Forms Data Controls :: EditTemplate Control And Findcontrol In Codebehind

In the gridview we are using edit button. Once the edit button click Controls in the edit template will display in the same row with update button. That row has two dropdownlist control.
Process flow:
controls:d1 and d2
d1 is using sqldatasource for item display : working fine.
d2 is using codebehind code to load the item based on the selected value in the d1 : Not working
How to findthe control in the edit template to display item value for d2.
I've seen this before, I fixed long time ago and now cannot remember how I did :) My store procedure won't update the record because the sql field 'itemId' is being passed as ZERO always.
I was wondering if it is possible to find a control in a standard web form that is using a masterpage.
So for example I have two pages - default.aspx and information.aspx. Both these web forms have label controls (lblDefault and lblInfo respectively). This information is stored in a database along with the content that the label controls should be populated with. Instead of having to program a method to retrieve the content text from the database for the relevent controls on these two pages would it be possible to find the controls in the masterpage codebehind file - something like Page.Form.FindControl("lblDefault")? So for each webform using a masterpage a check is done to see if any of the controls should be populated with content from the database.
I have a form with a basic FormView control. The FormView is set to Edit mode by default with only two textboxes and one button. I am populating the FormView using a Datatable from the code behind generated from a SQL Stored Procedure.
The data fills the FormView just fine. I am attempting to update the data using a SQL Stored Procedure by getting the values from the textboxes in the FormView on button click Everything seems to work and I recieve no errors, however the values I type into the textboxes is not passed to the stored procedure so eventhough there are no errors the data is not updated.
I know that the issue is not my stored procedure becasue if I use static values for the parameters in the code behind, the values are updated by the stored procedure.
I placed two plain textboxes and a button on the ASPX form and create a button click event for that button using the same code I use for the butten click event in the formview. When I add values to the non-databound textboxes, the data is updated correctly.
The question is, why can I not get the updated/changed values from textboxes in the FormView control?
I have a DetailsView where EditTemplate has a dropdown where the datasource is a view from SQLDatasource.

In the DetailsView, Data Source configuration Wizard dialog box, I select the SQLDatasource as the data source. Under "Select a data field to display in the DropDownist:" I select NAME. Under "Select a data field for the value of the DropDownist:" I select FULLSTNAME.
When I try to edit I get the error saying "... it is not in the list...".
This is what I am trying to make it happen: The dd list displays the [NAME] data and when the user selects a value from the list, [FULLSTNAME] is actually selected, displayed in the text box section of the dd and is also stored to the database.
Any way of making this happen? I think I get this error because, FULLSTNAME is not a part of the database, but it is in SQLDataSource as a field.
In almost all cases, my edit template and insert template in the formview are the same.
So instead of copying pasting the same markup, i decided to put it in a user control. The display works fine, however, the databinding doesn't work anymore. It works fine if I put the markup directly in to the formview template.
I have a ListView showing just a list of concatenated strings obtained from different field of the objects of the datasource.
A LinkButton (with CommandName="Edit") in each row Event handlers for OnItemDataBound and OnItemEditing
A UserControl in EditTemplate.
Now the problem is, I don't know how to use Bind expression in the UserControl. I mean, how to populate this usercontrol when the linkbutton is clicked? (I tried capturing the control in theOnItemEditing handler. But FindControl returned null, as that handler is called before going to edit mode.)
While running ItemDetabound upon load of a listivew, I am trying to access the text in a label of the LayoutTemplate of a different Listview. It works fine if I try access the same labels under the same names if they are in the same listview, but not if they are in a different one. It was working for a while, can't figure out what I changed, but now says that object doesn't exist.
I am trying to target a control in a Detailsview in my codebehind, however I am getting an error "Name "control" is not declared" for example, i have a FileUpload field in the edit template of the detailsview, which I am trying to access as
FileField.PostedFile.SaveAs("directory")
I also tried adding a reference to the Detailsview id such as DetailsView1.FileField.PostedFile.SaveAs("directory")
I can insert a checkboxlist selected value as comma delimited string into the database. But I have hard time to reload it in formview edit mode. I added a hidden label to retrieve the comma delimited string and try to use checkboxlist databound event, but it doesn't work. I don't know what problem is in my code.
I am using FormView component which has a field that is the sex of the person that I am using RadioButtonList with a simple way to show Male and Female, but want to retrieve the information and OldValue NewValues not anything behind me.

I am able to go into Edit Mode and once in edit mode I can see the textBox tbLogEntry fine. lblLogEntry is gone. I have left regular Item mode and am in Edit mode:

gives me back the original value, not the new one.
How do I get the edited value from the front end textbox?
I am having trouble trying to access a UserControl I created and placed inside the EditTemplate of the ListView. How is it done? I've tried to access it at the ListView's ItemDataBound, ItemEditing and Databound with the following code with no luck:
i am developing a sharepoint webpart. In this webpart i need to use a repeater control. The problem is, i can only use codebehind for creating and using the control. So i have some questions:
1. After creating the repeater control in codebehind, how to create some templates (itemtemplate, footertemplate, etc.) and use it?
2. How to bind a object collection to a repeater control?
I have done the itemtemplate and edittemplate,when I click on the button in itemtemplate, the edittemplate will show.But that row in itemtemplate will disappear.How can I keep that row in itemtemplate and ecotent in edittemplate both appear?
The application.aspx page contains a multiview, and the applicant1 user control is in one of the views. The button continue takes the visitor to the next view which contains another user control of text boxes.
I want to write validation code on the continue_Click event which is in the application.aspx.cs page. Ideally, from the application.aspx.cs code behind page, I want to get the user input from a text box in applicant1.
Intellicense cannot seem to find any of the text boxes in applicant1 from application.aspx.cs.
I have a dynamic gridview in which i need to add textbox, checkbox, imgButton in the cell dynamically.
At the moment user click on the imbgutton, a click event fire and i need to capture the user input on the checkbox and textbox of the particular cell.
I have problem in finding out the checkbox and textbox control in the imgbutton click event. The cause is i do not know which row in the gridview i need to search to for the control.
What I've done is I've setup a Gridview with a datasource to show only 1 of the columns I need from the datasource, but I also have another ItemTemplate Column in which I have a dropdownlist with another datasource that I've bound to the dropdownlist.
What I need to do is have the dropdownlist show the selected one when compared to a id from datasource in the gridview.
In my gridview, I have an ImageButton and when the user clicks it, I show a modal, however, when I popUp modal its showing me the same Datakey value for each row, so, is there a way to use FindControl for the selected row within the RowCommand?
