Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when adding controls dynamically, the controls added during a post-back must match the type and position of the controls added during the initial request.
The above error occurs with gridview control , when used with template field columns with item template / and edit templates etc. updating a row within gridview, at the time of loadiong it loads perfectly fined, but when tried to modify an existing row within gridview control, then it produces the error. Make sure the grid view control has to be a child control which manages the child table info with in a master form. to reproduce the above problem the grid view must be loading the child records info of a master within the masterform, meaning both master data and gridview data all to be managed in one single form.
I had to replace gridview control with datagrid and then it worked perfectly fine. I wasted almost 4 days of my time., there is no way we could figure out the problem. here is the full info of the problem.

I have big problem I have a table where the column is "Enabled" datatype = bit.
In this column I have data True / False. The show GridView column 'Enabled'. Problem is, as everywhere in this column, write True / False. How, in view of this information in the GridView displayed: True = Verified, False / UnVerified GridView, column is "Enabled"
Column Enabled: No False No True Column Enabled I want this Unverified Verified
It should probably change the text, or something like that.
I am relatively new to asp.net and program using VB. I have written the following code to try and replace ReadOnly CheckBoxes with an image as the CheckBoxes appear grayed out and difficult to see. The GridView is linked to a SQL DataSource to display information only.
The problem I am having is displaying the image for unchecked boxes where the data (PET) in the SQL table is set to 'false'. The code displays the checkbox image fine when the bit is set to 'true', but no image appears in the GridView rows where the bit is 'false'.
i have a grid view that displays a load of figures, and as there is a lot of zero's in these tables i wondered if it would be possible to just display nothing were there is a "0" ... just to make it look cleaner?
I have this scenario where i want to select multiple customers at a time and add them to a group/role. to do this i thought of using a gridView and listed them all with sqlDatasource and enabled 'selection' for gridview. but by default grid view is allowing only one selection at a time. so is there a way i can insert a new column of check boxes and some how read the gridview to know which checkboxes are selected? if you know a better approach than a gridview or check box please suggest me. i am not very familiar with asp.net so
i want to access gridview collumn 2 and for each row replace the text that is there with a "*" because its a password fields so instead on show the pass hide it with * so its more or less this but... see comment line
I am working on creating a stored procedure that will output a pivot table. In the pivot table will be either the string NULL or a number. How can I reformat this in ASP.NET so the NULL value becomes a blank cell in the gridview and the number (whatever it is) becomes an 'X' ?
I am trying to replace the JavaScript onclick event handler in ASP.NET that is added to a button control when using validation controls. This is what is output into the HTML from ASP.NET in this scenario:
I have looked pretty estensively, and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to modify the function server side before it is injected into the page.
Since I am developing a control and desire it to be non-invasive and self contained, and I am interested in obtaining the validationGroup parameter of the WebForm_PostBackOptions object, it seems that the easiest solution would be to use JavaScript to replace the WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions function name with my custom wrapper function and leave all of the rest of the parameter information intact - then I can extract the information I am interested in, call my custom functions, and then forward the call on to WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions.
NOTE: I am using jQuery to build my custom function, so if there is an easier way to do this with jQuery it is an option I will consider.
Here is the code I tried to replace the onclick event handler (not working):
Using alert(), I verified that the text is being changed correctly, however whether or not I use the eval() function, the onclick handler doesn't seem to recognize it as JavaScript.
I thought of using a regular expression to get the validationGroup value, but this seems like it will be far more elegant and flexible if I can get it working...
Note: If there is a way for my control to interrogate the page it is on to find all of the buttons that will post back (regardless of what type of buttons they are) so I can retrieve the property server-side, this is also something I will consider.
In my asp.net+vb web i have a label named company.text i use a dropdownlist to select the company names and that selected value is binded on company.text. When the dropdownlist is selected the data hets displayed in the gridview and also the selected company named is displayed in company.text.
i want to use this label (company.text) as a hyperlink to another page so that that company name can be used for string.Â
I have a gridview which is binded to a Sqldatasource. I would like to replace a column data field value to 'Not Applicable' if that column has got a value of 2 in database.
How do I solve the problem below? I'm creating a simple content management system, where there is a HTML template with specific markup that denotes where content should be:
Separate from this, there is content in a database field that looks a little like this:
<!-- #BeginEditable "Body1" -->This is Test Text<!-- #EndEditable --><!-- #BeginEditable "Extra" -->This is more test text<!-- #EndEditable -->
As you can guess I need to merge the two, that is, replacing
<!-- #Editable "Body1" -->
with: This is Test Text. I've begun the code here. But I'm having problems using the Regex Replace function that should be located at the very bottom of that For/Each.
//Html Template string html = "<html><head></head><body><!-- #Editable "Body1" --><p>etc etc</p><!-- #Editable "Extra" --></body></html>"; //Regions that need to be put in the Html Template string regions = "<!-- #BeginEditable "Body1" -->This is Test Text<!-- #EndEditable --><!-- #BeginEditable "Extra" -->This is more test #EndEditable -->"; //Create a Regex to only extract what's between the 'Body' tag Regex oRegex = new Regex("<body.*?>(.*?)</body>", RegexOptions.Multiline); //Get only the 'Body' of the html template string body = oRegex.Match(html).Groups[1].Value.ToString(); // Regex to find sections inside the 'Body' that need replacing with what's in the string 'regions' Regex oRegex1 = new Regex("<!-- #Editable "(.*?)"[^>]*>",RegexOptions.Multiline); MatchCollection matches = oRegex1.Matches(body); // Locate section titles i.e. Body1, Extra foreach (Match match in matches) { string title = oRegex1.Match(match.ToString()).Groups[1].ToString(); Regex oRegex2 = new Regex("<!-- #BeginEditable "" + title + ""[^>]*>(.*?)<!-- #EndEditable [^>]*>", RegexOptions.Multiline); // // // Replace the 'Body' sections with whats in the 'regions' string cross referencing the titles i.e. Body1, Extra // // // }
I have wrote some codes and also i have added delete column with gridview and would like to make it work ,i mean when someone press delete button i want to delete that row.
I am trying to use the MySQL replace function in C# but the resulting data ignores the columns inside the REPLACE function - i guess its because C# has its own Replace function
get the required column either through Mysql escape sequence or in the C# syntax
MySqlConnection mySqlConnection1 = new MySqlConnection("server=localhost; database=faohr; pooling=false; allow zero datetime=yes;");
I have an asp.net page with a gridview control on it but I want to allow the user to also be able to update the selected row from a series of textboxes. I simply need the code for a button click event to do this.
button is called button1 textbox is called textbox1 gridview control is named gridview1 record to be modified is in 3rd column called PlayerName
The row to be edited will always be the only record shown and will always be selected by code I've already written. I will also need to know if the record must be set to edit mode to make the button click code work.
I have a gridview and am using the Edit - Update function to update one field in my gridview. I have the textbox appearing as I want it and am able to update the data for that cell.
The problem I have is refreshing the gridview after the update. The Update and cancel are still shown instead of the gridview refreshing back to the Edit statement after the update.
I have a Gridview that I am trying to add Paging to, however when the 2nd page is selected I get my EmptyDataText.n reviewing multiple sites and forums they have stated to send your Datatable to a Session - What am I missing here?
I need to call a javascript funtion, on the click event of buttons(asp button or html button) in my gridviw.Also I need to pass the ID from the gridview(datakey value) as a parameter to the javascript function.
ie ,All the rows in my gridview has a button field,on clicking each of the buttons ,a javascript function is to be fired ,and the ID of that particular row from gridview(datakey value) should be passed to the javascript as a parameter.
I have a gridview being loaded via a Databind to a MembershipUserCollection
This works fine, but I need to add one more Column with data not found in the collection, so i added a TemplateField and a Label to my Gridview and in the TEXT prop of the label is where my problem is.
The function call is working, but my problem lies with providing the Datafield="UserName" value from the same row in GridView in the function call
