I want a tutorial or an example showing on how to upload details or records on text file to Gridview.
The way it is with Excel file where we upload to Griview.

In the aspx page I have the EmptyDataText property set

However when no records are not returned I am not seeing the text "No Results Returned" I am populating the gridview using a SqlDataSource. I am not sure why this is happening but thinking about setting the value programmatically, does this make sense and if yes which gridview event should I do this? has anyone else experienced something like this before?

I have on a page a gridview that can be filtered with one text box. I set up the gridview to show select and wanted to then connect a details view so that when you selected a row the entire details would show up. When I run it I get this error. Data keys must be specified on GridView 'GridView1' before the selected data keys can be retrieved. Use the DataKeyNames property to specify data keys.

The file upload is used to grab the path of the file and upload the path to the database not the file. View 4 RepliesI have a very large text file whose data I need to extract and display in a gridview control. The method I'm using now is as follow:
1. Read each line of the textfile using StreamReader, into a String.
2. Split the String and populate the fields of a detail object.
3. Add the detail object to a List.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each row of the text file.
5. Bind the list to the gridview.
I think most of the time is spent processing the text file data (steps 1, 2 & 3).
Is there any way this can be done quicker and more efficiently? At present, it takes ages to read and process a 76 mb text file.

If I change the alignment to left for both, the Insert and Cancel buttons on the bottom of the control also shift to the left, and I'd like them to stay centered.
