I have some issues about retrieveing and storing date information to my database (ms sql server 2005).My data column is a DateTime, and i have set my web.config globalization culture is set to "en-gb"
When i retrieve date from the datebase it appears as dd/MM/yy, that's fine. But i cannot insert a new date as same format?! It will only accept MM/dd/yy or yy/mm/dd.Right now i'm using this code to correct the error:
[Code]....
Is it possible to change the date format on the database or something, so i dont need to use this code?
I'm looking for the best way (Performance) to do gridview columns formating RunTime /Dynamic depending on the datatable Columns type ,I want to bind the datatable to a gridview and format the Date columns to short date, and currency columns formatted with comma ex 10,000.00 inplace 100000.00 at datatable the column type is double run time (without converting them to String) since I do a filtering and sorting at these columns.
I'm using the AJAX Control Toolkit with VS2008 Professional and I'm experiencing a weird problem with the date format.I have two textboxes on a webpage for inputting dates. The date format I wish to use for both textboxes is MM/dd/yyyy. One textbox has a calendar extender attached to it and the other doesn't. When I first load the page, I set the first textbox (the one with the calendar extender) to today's date and then I call a function inside the code-behind for the page that calculates the value of the second textbox's date and displays it.
t the date format of the first textbox is M/d/yyyy as long as I have the calendar extender on the page. If I remove the extender, everything is okay. Here is what the page HTML looks like: [Code]....
Here's the vb code from the page code-behind: [Code].... [Code]....
I am using a Calendar extender in a modalpopup when i click the image button the calendar extender should be displayed and when i click a particular date that date should be displayed in the textbox its working but what my problem is when i click the image button for the first time the calendar extender is displayed in the back side of the modal pop hence i am unable to select a particular date. but when i click the same image button for the second time the calendar extender will be displayed correctly.
I am displaying Event dates from SQL table on Calendar Control in ASP.NET. Also, I have GridView Control which shows event details when certain date is clicked on calendar control. But I have a problem as not all dates are displaying properly.
Strangly enough only dates which have same month and day date are displayed. For example:
It shows ok dates such as 08/08/2010, 09/09/2010, 10/10/2010 etc. If I click on the date which in SQL table exists as 11/25/2010 or 12/15/2010 etc (no matching month/day numbers) it shows error message saying: "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string."
Follwoing is my code:

I would like to make sure all events are showed properly in grid view.

I have created a form where the user selects a date from an asp.net calendar control. I would like it default to 12/25/2010 if no date is selected, partially to prevent a stack overflow.
SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM.

Do you think I have a problem with my timezone on mysql server 2005 or with my asp.net application. I'm doing a web-based program.
I am using asp.net 3.5. i am newly in .net.i create a new web proj.in my proj i need Date button which popups a calendar and Selected value displayed on a specific text box.I used Calendar tool but i am not satisfied with this tool.i learned abt date time picker tool.but in my tool box date time picker not showing.so how i get date picker tool in my web based appli.and How to use date picker tool.
I have written a small web app to take fill a dataset from an xml file, which is then bound to a Gridview control. The problem I am having is that I am trying to format a date field as it is currently displayed as '2010-06-03T16:37:26.043+01:00'. I can usually set a format to an item within a templatefield by setting the bind or eval text, but in this case I cannot.
XML File [Code].... ViewTable.aspx.vb [Code]....
I have tried formatting the column within the rowdatabound event but with no joy. Code shown below e.Row.Cells(10).Text = Convert.ToDateTime(e.Row.Cells(10).Text.ToString())
I'm creating a ListView and have been unable to format column widths. After much research I have found that the width property of the <asp:Label doesn't work. I'm using
I test the FormView by changing the width property and it doesn't affect the width of the column. The <th control in the layout template has a width="60" that appears to be working. If I remove the <asp:label from the <td in the Item and AlternateItem templates, the width is set to 60. When I paste the <asp:label back into the <td, the width of the column increases to about 200px even though the width is set to 10. I set the backcolor to Aqua to see the label and it is about 200 px widt.
From the database - 2 of my GridView cells: From Period, and Till Period - retrieve dates in the format YYYYMM - that is: just Year and Month. For Example: Databound Databound Till Period From Period Databound 200008 200005 200011 200009
I want for the date to be displayed in the Grid at the following format MM/YYYY - that is: Databound Databound Till Period From Period Databound 08/2000 05/2000 11/2000 09/2000
How can I do it easily? (I have just started programming in C#.net via Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, so I really don't have programming knowledge yet).
