I have a Gridview with certain columns header in form of dates (coz the datasource is with column field from a date field in a cross tab query). What will be the code of databound event that convert col labels from like 6/1/2010 to Jun-10 in the header text.

Need to format the header cells to align with the columns of the gridview.Currently I'm using a trial an error method to set the width of the header to align with the gridview columns. I want if the header of a particular column contains a word "S", the header and row turns red. I used following code to make header red and it works fine. How to make it such that the rows also turn red if condition is met ? I cannot hardcode in columns since the Gridview is autogenerate colums as data structure keeps changing.

I have a Gridview where I want to handle the Sorting in a custom control that I've added to the header.
I've added this control to my GridView's Header via OnRowCreate event handling. I want the Sort Expressions to persist session to session (via Webparts Personalization)

This works out well for adding the control, but I can't get anything to persist because these controls are creating initially via postback (per the event) and re-created on all subsequent postbacks. I can't add an If(!IsPostback) because the controls are initially created on the gridview's postback (well at least thats how it's acting when I put it in there) If I were to add this control via the ASP page, not via the Codebehind, I would be able to persist the control. If I try to treat it as though everything is setup correctly, and assign my custom control's controls to [Personalizable], I get a runtime error telling me that I can only have webpartzones in or before Page_init (I'm guessing this is due to when/where the
gridview hits the OnRowCreate event). If there is some fundimental logic I'm missing, or best practices that I'm moving away from,

I am having trouble formatting the date on a textbox I get the error above if I don't enter the date in MM/DD/YY format in the textbox. I am also using this in a FormView so I can't format it or don't know how to in the code behind so if there is a way to format it in design view that would be preferable. Does anyone have any ideas on how I would do any of this.

i have a gridview bound to sql datasource with template fields binding the columns. I have set the Header Style to a css class. I have 3 columns not bound to data as Add, Edit and Delete. When I set the text color to white for the header only the non bound columns go white. The bound columns are BLUE like hyperlink. Any one know a way round this. I have a gridview on my aspx page. I know we can format gridview row in rowdatabound() of gridview. But my problem is bit different.
In my gridview, i have a column customer code, a single code can repeat more than once successively. I want for one customer code, row color should be blue and as soon as code changes colour should be yellow for that code. Similarly when code changes again color should be blue again.
In this way color of my gridview rows should be blue and yellow alternately based on my customer code.I have arranged customer code in order by using sql order by clause.

I've got a Gridview in which I have a column that shows percentages. I use the 0:P2 to format the percentage into readable format. However when the user 'edits' the particular row the percentage sign % still shows up in the textbox. When the user tries to save/update their change I throw an error on the % sign.
Is there a way to show the % only when the row isn't in an editable state?

I have a gridview that shows the total number of days booked for each month of the year. When you click the cell for say January another gridview is populated below showing each day of january.My problem is that I want to change the formatting of the cells in the second gridview depending upon if any of the cells have a 1 or a 0.
