label1 (or [id] from sqldatasource1 if thats better?)
I have a very complex page with 11 formviews, 1 dropdownlist, and 11 sqlDataSources.I have several issues
Page: This page controls my website users and their info. There are 2 different users with 3 different permissions; users - 1 Primary(account Creator), and the rest; Permissions - View, Edit(Manage), Create/Delete(Author)
Each Formview controls one column in the table.
1st. After Permissions are read, the add, delete buttons are to be disabled if no permission. If the User selected is the PrimaryUser the delete button is disabled. On Page load, the delete button is enabled even though the displayed user is the Primary, when you select another user, then select the primary again, the delete button is disabled, but when you select another user the delete button is still disabled. This should not be!
2nd. I then added a check to see if there was one or more locations, and if there is only one, then disable the edit button that allows a user to assign a user to a specific location. example: if there are 3 locations, you may assign a user to that office location, but if there is only one location, there is no need. I try to disable the edit button in formview, but I get "object reference not set to instance" which is total cr#$ because the button is there in the form.
3rd. When a page loads and all of your sqlDataSources have a Select controlParameter that is determined by a DropDownList, how is the initial record determined other than it is the first record?No matter how I work my code, these issues do not work, and it is very frustrating and holding my project back. I have been working on thes for a week.
I have a Customer object that has two address ID fields (one for HomeAddress and one for WorkAddress)
I am loading the Address Objects by using Include="HomeAddress, WorkAddress" and then binding to the properties using the Navigation Property on the Customer Entity
Can I use just one FormView for doing the Insert/Updates and binding it to an EntityDataSource or would I have to do all the Inserting/Updating manually?
I want to dynamically create controls on a web page. Is this possible and how do I approach this. I want the 'user' to have control over how many records (sections of data on a web page) he/she would like to add. For example, after they enter data in a formview and save it to the database, they should be able to click on a button that says 'Add another instance data' .. this should create another formview dynamically with the same data points. Saving that will add another record for the same user id into the tables.
i have a FormView, and i already have a Label control that gets the value of theselected propery inside the FormView, so each time the FormView displays data, i have a Label control that displays individual values, according to the value of the FormView, here is the code:

What i would like to do is to know how i could add a DataList instead of a Label, and then each time the FormView databinds an item, to show the value of the DataList How would i go about doing that?
In my scenerio, i've a dropdownlistbox by which i want to filter, a textbox for the text to filter and two textbox for specifying from and to date.
A gridview control for displaying the filtered data and a sqldatasource control and a commandbutton called search.
The following code is used to filter the data in database and it works properly. But when i click on edit in gridview, the gridview displays no records and again when i click on search button the data is displayed on the gridview displayed with the selected row in editmode.
How Can I use MultiView with Data List Control .... I want the Items in Data List Appear as Collapsed Views and let The User to Expend what he want so how can i handle that ?
I would like to use the gridview paging feature and have built a gridview with a user control. The data source has lots of columns, so to make it easier I want to return a LIST<MyObject> and just pass <Myobject> into the user control rather than all the data elements. Not sure how I access the object of the data source to bind to the control. Assume it would be during ondatarowbound.
Also, my guess is there is a better way to do this than gridview. I'd take either solution that allows me to have easy paging and pass the complete object into the user control
time for some expertise. I have a datalist which contains a radiobutton in the itemtemplate. This radiobutton is disabled (set enabled to false) by default. On the html output I have a checkbox, which, when ticked, enables the radiobuttons through javascript. This is all working fine. The rb's are enabled and I can check them. However when the page is posted back. The checked property is always false.

I have managed to place a dropdown control iniside a gridview control. The dropdown does indeed populate in each row... Question: How is it possible for the system to correctly select the text in the dropdown based on the value of the field which is driven from the database? Is it to do with the selectedvalue?
I am using a form view control which has two binded textbox. Now at this level it works fine and the textboxes show the values from database. But when i insert a panel inside the form view and move these two textboxes inside the panel, they dont show any values. What could be the reason for this?
I've got a dropdownlist control that the user can select an an employee name and that should then fill in the detailsview control with specific information about that employee.
My dropdownlist control works fine and I do have AutoPostBack set to true. For some reason my detailsview doesn't work. There's no error message. The detailsview control just doesn't show up.

I am attempting to show/hide a control (txtInpatientType) when a user views individual records on a FormView (frmData) depending on the value stored in another control (txtPatientType). For example, if txtPatientType.Text = "Inpatient" then txtInpatientType.Visible needs to be True. Very simple code follows.

txtPatietType and txtInpatientType are both ReadOnly. txtInpatientType.Visible = false by default.
Recently, I am working on the datagrid, where I want to make datagrid as an input control where I would place textbox into a single cell, also the same way I want to include a datagrid control and calendar control? How would I do that?
