It becomes more and more complicated, how can I access the commandArgument of a LinkButton inside a ListView that is in a Accordion control?

Use CommandArgument Property With LinkButton Inside Repeater?

Oct 15, 2010

The link button only sets some value as true and does nothing else. When I run the code the LinkButton's event just won't fire! In my aspx page I got this LinkButton inside of a repeater with CommandName="SetDefault", some ID, runat property. That's it. In my code, inside of myRepeater_Itemcommand(), I got this

if (e.CommandName == "SetDefault")
{
Users obj = new Users();
obj.IsDefault = true;
}

[EDIT] I resolved it myself. It was a silly mistake. "l" was missing from "SetDefault" in my aspx page.

AJAX :: Accordion With LinkButton OnClick Event Not Firing?

Apr 6, 2010

I have two problems with a databound AJAX Accordion. The Accordion looks like this:

[Code]....

The code behind has this subroutine:

[Code]....

[Code]....

The first problem I'm having is that this subroutine is not fired (I have a breakpoint in it) when the LinkButton inside the accordion is clicked. The Page_Load event fires and there is no error message, javascript errors, etc, but nothing else happens.

The second problem is that I'm not sure how to go backwards with the databind. I want to be able to make use of the UpdateMethod in the ObjectDataSource because I also have textboxes inside the accordion. I will have a Save subroutine that can be called but I'm not sure what code to put inside it.

Forms Data Controls :: Passing A Value To An ImageButton CommandArgument?

Nov 23, 2010

For a given MS SQL Database table of staff members, I'm using ASP to display each record line by line as follows:

So I've added 2 ImageButtons in an extra column and the problem I have is passing the record id as a CommandArgument to redirect to a secure page where the record can be edited or deleted.

Here's some code:

[Code]....

[Code]....

ctdRdr(0) evaluates to the ID value for the the record. )

When I click on the 'Delete' ImageButton the URL in the Response.Redirect becomes:

ctdirectory_secure/deletemember.aspx?id=<%@%20ctdRdr(0)%>

instead of, say:

ctdirectory_secure/deletemember.aspx?id=435

I'm assuming that a <%= expression %> cannot be used to set a control parameter, but how else can I do it?

Forms Data Controls :: Dynamic Delete LinkButton In ListView Error "Delete Can Only Be Called On A Valid Data Item"

Feb 22, 2010

I need you assistance, Dynamic Delete LinkButton with CommandName=Delete gives me an error: Delete can only be called on a valid data item. nfact I am designing a Complex Grid using .Net 3.5 ListView Control with Scrollbar and Fixed Toolbar: This grid consist of 3 Tables:

1- footer
2- Toolbar Control
3- Scrolling Data Grid with Header

ListView give us only one ItemPlaceHolder to Bind Data as per LayoutTemplate, so I cannot able to manupulate my Toolbar Controls with ItemTemplate :(, therefore I decide to use ItemDataBound to add ImageButtons Dynamically using Init Page Event and I am able to get the result as you saw above:

ImageButton with funnel icon is with CommandName="Filter"
ImageButton with magnifier icon is with CommandName="View"
ImageButton with stop icon is with CommandName="Delete"

Now I can able to handle Filter and View with OnItemCommand Event but when I click Delete button I am getting an error as shown below: The grid used CSS I am sending you the HTML and code behind to resolved this problem: HTML CODE:

Forms Data Controls :: Repeater Isn't Accessible From The Code Behind + AJAX Accordion

Aug 5, 2010

After much research, no solution can be found to do what I want by combining these two controls. Currently, I have a repeater control which, in page_load, takes the querystring and queries the database accordingly, puts the resulst in a datatable, and binds the datatable to the repeater. Everything works fine, no problem there. It's just that I have many columns coming from the query and there are many rows as well. So, I thought it would be easier to incorporate the accordion, so that the header of each accordion pane would show some unique fields (name, whatever...) as the header, and the rest of the many fields in the content. This way, there would be many closed accordion panes showing the name from the row returned. If the pane is clicked, the pane would open and show the rest of the results.

The problems I've had are that the repeater is not accessible from the code behind if it is inside the accordion. But I'm sure I wasn't doing it right anyways. I'm just trying to have an accordion that has as many panes as there are results from a datasource. If there is something other than a repeater that you can suggest, or the correct way to incorporate the repeater in the accordion to do what I want, suggest whatever! I just need to format how the results display how I want, unlike a gridview (I used tables in my normal repeater, and that worked fine, I just need to get that repeater to work inside of the accordion).

(and I know this isn't the section to ask about the accordion, but what is the AccordionExtender? It's not in the toolbox, and I can't find much online. It won't be recognized by Visual Studio, so I don't know what to do. If I could get that, I feel like it could solve my problem, as I found a possible solution online) I don't need to post my code, as it's a simple repeater, and trying to integrate it within the accordion isn't working no matter which way I try since I can't DataBind() in the codebehind. And yes, I tried to FindControl within the accordion but it wouldn't find the repeater.

Forms Data Controls :: Commandargument Wouldn't Change For Session As Long As I Didn't Refresh The Gridview?

Jan 29, 2010

I have a gridview set up as follows:

[Code]....

Now, as you can see I've set up the commandargument, and was expecting to get to that in my code behind file. My code is as follows:

[Code]....

Ok...so far so good, and as long as I'm the only one working on the system it works fine. The problem is if this scenario happens:

* I go to the page and look at the gridview

* Someone else enters a new record into the database, causing the first row to contain a new record (not displayed in my browser)

* I click select.

What happens then is that, for some odd reason, I will get n numbers higher than the one I actually selected (n = num_added -num_removed).

I was under the impression that the commandargument wouldn't change for my session as long as I didn't refresh the gridview...?... There are no ajax or anything else messing with postbacks or viewstate as far as I can see..

AJAX :: Accordion Inside Gridview Fetch Gridview Data When Expanding Accordion

Oct 27, 2010

using asp.net/vb.net 2005

I want to create an accordion inside a gridview with the following functionality:

The user will only see one field of the gridview initially, the ProductCategoryID. When the page loads it will only query the ProductCategoryID and this will be the only field displayed.

Next when the user clicks on the accordion to expand it inside the gridview I would like to query the database to get all Products that are part of the ProductCategory. I will query using the ProductCategoryID that is being displayed.

I need to do this for performance issues. The main thing I am looking for is how to query the database once the user expands a given ProductCategoryID.

but now I think of it one thing I need to know: when you bind an accordion to a dataset will it create one pane for each record returned? It might be better to put the gridview inside the accordion. I'm willing to do either, as long as it works
