I'm using a DataList to display photos in a TabSheet. The problem I get is that the div seems to get wider based on the # of pictures even though the pictures are not displayed and a scrollbar is.

i have a datalist in my aspx like this:

when i do this in the code-behind:

everything gets rendered in one column (vertical) but i want two colums... so i do this:

but when i do the above. it gets rendered horizontally... how is that possible?
I am trying to work with vertical datalist but it is always displaying the items horizontally even after writing DisplayDirection="Vertical"
View 1 RepliesI have a datalist within a table and it scrolls horizontally. The data is set up to progress from past to future. By default the page loads with the table scrolled all the way to the left, and therefore displaying data which is furthest in the past. I would prefer for the table to load with the scroll bar in the middle, so that data at the split between past and future is displayed and the user can go further each way as he desires. how to set the focus within the table to let my datalist load exactly where I want it?

I have a datalist with repeat column=4 and repeat direction = horizontal.
I want once it display 4 items it should display separater( line or horizontal rural hr tag ).and then again display 4 columns.
As I understand the datalist can display recordsets horizontally instead of just vertically or in a paginated fashion?
Is there any other data controls that can do this like a formview or does only a datalist have that capability?

I *thought* I had everything setup properly but here's what happens when more & more items are added. Notice that eventually each item just starts shrinking in width. I would have though that the 110px width specifier in the CSS Class would have fixed the width accordingly.
The problem is that i have a search page. Access Database holding the information. I have a Access Datasource on the page with a Datalist to show the data. I need to find a way on setting it up to says "Sorry no results found" when the is no results. i am unsure on how to do this though.

Am building a Form for out intranet that runs on ASP.NET and C#, it is to be a survey from a SQL database. I have the connections setup can pull informations/Questions from the database. I am having a problem with setting up radio buttons within a datalist, ive never done this and i know they require unque names.
It is to be 4 radio buttons per question where only one can be select, i know how to group just not via a datalist with unique names
How can I do paging with datalist if that datalist is populated with inputs coming from a querystring?

I am trying to place a datalist inside datalist. I managed to place a datalist inside gridview but not datalist inside datalist.

i have a datalist . that is contains 7 columns in repeat layout .when i have more from 7 columns , datalist style is normal .but when i have smaller than 7 columns ! data list style is not normal,
because there are some empty columns without specific schema.
How i can make a datalist > when i have 1 columns in my datalist my first layout width be 100% ;
and dont show some empty layout ?
I have a gridview with around 250 columns which are generated automatically except first column which is fixed. Is there any way I can fix the first column but allow horizontal scrolling on remaining columns.

Normally, the gridview shows the dataset table column name as the column header and the data is bound vertically - i.e. the dataset table rows are created in a vertical/downward fashion. What I would i like do however in my application is to get the GridView to bind in the horizontal direction. So the data that is bound "moves" towards the right. Before suggesting a repearter or datalist, I also have a requirement to not wrap. I have not been successfull getting the repeater/datalist not to wrap unless you know of a setting you can share.

To display the headers when scrolling I have implemented ( in my asp code) the headers in another table and the data is in another table.
