I am using repeater for binding data from the database
in repeater i put one textbox.
first time when page load event occured at that time value of textbox is null but when second time textbox takes previously assign values..
so how to assign null to the textbox.
WHEN I USE IS NULL VALUE DIRECTLY INTO MY QUERY IT WORKS GREAT BUT WHEN I TRY TO ASSIGN IS NULL VALUE FROM A PARAMETER ITS WORKING BUT NO ROW RETURN.MY SP LOOK LIKE THISITS WORKING

i am working on a website,As i am new to coding i got a problem in it. It was,I hav a gridview in which i am adding the details about a college, and in that i had a buton ("btnReservation") on clicking it another grid will be appeared in which, i hav to enter the reservation details so, till this step it is working fine, but if i enter one college details and clicking on the btnReservetion the grid is being dispalyed and i am able to enter and save the data, But if i enter the details of another college and clicking on the btnReservation, the rows which i hav already entered in the Reservation grid for the previous record are not being Refreshed and are remaining the same,So now i hav to make the gridview datasource null.

So, I created a custom Textbox control that I've added a Data property to. I populate this data property with the unique row id. The problem is that when I post back the list and go through the repeater items the control's data property is null. The custom control looks like this:

I have a custom checkbox with the same data property and it works fine. I actually put in the same repeater with the textbox control and the checkbox control have the row id on postback but the textbox did not. Is there some limitation on the textbox control that might be causing this.

The goal is a facebook style interface where one users post can be commented on by another by clicking on a "comment" link. I am finding this some what difficult.
First - although I think that I will have to use a nested repeater, the initial issue is how to ID a text box that is embedded in the repeater.

In my gridview, I have 6 columns. The first 5 columns are filled with data retrieved from database.In the 6th column I want to display a value from textbox from same form. The value should be displayed on the row next to last row of rest of the columns. So my last column (i.e.) 6th column will just have all the rows filled with the same value of the text box.
First 5 columns of grid will be filled by selecting the college name from dropdown.The last colum (Date) must be filled with the date that is given in the textbox.It can be even after button click event(date of attendence).

I have a javascript in a .js file to pad zeros to the left of a number in a textbox. I have a textbox on a search screen for which this function works just fine. But when I tried to apply the same function to a textbox in a repeater on the data entry screen, it just does nothing. I would like to enquire about a seemingly basic problem that i am struggeling with. I have been trying to add information to an access database and as i am inserting this information I get the error message stating that I tried to assign the Null value to a variable that is not a Variant type. I was thinking that it could have something to do with the primary key being set to automatic number but this also does not seem the problem.

It Works in the Item Template since it is calling the "select parameters", but once it is in the "insert parameters" on databinds, I am unable to get this to work.

I have a nested repeater which displays a food menu - e.g.

I have a rather large formview that asks for a variety of input values (physical totals vs pos report totals). I have created vb code to calculate the differences and subtotals of various types prior to inserting the data so people can check for entry errors.
Its a closing reconciliation form. Here's the problem: If they forget to enter 0 in a field that doesn't have any totals, a big ugly error message displays. I would like to avoid this. I can tell them until I am blue in the face to remember to enter 0 and not leave any blank fields, but realistically its going to happen and I need to handle it in the programming.
I have been struggling to either default the values to zero to start with, replace a null textbox with 0 before the calculate runs...but I can't get anything to really work. What is the best way to handle this?

I can't seem to find the right combination of programming to account for the "" string to be 0 so that it will add or subtract values in my calculate. I have my sql table setup with default values of 0 so if a field is left blank it will be entered into the database as 0 and not null. It is really just for my inserting of a reconciliation and the running of Calculate Totals to double check their work prior to inserting into the database.

I've read the article on exporting a gridview having the same problem and how you replace the texboxes with literal contrls. I was wondering if there is an article like it only for a repeater control.
