Oct 15, 2010
in my web page griview is there, dis i wrote right click event using jquery in this context menu will openone option will be clicked(like New folder) the new page this gridview row data can be transferred to another page how.
iam using asp.net with c#, my grid contains 1st column is check box ,and paging is true ,iam displaying data from view that does not contain primary key, so based on this when user selects the no of checkboxes in 1st page and in another page some records then i want to transfer to another page gridview but it is not displaying. can you correct my code where iam going wrong
I have a 3 text boxes. When i enter datas in and click the button it displays the gridview with filtered data. Now my problem is if there is no data in gridview it has to show "no data" so I used emptydatatext property.. The problem is, in the page load itself it shows "no data"
I have a gridview that has allowPaging and AllowSorting set to true. It is bound to a sqldatasource with the selectCommand firing a sql query. The sqldatasource has EnableCaching = true, and caching duration = "60". The idea is to run the paging, sorting, etc from the cache.
A separate dataUpdate event updates the data that is being loaded in the grid view, but I am not able to see the change in the gridview data till 30 seconds (caching duration) .
What is the best way to force refresh the gridview data by the dataUpdate event?
I came across this artice that tells to use CacheKeyDependency, but when I implemented it, the gridview gets refreshed at every dataUpdate event, but also the paging and sorting fires the sqldatasource Selectcommand sql query. I want this query to be fired only on dataUpdate.
i m working on application that works similar to our email i.e when user enter his emailid and password his inbox should be display and those unread should be in bold and i have a treeview forinbox, sent, deleted .when inbox is selected the inbox detail should be displayed using gridview by default like in email the inbox data shoul be display on pageload so i have written databind code for grid view in page load event
I am using a Gridview binded to a LinqDataSource that represents a database view. The gridview paging is enabled. When navigating from page 1 to page 2, it displays the right count of rows in this page (assume pagesize is 10 and page 2 should have 4 rows only to have total of 14 rows in the view; the datasource), however, it populates wrong data (from the previous page). On the contrary, when I disable paging, everything works ok.
I have a gridview populated with data coming from a datatable. The data shown in the gridview is dependent on the the choice of a control (dropdown with autopostback enabled). When I load the page for the first time with Allowpaging prperty to false the gridview show all the data correctly. But When I set Allowpaging prperty to True the Gridview shows the data in all pages the same data in first page as when I click Seond,Third,..... pages I find the same data in the first page without changing
I have a page with a gridview control that shows files that have been uploaded to our site. The name of the uploaded files, who uploaded them, and if they have been downloaded, etc are stored in a table. The gridview is bound to the table through a sqlDataSource control. I have a button column in the gridview that downloads the file associated with a row when the button is clicked. All that works well. I have a check box column that shows checked if a file has been downloaded. When the download button is pressed.
the file downloads and then a short routine is run to update the downloaded field in the uploaded files table to set the downloaded field to true. This is done through a command string. All this works. Here is the question. After the update is run I do a databind on the gridview to update it. The databind is run in the PageLoad event is the page is a postback. This does not cause the current row to show downloaded =true (checked). If I refresh the page in the browser then it displays correctly.
In my gridview I got 7 colunms, the first is a checkbox colunm. When the user clicks the "From" colunms data IE "who the message is from" two need to happen. One the application navigates to the next URL and the user can read his/her mail, two and here my issue how do I transfer the data from each colunm to the next page...I was thinking session some how?
I've already searched to no avail for an answer to this question:is it possible to dynamically alter the page size in a paged gridview based on data in a particular column? In other words, let's say I get data from a table that lists students enrolled in a particular course. If there are 10 students in Course "A," then I want page 1 in my gridview to show 10 records.
If there are 15 students in Course "B," then I want page 2 in my gridview to show those 15 records, and so on.I imagine that this could probably be done with a master-detail kind of set up,but let's say for the sake of argument that I don't want to go that route.
now when i type something in header Search cell , it shows the data of first page index only , it won't show me data from 2nd page index .. here's my code :
protected void PhasesTempGrid_OnDataBound(object sender, EventArgs e){ GridViewRow row = new GridViewRow(0, 0, DataControlRowType.Header, DataControlRowState.Normal); for (int i = 0; i < PhasesTempGrid.Columns.Count - 1; i++) { TableHeaderCell cell = new TableHeaderCell(); TextBox txtSearch = new TextBox();
[Code] .....
My gridview is in update panel therefore i did this in .js script :
I am using grid view with row "data bound event" at row row data bound i am using some function with loops to fill drop down of grid view in template columns. grid view gets populated with selected index change event of drop down. my problem is the asp.net page is getting slower i mean when grid populates its taking some time and some time page get hanged what to do to get rid of it?
.I am new to asp.net.Is there any way we can limi the width of the gridview in the design mode.
I have to put 15-20 columns on the gridview. When I add columns to gridview the width shoots out of the page and the page design is seems ruined.
i placed it inside the panel and added scrol bars to it. it looks ok when debuggin i.e looks ok in internet explorer but in design mode it ruins the page design.
I have a grid view where the user can change pages at either the top or the bottom of the grid view. I want the view to go back to the top whenever a user changes the page, whether they are changing from the top or the bottom. I've tried using anchors and javascript to achieve this but it does not work. The javascript is executed and the user is taken to the top of the gridview, this can be seen by placing an alert after the javascript to change the view. But the last thing that happens on the page change is that the window is returned to it's previous position (the bottom of the page). Is there any way of doing this?
I have a gridview which is fairly straight forward... I've added paging to the gridview which functions correctly. However, after clicking any one of the page buttons (next page/last page), it appears some sort of a label is being displayed in my web form saying "NewPageIndex: 1". This changes from page to page displaying the actual index of the page. Why is this displaying? The only thing i can think of is the size of my gridview (Right now set to 1500 lines per page) . here is my gridview control html code:
i have gridview with page index 1,2,3,....... & having 5 records per page with 2 columns. i want to check checkbox from one page & also from 2nd page. for ex when i click on 2 checkboxes in 1st & change pageindex, again select one checkbox & again change pageindex to 1st then 2 checkbox in 1st page must be checked i.e their value must persist.
I'm new to ASP.net (and coding in general) and I was very impressed about how easy is to learn enough to create something useful :)
Unfortunately, now I'm stuck on a problem involving gridview sorting and paging: I created a master gridview bound to an sqldatasource, I enabled sorting and paging and then I linked it to a detailsview to enable editing and inserting.
In addition, I set up two other gridviews whose datasources depend on the master gridview.
When a user selects a row and modifies it in the detailsview, the sort takes place and the row is often moved to another page. This can be a little confusing, especially because there are other controls relying on the selected row of the master gridview.
There's a way to find and select the page of the selected row after gridview's databind and sort take place? I tried creating a dataview to search the index of the selected datakey in the databound event of my gridview, but it doesn't work, because it seems that the rows aren't sorted yet. Maybe I should choose another event?
how to pass value in GridView from Page1.aspx to Page2.aspx
In the GridView, I add one column that have CheckBox and the GridView have 5 rows then it will be 5 CheckBox.
What I would like to do is, when we checked 3 CheckBox from the GridView and click submit button, it will go to the Page2.aspx and display back the GridView but only display 3 rows that had been checked from the Page1.aspx I'm using VB
