Jan 20, 2010I have 3 columns in a GridView. The first is a templatefield with a button in it and then other 2 are just plain data from the database. Currently when I try to render the HTML from the GridView I see all 3 columns, but I only want to see the plain data fields. I have seen the answer as:gvQuotes.Columns[0].Visible = alse;But that doesn't work for me, because I still want to keep the first templatefield column on my page.

I have a nested gridview (gridview within gridview) that I need to render beneath the outer gridview.
I keep finding examples online of showing a nested gridview in the last column of the outer gridview but I need to show my nested gridview instead under the outer gridview.
I was certain that I had done this before by putting a row (<TR>) inside the TemplateField so that the nested gridview would display under the outer gridview. I am getting the data ok for the nested gridview, that is not a problem. The only issue I am having is making the inner gridview display under the outer gridview.
btw, the error is below:

I have 4 place holders in that aspx page.I need to bind div id="Section1" to placeholder1, div id="Section2" to placeholder2 and similar the other two sections also to the corresponding place holder. how can i loop and add controls to corresponding place holder.

Web Forms :: Render XML Code In HTML?
May 9, 2010I have an application that renders HTML code to allow users to preview an email that the app sends out. The HTML is held in a string that is then put into the text property of a label. This is working fine, but now I need to also add XML to the HTML string for an email listener when the user clicks the Send button. The problem is that the XML tags are being ignored by the browser.
Here's the HTML string with the XML (at bottom):
MyHTMLString = @"
<HTML>
<head>
...
</head>
<Body>
...
<SomeXMLTag>TagContent</SomeXMLTag>
</Body>"
This string is then assigned to a label for previewing:
lblPreview.Text = MyHTMLString
But only "TagContent" appears and not the XML tags! Obviously, the HTML is ignoring tags it doesn't understand. How can I get the tags to also appear?

Sep 30, 2010I have a server control which consists of a gridview with custom navigation&information capabilities and with javascript functions to highlight the selected grid items or highlight when mouse over event occurs.. (full tested outside asp:wizard)I'm trying to use that server control inside a template wizard step, when I drop such server control in the first step of the wizard everything goes ok.
When I insert even a blank step previous to the step which contains the server control, the javasript code of the server control is not rendered at all, the page doesn't fail during load but until I go with mouse over an item of the grid for instance.When I check the rendered HTML I can see no HTML, nor javascript events of this server control where rendered, neither the implementation nor calls to javascript, but even rarer what is there visible in the grid for ie, even the other components of the server control, are not in the "view source code" content. I seems it was sent to the client, even showed, but truncated in some phase..

Mar 19, 2010I just upgraded my mvc 1.0 project to 2.0 using the wizard. My project builds fine however, my html helpers that I have used, does not render the input's ID tag. For some reason, only some controls render and some do not. For example:

I thought it had to do with the fact that the value is empty, but from the two examples, they are nearly identical. Is this a bug? All was working before I upgraded.

Mar 30, 2011I have created a nested gridview and want to be able to export the gridview to CSV file. When I export it it also exports all the HTML in the file which I do not want. It is fine if i export it to and XLS file though.
I just wondered if anyone has managed to export to CSV with nested gridviews without the HTML getting exported also.
