When ever I click on the paging it does a postback but does not move the page to the secong page.
[Code]....
I am using nifty corners to display rounded div's. I pasted this code into a normal web page and it fires correctly. But when I move the code back into a master page the script for windows load doesn't fire. The code is below. why the onload scrip isn't firing. The actual web form only declares the content place holders...no actual html.
To get nifty corners it is [URL] and scroll to download link. But this isn't necessary.
[Code]....
In the detailsview, I set a edit item template (a bounded dropdownlist control). But in database there are some data not set to a value (null). After clicking edit button in detailsview control I get the error about the value problem (Because after populating the dropdownlist, there is no item as null in it. )How to set dropdownlist selected index when the data is "null"?
View 6 RepliesI am using a LINQ to SQL data source for a ListView and perform a validation check in the Listview ItemUpdating event:
[Code]....
This works great and keeps the user from updating the record with invalid data.However, when I hit cancel after this operation, it saves the text in the box rather than cancelling the operation. Here's my code for the update button:
[Code]....
Update Function:
[Code]....
I do not handle the cancel button event, as the cancel operation has worked fine... unless someone enters incorrect information and e.Cancel is set to true.What am I doing wrong? Is it the mixture of using the LINQ Datasource and doing my own updating?
I have a gridview bound to a sqldatasource with editing enabled. If I click Edit, then either Cancel or Update, the update or cancel occurs and the Edit button reappears. However, I cannot then click the browser's back button without having the Update and Cancel buttons reappear. A second click of the back button takes me to a state where the Edit button shows again, *then* another back button click will take me to the referring page (the one before the one with the gridview on it.) IOW, it looks like the postbacks are cached. How can I prevent this and have the back button go straight to the referring page?
View 4 RepliesI'm new to ASP.net (and coding in general) and I was very impressed about how easy is to learn enough to create something useful :)
Unfortunately, now I'm stuck on a problem involving gridview sorting and paging: I created a master gridview bound to an sqldatasource, I enabled sorting and paging and then I linked it to a detailsview to enable editing and inserting.
In addition, I set up two other gridviews whose datasources depend on the master gridview.
When a user selects a row and modifies it in the detailsview, the sort takes place and the row is often moved to another page. This can be a little confusing, especially because there are other controls relying on the selected row of the master gridview.
There's a way to find and select the page of the selected row after gridview's databind and sort take place? I tried creating a dataview to search the index of the selected datakey in the databound event of my gridview, but it doesn't work, because it seems that the rows aren't sorted yet. Maybe I should choose another event?
I have a 2 pages
one is registration page and second is show data in grid view
When i click on Edit button of gridview row i want to fill textboxes of registration page
how to do it?
How can I edit a gridview row in different page?
View 1 RepliesI have an .aspx page (with code behind) pulling in data from an Access database and has a gridview with a select that shows product details in a detailview and shows a picture of the product... it is all working correctly, but I need to develop another page for editing a selected product and have no idea where to start... I'd prefer a popup screen launched from en EDIT button with textboxes and an UPDATE button... does anyone have any clues how to do this? Here's my .aspx with the code-behind under it:
<div id="content-main-three-column" style="background-color: #335E66; height: 630px;">
<div style="position: absolute; top: 32px; left: 198px; height: 327px; width: 381px;">
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"> </asp:ScriptManager>
<asp:AccessDataSource ID="AccessDataSource1" runat="server"
[code]...
[Code]....
Then: when using a masterpage, all of a sudden, the same code in a contentplaceholder is not working anymore! When I edit, it doens't give me an error but simply deletes all the values of that datarow.

I have a grid view with edit and save buttons when I click on edit it is letting me edit it and if I click on save it is lettingme save the data that I have edited.
The thing is after save is done it is showing the data in edit mode i.e <edit item template > mode I am still seeing the textboxes if I refresh the page then I am seeing it normally.
How can I stop the gridview to show edit mode after the save is done?
Can someone tell me if there is a technique to make an entire Column within an gridview (for example digits) editable (instaed of a single row) and update this column after changing values by press an Update-button?
A commercial solution is also o.k. with me, but, of course, a method to do it ourselve would be nice.
- I want to put multiple rows of a gridview into edit mode
- I have not found any easy method to accomplish this task. I found a way to programmatically put a gridview into edit mode, but in testing the code below it works for only 1 row at a time :
[Code]....
I have a page with 2 GridViews on it. The top GridView shows all the Bike Riders the bottom GridView shows all the Bike Lockers. I have set up both GridViews to be able to Edit the data. And the top GridView to Select.
When I click the Select buton on the top GridView I programically reset the DataSource for the bottom GridView to show the Locker for the Biker of the top GridView Selected.
So far everything works great. I select a Biker on the Top GridView and the Bottom GridView resets just showing one record for the bike locker.
The problem is that if I then click on the Edit button on the bottom GridView (The Bike Locker GridView) the GridView goes into the Edit Mode but it now shows all the Bike Locker records and the edit record is always the top record of the GrdView.
Here is my code Behind:

How do I change these hyperlinks to say something other then Edit and Cancel?
View 4 Repliesim not sure why but my gridview seems to have stopped working in all areas of Editing, Deleting, Sortinging and i cant click the page number to switch between pages.Ive looked up numerous tutorials and on forums and still cant seem to find a solution that works for me. I have the edit delete sorting and paging check boxes selected.
When i click on any of the links nothing happens. not even a refresh.
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AllowPaging="True"
AllowSorting="True" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="NumofPosts"
DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1" [code]......
i can not delete user by use gridview and objectdatasource in VS2010 .

Lets say that i want to make a ADMIN page for articles.
1) I show all my articles on lines
2) Each article has an EDIT BUTTON and INSERT NEW button
3) When I click on the EDIT BUTTON, it opens a CUSTOM page where i can Edit my article.
4) When i click on the INSERT NEW BUTTON it opens the same CUSTOM page where i can Insert my article.
I was trying to do it with Gridview and Formsview.
I have a "report" the users can run it basically creates a simple gridview. In the gridview the user can click on a claim ID. The claim id is then passed via url querystring to a claim management page. The claim management page uses a listview to display the various claims and allow users to edit them. I want to use the claim id passed in the url to locate the listview row to open in edit mode, so the user can make changes / alterations to the claim.
View 4 RepliesI have a strange issue with the FormView. After working through some issues getting the update to work (as this is my first experience with FormViews) I now have a new issue. After I perform an update, and the FormView updates and returns to read mode, if I hit F5 (refresh) the FormView performs another update to the datasource, despite the fact it is read-only mode and none of the fields on the screen are editable.
I would think that a refresh in read mode for the FormView after an edit would simply refresh the data from the database, not perform another update. Again, the FormView is in Read Only Mode, but a refresh is creating another Update event (which I can debug and see if I break in the ItemUpdating event). This only happens after I perform an edit, not when the page initially loads.
I know about the benefits that full text indexing provides when indexing columns that contain LOB such as varbinary(max), varchar(max) etc. But is there an overhead involved when using full-text indexing and full text search on columns that contain a small amount of data, such as varchar(50)?
