i have a datalist in my aspx like this:

when i do this in the code-behind:
this.dlSubs.DataSource = dtCat; // dtCat is a datatable with about 13 rows
this.dlSubs.DataBind();
everything gets rendered in one column (vertical) but i want two colums... so i do this:
DataTable dtCat = shop.DAL.ArtikelenDB.GetLeftMenu(Convert.ToInt32(Request.QueryString.Get("catg")));
double tmpDouble = (double)dtCat.Rows.Count / 2.0;
double repRow = Math.Ceiling(tmpDouble);

dlSubs.RepeatDirection = RepeatDirection.Vertical; // also tried without this line...
this.dlSubs.DataSource = dtCat;
this.dlSubs.DataBind();
but when i do the above. it gets rendered horizontally... how is that possible?
I'm using a DataList to display photos in a TabSheet. The problem I get is that the div seems to get wider based on the # of pictures even though the pictures are not displayed and a scrollbar is.

What I'm trying to do is on page load display either of two controls based on how many items are in a datalist. For instance, if the datalist only contains 1 item I want it to display
Literal1.Visible = true;
If there is more than 1 item in the datalist, show
LiteralMulti.Visible = true;

View 8 RepliesI have a webform that functions as a kind of a timesheet. The way it works now is that a user selects a project from a dropdownlist, the enters a date and the amount of hours worked. After that the user selects the link button "register" and the worked hours are registered and the result will be shown in a datalist (for each project a new one). Is there some possible way to show a user in advance all the projects he is authorized for in a datalist or so, so he can fill out the hours for all the projects at once? Now the selection for a project from the dropdownlist is a problem for some users cause they have a lot if projects and it is quit a workload on the manor now.
