During rowdatabound event I am getting values for rowcount in debug mode but I am not getting values for the cells of the grid. But After rendering I am getting values for the grid in the browser. I am not using codebehind for databind() to the grid. Here is the code.

View 4 RepliesI am working on ASP.NET 4.0 application.I want to bind the data in a datatable to a grid control and i want to do some formatting. I want to merge the cells or hide the cell border in the first three columns (Merge every 5 cells in a column). And Vertical align the text to center. Also i need row border at the end of every 5 rows.
For example, If i am binding 10 rows to the Grid i need row border only at the end of 5th and 10th row. And merge every five cells only in the first three columns. All the other columns should not be changed. I also want to change the background color of the cells in all rows based on the value in that cell. How to achieve this in ASP.NET 4.0 and which control can be used to display in this format?

I'd like to see if I can format both so that they appear to have the same over-all width and cell width too.

The first time I click on any cells, it runs good, the second time i click on any cells of grid view, it prompts an error:

I am using c# with VS 2010 and dynamic data. I have a gridview that is populated by scaffolding. I then want to use the "Delete" command on the row. While the command works fine, it does not seem to know the datarecord has child tables in a one to many relationship, thus it wont properly delete the child tables before deleting the parent table. Which is fine, i can call some linq to sql to get the table id and delete all of its children before the parent table is deleted. Odd thing is, the Gridview is retruning "" emtpry strings for the cell that has the table uniqe ID.

View 2 RepliesI have a gridview on a web form and it is working, but the users find it too slow for data entry with them having to click on the edit and update buttons. I would like to allow them to edit all the rows and then when the form's overall save button is pressed then I save the changes. I found this: [URL] which does something similar, but I don't want to use the check box to indicate which row is being edited.
I've got close based on that code, but one of the controls in the column needs to control how the rest of the columns are displayed and I can't work out how to refer to the other columns and control on the current row from some code that is called by the OnTextChanged associated with a control.
I found code [URL] that allows multiple-row inserts, and tried to convert it to vb.net. I can't get the blank grid with 5 rows to show up -- for some reason the datasource won't bind.
