i am developing a sharepoint webpart. In this webpart i need to use a repeater control. The problem is, i can only use codebehind for creating and using the control. So i have some questions:
1. After creating the repeater control in codebehind, how to create some templates (itemtemplate, footertemplate, etc.) and use it?
2. How to bind a object collection to a repeater control?

I have a list of objects that I want to bind to a gridview. Creating that list and binding it works fine for most of the public properties in that list.
There are some objects contained in each of those objects... for instance there is an Address object.
object.Address.Line1;
object.Address.Line2;
When I bind this to my gridview, I have no issues with stuff like object.DateRegistered, but how can I access things like object.Address.WhatEverProperty? I always get this error:
"A field or property with the name 'xxx.xxxx' was not found on the selected data source."

can you please help me to brainstorm the possible causes of this error. I've got a paged repeater with localisation bound programitcally to an sqldatasource using a stored proc. I can post code if needs be but it's rather long. I'm looking for typical causes of this error + will make note for future reference!

I have dropdown in the aspx page. I am calling JQuery on dropdown chnage and JQuery is calling GenericHandler.ashx . The Handler is retuns Serialize JSON string. I ned to bind my Repeater control with this JOSN object. here I am giving my sample aspx page code

I want my codebehind to dump a very large set of JS into the ASPX page. This is required, as I can't use external JS code for this component, and the code is also unique to each customer. Is it possible to do this from codebehind? I know how to set the value of text boxes etc. (.Text/.Value = xxx) but I can't see how I can just 'dump' code straight onto the page.

I would like to display contents of two (or more) tables inside a Repeater control grouped by some Category. I will be getting the data in sepatare DataReaders (not a single joined query). Is there a way to do this without resorting to building DataTables/DataSets ? I am aware of nested repeater techniques, just not sure how to relate the data with DataReaders.

I have a custom page (Page 1) in SharePoint where I have a repeater control. From Page1 I open Page2. This is where I generate a collection of object which i use to bind repeater control in Page1. For the first time everythings work fine. If I have 5 objects to bind, repeater control shows 5 elements.
Now assume, I have 5 elements in page 1. When I open page two It carried over same 5 elements. I delete 1 element and send 4 element as collection to Page 1. In page 1 after I databind the repeater control, it doesn't display correctly. It deletes the wrong element.
I debug my code. The collection which i am binding to repeater shows the correct elements. But while displaying i is not showing correctly.

I have tried binding images to repeater from one folder called images . But now, I am trying to bind the repeater with different folder's images, based on which menu item is clicked like "Wedding", "Birthday". When "Wedding" is clicked then it repeater should be loaded from Wedding folder's images similarly with "Birthday".

when I hover over the users using break point I have this userlist->non-public members->Values->[0] bill,[1] ian,[2] jeff-> comment,creation date,email,is approved, is locked out, is online, last activity date, name ...etc I want to bind name,creation date, email to my grid. I have a custom object and a generic collection of this object.When databinding, how can you get a reference to the object's collection similar to how DataRow.Table works? I understand I may need to write code to handle this but I'm not sure where to start.I considered adding a property to my custom object class to store the collection in, but would this generate too much overhead setting this for every object in the collection?

I have created an ASP page to display records for auditor review and response. The page consists of two repeaters that display 5 rows from a database at a time. for each row displayed, a RadioButtonList, containing two buttons is attached. If the second button is selected, an input text box is displayed to allow auditor comments.
My situation is that I cannot find a way to identify which row is being selected? When I select the Button that should enable the text box, I'm receiving the following error:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
I'm just starting out in ASP coding and would like to know what I'm not doing right?
