how to partially load the grid with pagination? I have a grid with 1,00,000 datas. It takes more time to load intially. How to load the first page of the grid intially and also load the datas of the page which is selected only. I want the datas to be loaded partially based on the paging not all page datas to be lodaed everytime.

The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. However when I click on the Add Template button, the grid view does not appear.

i have a grid view with some coulmns like Name,Phone no etc with Edit,Delete column in grid view. I click a row in grid view to Edit,it goes another page where i can edit all fields .Once i update i redirect the page to gridview. When user like to update the datasource he will select one row from gridview then in selected indexchanged event i would display the selected row values beneath the form under the grid , Then user will update the contents displayed from grid and click an update button which is outside the grid . After updating the displayed row , i got to get the values of the next row in the grid and display them for next updation , i'e if users maually selects row 3 from grid then he can update the values using the update button and then on update click itself i'll have to display next row contents of row 4 and this process could go on .

Can not fire Grid View RowEditing event in page load?
I have a grid view , select the grid line item from popup when click the image button which is located in header template. When click the select button in popup window , fill up the grid row and allow to edit the quantity text box.

I have been chasing this erorr all day and coming up blank. I created a stored proceudre(fairly complicated logic), added it to the context, and set the return type to a specific entity type.
It generated this:

I call it from my service with the following method:

I have tested the stored procedure and it returns the results I want. When I make the service call from the controller, it doesn't error out, however, it should return 4 records in this instance and instead, it returns the same 4 records (repeating the first record 4 times).
In addition, in my controller code, I am using the MVCContrib ToPagedList() method which doesn't appear to work with the ISingleResult interface (forward only cursor, I'm guessing). I have attempted converting the service results to IQuery, List, and Array, however, I still have the problem with the first record being repeated 4 times.
If i have a page which displays all the data but with only a few fields, then i select one of the data and then i want to be able to view that data with all the fields related to that data on another web page.
I have been able to view the data in Grid view and enable the Select, Update, Insert and Delete. But not able to use the select button to view the information on another web page.
When I try to look at my masterpage/form in design view it's only partially visible. It's shifted so far to the left that i can only see the right half of it. I don't understand why. I'm using negative margins to center the form at runtime, which is working great. It appears to be shifted to left about half of it's width, which would equal the negative margin.

Is this a deficiency with the rendering in Design view? Is it a discrepancy between the way a browser would interpret the styles and the was the Design view interprets them?
I need to load the database values into the grid view by checking the attribute "id".
If the id value which I entered is equal to database, then it'll load in the grid view.
i have a beginners question. I would like to build a website with n areas with usercontrols inside for different actions. For example one usercontrol should show up last n logged in users, or another usercontrol should do a long running operation and should show some calculated information on sales information etc.
Building these controls and the page for this is no problem without AJAX, but how could i make it, that the n single usercontrols load AFTER the base page is loaded with an progress bar like "Loading data. Please wait." and when its finished it should show the information.
How could i make that? I think that this is possible, cause i saw it on several websites.
My first testing was to put two or more updatepanels and in each update one usercontrols. But that didnt work.
