I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to transfer records from SQL central database (who has a public IP address) into SQL local database (who doesn't have a public IP)?
or if it's not possible can I use a centralized website instead to pass some data into the local website? (but i'm not sure if it will have some security concerns)..

I have a database with two tables (tblPhotos and tblPhotoComments). My
tblPhotos tables has the following fields: pid, apid (albumID), title,
description, uploadDate. In the tblPhotoComments table I have the
following fields: cid (primary key), pid (foreign key), cname, comment.
Now, I have a webpage used to view a large version and details of an image
clicked on the gallery page. On the gallery page each photo is linked with the following address: viewp.aspx?pid={0}. On my view page I have two listviews. One to display the photo and the details and one for the comments, both with the pid = query string field pid. The comments listview allows for inserting records and the insert template is located on the first field.
How can I make it that when I fill out the information (Name and comment) the pid of the query is transfered to the tblPhotoComments table in the database, so that when the page refreshes, it will display all the comments that have the pid of the query. I tried doing something with the insert statement in my sql statement, but couldn't seem to get it to work.
I have a search option which a person can use a multi select listbox. I have it coded so it would loop through to see if its selected or not. I also have a stored procedure where the sql statement is coded for the select statement. For some reason, its not populating my gridview. Where am I doing wrong? if the user want to access editpage , and he made some changes on listbox2 by removeing or adding more rows , it should be edited in database I need the best way to edit it , the way that I am doing now is deleting all record and then entring new record from listbox2 , but sometime it's adding duplicate record.
I have 2 asp.net pages. However, now I realized that I should had placed the content of the two pages in a
MultiView control with 2 tabs (each one getting the content of the pages that I had developed).
How can I do that? Should I place the hole content of the page in a View control inside the MultiView Control? this would be a lot of work =/
I do have a listbox control and a button to update values of the list box with few other values of the form to the database. If i select 3 values in the listbox, it has to update the database in 3 rows (Unique for Listbox value) with the other value being the same. I use a details value for inserting values.

I am designing a program that will let me enter the name of an item to swap and adds the swap to an array list when a button Add is pressed. Once the item is added to the array list a Sub Procedure should be called which displays the contents of the array list in a list box.
The system will also allow me to remove items from the array list using a Remove button
followed by updating array list.
I have done some part which puts item into the listbox1 which i named lstSwapList.I would need some assistance on the Sub Procedure to display the Value or Description on the other listbox2 which i have also named lstContent,if a value is selected from the listbox1.
I would also want to know how to update the Listbox content,However i hv added a sample of the way i guess it may be.
Any complete solution from anybody on the Sub Procedure and the Update Swap procedure will be greately appreciated.

I have this page, shown below. In the ASCX file, the data is generated using a DataGrid in which a user searches for fields and it displays results based on input criteria. This is using a stored procedure and parameters to perform this search. It then returns the results, populates a datagrid, now my question is how would I go about in my ASPX page having my disk icon allow a user to download a CSV of the data that has been returned in the ASCX page. I obviously need to run a command to generate the CSV file from the database, which I have all the code for, but my question really is how do I know what the user has searched for, or what results were returned I guess best put.

I have a web page with a gridview & formview (master/detail relationship) combo. On page load the gridview shows all records from a SQL table. On my page I have a button that when clicked shows the formview in Insert mode to allow users to add a new record to the data. I have also added a column to my gridview that has a link. When a user clicks this link it hides the gridview and shows the formview in edit mode with the detail from the record selected from the gridview.
In my formview I am using a listbox control to allow users to select multiple values. The choices in the listbox are populated by a SQL data table. I have successfully written code to post the selected listbox values to my SQL data field during Insert. When the user selects a record to edit I have code in the databound event to select values in the listbox from the choices based on the value in the sql data field. This works as well. My problem is that I cannot figure out the correct code to update my SqL data when a user is editing the record and makes changes to the selected listbox value. I have included my design code for my listbox in my formview edittemplate and also my behind code that I have attempted.

I have a detailsview which is used to input data into an SQL database. Some of the fields contain drop down menus which are populated from the database.
I also have a form that allows the user to select mutiple values from a listbox (populated from an sql database) by moving the required items from one list box containing all the available items into a second one containing the selected items. There is also a text box which is used to filter on the available items. When this is passed through to a stored procedure to be put into the database, it is passed as a comma delimited string containing all the selected values.
This works fine on a separate form, however I would like to include it in one of the fields of the detailsview. This creates a BC30451: Name 'ListBox1' is not declared error. I have looked for hours on the internet to try and resolve this but cannot find what I need for how to declare the list for use within the detailsview.

The user enters the quantity and checks the item(s) they wish to purchase. They accept their selection by clicking a button the sit within the ItemView

i have been trying to solve this issue for over a month and i tried many different things
i want my shopping cart list box to have items in it then I save all of those items in a session variable. I pull that session out on my checkboxlist page and I want it to autocheck all the items that were in my previous listbox that are now in the session
