I have "Order" object with Columns Ticket,OTP and CustomerName etc.Intially on DataGrid, I'm binding Ticket only , when user clicks on "Column Chooser" button, another windows appears to pickup CustomerName,OTP columns to add specified column dynamically on Datagrid. I want to dynamically bind dataset values into datagrid's header datafield.
Is it possible? To be more clear, when you click on datagrid's (Collection) from properties window, you get selected columns created from Bound column. So in those columns I want to dynamically display dataset's table values in those columns.
i.e like ds.Tables[0].Rows[0][0].
Is it possible to do it in Datagrid ItemDataBound function like,
e.Item.Cells[1].Text = ds.Tables[0].Rows[0][0]
or something like this? I know the above code is wrong and wont work since I tried it out and while building it throwed error saying, Cannot implicitly convert type 'object' to 'string'.
The scenario is this. I have a long page that has a scroll bar. I'm us an Ajax ModalPopupExtender and that too is very long and has a scroll bar.
The problem I'm seeing is that in IE when a user scrolls the modal popup window, when it reaches the bottom it also scrolls to main window which has a really ugly user experience.
So what I want to do is, through server side code, I want to dynamically change the body css overflow from auto to hidden and I can't seem to find a way to make that happen. I've tried a number of approaches and none of them seem to work.

I m having GridView with scroll bars. I keep those in Update panel to update without postback when I click on Previous and Next buttons outside the Grid. Now, I drag the scroll bar down and select a row. The row is getting highlighted and works fine but the Scroll bars Goes Up. If I remove the update panel, scroll bar is not going up but next and previous button events are not working

I would like the selectedvalue of the dropdown to display additional data base on its selection in multiple text boxes.
I have tried using the DropDownList OnSelectedIndexChanged property, within a DataGrid EditiItemTemplate, but I cannot retrieve data from the selection. (AutoPostBack is "True"). I can however use a button onclick event to fire a "prre-defined" selection value.

I want to shown horizontal scrollbars.The thing is that I cant use a asp:Panel to wrap this with which do works ofcourse because I am setting that <div> by reading in the whole <div> from a textFile and after this set this code, using the InnerHtml property. As I have tested you cant read in an asp:Panel and set that as InnerHtml. That didnīt work. So I wonder how I can solve this for this scenario. I am reading in ALL the <div></div> code from a textfile and need to put horizontal scrollbars here.Is that possible in any way?

I am using autogeneratecolumns ="false" and using some template fields.
It works when I use:

Me.DataGrid.Columns.RemoveAt(oldColIndex)
Me.DataGrid.Columns.RemoveAt(newColIndex)
Me.DataGrid.Columns.AddAt(oldColIndex, tempColumnOld)
Me.DataGrid.Columns.AddAt(newColIndex, tempColumnNew)
But it doesnt remember the added columns on postback, so I have to add them for every postback.
Is there a better way to implement it?
I have a datagridview control that I'm using to display cache data to the end used on a web form. The issue that I'm having is that every time I re-run the application, and the cache data is re-generated... it loads duplicate data that's being displayed to the end user. I can't seem to figure out how to keep this from happening.
What I would like to have happen is that only unique data rows be returned and cached for the end user. Unless there are new data rows on the database that needs to be included in the cache data results...the previous data results should not be duplicated. I've tried to change a few properties on the datagridview control, but nothing seem to keep this from happening.

I need to add a Button to the PlaceHolder depending on the values of the data I am binding. At the moment I am adding the Button after the data is bound in Page_Load. The problem is that the data binding methods are not called in postbacks, so the Button disappears when I click on it.
Problem is that I need to know some attributes of the grid item to create the Button, so I cannot create it before the data has been bound.
