Using C# and SQL server. I need to dynamically format a web page which is intend for reporting. I have 2 SQL tables. Projects ( Project ID and Project Name) and Subprojects ( SubprojectName, ProectID, EmployeeName, Decription). Subprojects are linked to the projects throughthe ProjectID field
Needed format;
Employee Name
All the project for that EmployeeName
All the SubProjects for that EmployeeName undre the given project + Description of the subproject
Eg:
Peter
Project A
SubProject AA <subProject AA Description >
SubProject AB <subProject AB Description >
SubProject AC <subProject AC Description >
Project B
SubProject BA <subProject BA Description >
SubProject BB <subProject BB Description
ANN
Project C
SubProject CA <subProject CA Description >
SubProject CB <subProject CB Description >
How can I achieve this?

i created a chart in Excel, but now I am having the time of my life to create the same chart in a control.
If you can see on the bottom I have converted the labels to percentages.
In excel I am using a series of data cells to create the bottom labels (0-8 with a .5 increment).
The Y-axis is done with a fixed maximum value of 2 and the labels are percentages as well. How do I get those same axes on the chart control?

i am creating a total column which multiplies the price by quantity in my gridview but am stuck on converting the input strings.
The price is stored as a decimal in my database and the quantity is a nvarchar.
i am receiving this error:
Input string was not in a correct format.

I have a gridview that is built using a objectdatasource and set to autogenerate the columns based on that source, on some other pages i have a gridview that is built within the page with template fields and so on..
in that gridview i have a field that displays the time value like so

How can i apply the same formatting to my time column that is being displayed on the page that uses the autogenerated columns?
I tried to handle in SQL, but only returned the value like this : 03:11:00 and i would like to see it like this : 3:11 AM

I have to show progress bar in datalist and having following scenario:
I am collecting response for the questions For each answer, total no of responses and their respective Percentage(%) is calculated
Now I have to show this % progress in progress bar
means if a answer have 100% response then progress bar show 100% (100% filled) if it have 50% response then only half of progress bar is filled (50% filled)and so on. response is calculated upto one decimal places(like it can be 33.3% or whatever)and respective % have to be shown in progress bar
So I have to create progress bar dynamically for each response %
How to display % in progress bar, I am using asp.net 2.0 with C#..

I want to display a aspx page dynamically by reading the function from class1.cs file.
In need to implement the code in .cs file i.e in Bussiness logic layer.In a class file i need create the instance for each webcontrol but i struck up at a point that where the instance of the webcontrol to be added and also how to use the function of BLL in aspx.cs file.
Am crating instance like this,

I have written some code to dynamically generate template columns for gridview which works well. However, each cell in the gridview has to be a linkbutton, which when clicked does a db update and redirects to a specific url with some parameters in it.
I have attached a click event handler to the linkbutton in the InstantiateIn method but the event does not seem to fire.

I am stuck in chart controls...Here is my prob... There is a ListBox containing some items...when user selects multiple items from the list box I want to generate a dynamic table with the number of columns same as that of the number items selected in the listbox. And for each selected item I want to show a seperate chart in the columns...Currently I want the same chart control for every selected item (i.e. a static hard coded chart that i will replace later by dynamic values)....I am using a method that draws a chart control using a sample dataset... I am calling it each time when a new column is created..Also the DrawChart method executes for the first column only and throws an index out of range exception! after the first execution...my code is not working...here

i am creating a grid page for a first time.
I looked on some tuitorials also but i still have few confusions.
I have a few parameters on page A. After the selection of those parameters, i should pass to the new page which should have a list of fleet items. There will be few columns and at the right most, i want a tickbox whether to select that item or not.
As a default, i want each checkbox be checked but if user wants to uncheck it, they should be able to do it.

I am trying to create reports in my asp.net application. I using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 Express. I am trying to display the reports using the Report Viewer (local mode - no report server).
I originally created a lot of reports using Report Builder 2 with the intent of using Report Viewer (remote mode - with a report server). The reports that I created are in rdl format and in order to display the reports using the Report Viewer in local mode, the reports need to be in rdlc mode - (the C stands for client processing).
What is the easiest way to convert these files?

I'm stumped after a few days of searching and trying to create a Data Source to Oracle for a report under Visual Studio 2005. I followed the guide at

I am able to connect through the Server Explorer to our Oracle database using both .NET Framwork Data Provider for Oracle and Oracle Data Provider for .NET. I can execute queries on both of these and retrieve data.
The problems start when I try to create a data source under the Solution Explorer. I have created a Business Intelligence project on my local computer.
Data Source Wizard Select Create a data source based on an existing or new connection. Click New... Here the Provider is disabled and it appears defaulted to SqlClient Data Provider. All I can do is connect to a MSSQL server.
How can I connect to an Oracle database here?

Here i have an issue while printing from asp.net page itself i have few ASP tables containting some data something like image summary etc and i have a gridview control with paging in the same page now my problem is i need to allow user to print this page i can able to print my page with out any issue with tables and gridview my problem is when i send print my gridview not maintaing its format of font what i used in my page it is giving big font for me.

apologies beforehand for what can possibly be a daft conceptual question. I have an ascx control that has a bunch of ASP labels and buttons in the ascx page and some other public methods and properties in the code behind. When I drop this ascx control in a page it all works fine. I now have a page with a placeholder and I am trying to dynamically create an instance of my ascx control and put it there. I then reference this control in code and while all public methods and properties are available (ie MyControl.TitleString = "Hello";MyControl.DoSomething();) none of the ASP controls are. Rather, they are all null. So MyControl.buttonSave is null, MyControl.LabelTitle is null, etc. Is this by design? Am I missing something? If not, what's the point of being able to create dynamically do this?

I am dynamically creating initial rows and cells in a asp:table on Page Load, whose cells need to have embedded user controls.
I have an Add Row button, where in, whenever I click I need to add rows to existing table and also persist viewstate of the user controls already added earlier to cells during initialization.
When I click on Add button, the controls disappear. how to recreate tables with their embedded user controls and populate the viewstate.

I've got a Datalist displaying entries from a table and I want to change the title of the page based on a field in the table.

I have to display a news component peice in our website's homepage. The news information (date and news) is retreived from the db and I have queried to retreive that info now. My question is really simple --> How do I display the news with the timestamp in this specific format:
Database has it in this format:
