DataSource Controls :: Retrieving And Storing Date Information To Database / Unable To Insert A New Date As Same Format?

I have some issues about retrieveing and storing date information to my database (ms sql server 2005).My data column is a DateTime, and i have set my web.config globalization culture is set to "en-gb"
When i retrieve date from the datebase it appears as dd/MM/yy, that's fine. But i cannot insert a new date as same format?! It will only accept MM/dd/yy or yy/mm/dd.Right now i'm using this code to correct the error:

Is it possible to change the date format on the database or something, so i dont need to use this code?

I am filtering dataview using my Date Column but the result is not proper because the Field value also stores time, so I want to convert this Date Field to only Date during Filter. because I must be missing something. I am parsing an rss feed to display the published date as a short date, and getting this error:

but I have tried following four options that are not giving required date format. What to do?

I'm looking for the best way (Performance) to do gridview columns formating RunTime /Dynamic depending on the datatable Columns type ,I want to bind the datatable to a gridview and format the Date columns to short date, and currency columns formatted with comma ex 10,000.00 inplace 100000.00 at datatable the column type is double run time (without converting them to String) since I do a filtering and sorting at these columns.

In Sqlserver 2008 DataBase one columns of a table is CreatedDate Having datatype :-datetime When i am passing Created Date as DateTime.Now i.e.( objRFEProxy.mCreateDate = DateTime.Now;) in sliverlight codebehind it through error. I'm working on a blog and want to show my posts in eastern time zone. i figured that storing everything UTC would be the proper way. This creates a few challenges though:I have to convert all times from UTC to Eastern. This is not a biggie but adds a lot of code.And the "biggie" is that I use a short-date time to reference the posts by passing in a query, ala blogger. The problem is that there is no way to convert the short date time to the proper UTC date because I'm lacking the posted time info.

There's a dataset that i have and it has a "UpdatedDate" column in it.In the sql side, i don't want to make any change to the date format.

I am struggling to find out the problem with something. Basically on this page:http://kidsunlimited.co.uk/nursery.aspx?ID=12&Month=April%202010#fragment-11 If you look at the nursery diary tab, will see an article, the first article is named "Test article for archives 1". Now the date should be 01 April 2010, but instead its showing as 04 Jan 2010I don't understand why. I have been looking at my insert statement and when i insert in the admin section i have a AJax date extender. And it populates the text box like so '01/04/2010'But then when i check in my database i notice it has been added as '04/01/2010'.

Not a fan of creation and modifcation data in each table's row but I don't make the rules here. Something about normal comes to mind. Simple method to insert or update data in a table ia EF. Datatype = smalldatetime and no it is not changing across schema. Don't care about milli seconds. In oOrg = null I always fail because of a datatype mismatch.Not sure but didn't M$ make both of these products, and shouldn't the EF know about a smalldatetime when it reads the schema? So what is the fix outside of changing many tables to be datetime which is frowned upon at this piont.

I am selecting the date field in the 'dd-mm-yyyy' format by using SQL Codes(103,105...).While inserting I want the userto insert the date in same format(dd-mm-yyyy) but it will not happening as in SQL Server we need to insert the date in'mm-dd-yyyy' format.Pls send me insertion query in sql to achieve this.Pls respond me ASAP.
