Forms Data Controls :: Had Two Columns Written In The Page, Both Have A ItemTemplate?
Mar 5, 2010
currently i had two columns written in the page, both have a ItemTemplateI tried to bind an ArrayList into the gridview, and it worksProblem is:The binded data is added behind of the columns I written, and I want to set the visible="false" for the 3rd column and so on, when I did tat, it prompt an error message telling me the index was out of range, I tried to set the visible in Page_LoadComplete eventI able to set the 1st and 2nd written columns visible to false, what is the cause?
I need to display the same template column with same controls 7 times which I displayed for "Monday" in below code in gridview .If I just create the same column, it gives me an error of multiple controls with same id in Findcontrol. If I create itemtemplate column controls with differnet ids, the page will be heavy with controls and my client will not accetp at all.Is there any easy way to create and manage the same itemtemplate column in multiple columns in Gridview?
in asp.net page user able to select gridview Columns, and it will hide remaining columns and that selection done by check box with column list bellow is Image link , what exactly I am looking for [URL] it look bellow after selection of column done [URL]
I have done the itemtemplate and edittemplate, when I click on the button in itemtemplate, the edittemplate will show. But that row in itemtemplate will disappear. How can I keep that row in itemtemplate and ecotent in edittemplate both appear?
I created a gridview that is made up of 4 gridviews and using a stored procedure to populate it. I create columns at runtime because the number of columns changes all the time.To make the grids editable I am adding template fields at runtime as I create the columns, this is to ensure that a user is able to edit the cells and some foot values update. Reason why I have four grids is to freeze rows and columns like in excel using javascript. The problem is that performance is very bad especially in IE, the grids take a long time to load. I am not sure if this is caused by the data load or the creation of text boxes. see some of the code below for my _aspx page:
im working with an web application where i need to call a java script confirm message like (r u sure u want to proceed) in the text changed event of a text which is present in item template of a grid view.if the answer is yes i want to do some calculations if no then
protected void txtQuandity_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "Test", "Quantity();", true); } In java script-- <script type="text/javascript"> function Quantity() [code]...
I also have a working application that popukates my datagrid with valid data rows from my DataBase. What I cant figure out is how to get each of the hyperlink lables to NAVIGATE to the correct and corresponding aspx page!
For example I have 5 rows in the datagrid and each row has its own hyperlink, each row contains contact and a short profile on 5 diffrent companies. For example when i click on let say row 3 that has (eg) Jimmy's Big Prawn's Restaurant listed in the the datagrid, I want to be navigated to a webform page dedicated to Jimmy's Big Prawn Restaurant.
[Code]....
I am guesing it has to do with the bolded text above, but "details.aspx" is just an empty webform, I would like the hyperlink to point to (eg) JimmBigPrawnRestaurant.aspx.
I would like to know how i could display data from an itemtemplate or any other form views/data-bound controls without having it render in tables? i know theres control adaptors, but is this reliable and will it work with asp.net 3.5?
.I am new to asp.net.Is there any way we can limi the width of the gridview in the design mode.
I have to put 15-20 columns on the gridview. When I add columns to gridview the width shoots out of the page and the page design is seems ruined.
i placed it inside the panel and added scrol bars to it. it looks ok when debuggin i.e looks ok in internet explorer but in design mode it ruins the page design.
I am using a generic handler (indicator.ashx) to create a graphic that is overlayed from information from a table (called LIVE) from our SQL database. This is working very well and I am very happy with the results.
However I am having an undesirable issue where the query string that is used for this is also being accessed by another page (called ReceiveLive.aspx) which is populating our LIVE table with data when we don't want this. I have been able to track this issue down to our generic handler that seems to populate this table with data whenever the handler is accessed.
The query string that is used to access our graphic through our generic handler is http://mydomain.com/indicator.ashx?ID=ABC001.
Our other page that writes data to our LIVE database used the query string http://mydomain.com/live.aspx?ID=ABC001 which is normally only accessed by a small piece of software that sits on the users PC and sends the data when necessary.
My question is this: How do I prevent data from being written to our LIVE table via the Live.aspx page everytime a query string is processed by my indicator.ashx is accessed?
I am working with a webdatagrid control. It is fairly simple in that it has Three template columns. Each column contains a separate control; a dropdownlist, webdatepicker and a command button. The webdatagrid is populated using ado.net code and the dropdownlist is populated using a sqldatasource object. I have a command button external to the webdatagrid that I am using to try and add a new row to the webdatagrid. The intention is that a new row will be created at the bottom of the grid that will contain each of the three controls, including having the dropdown populated. I cant seem to find the correct code to do this. I have tried several methods and it has been going on for some time. Can someone tell me if t is possible to do this and if so can they point me in the right direction?
I have tried many different combinations to try to get this to work, but I cannot. In the ItemTemplate of a Repeater control, I have a <form> tag. For this third party button to work, each button needs to be surrounded by <form></form> tags. I cannot get the first iteration of the repeater to display the tag, but 2, 3 and beyond, it will. It doesn't make sense to me. Because of this, IE is displaying the page in a funky way.

i have a textbox in a itemTemplate inside a griview. It is called txtPIN. I need to retrieve the value the user typed in the txtPIN and determine if it matches. I did this:
For Each eRow As GridViewRow In gvTransaction.Rows CType(gvTransaction.Rows(eRow.RowIndex).FindControl("txtPIN"), TextBox).Text.ToString Next
I couldn't get the text value, I debugged and it retrieve
I was wondering if there is a way to hide the ItemTemplate. I am using listview and would like to hide the itemtemplate when i am inserting a new record. Im not sure how to or if it is possible to do.
I have a dropdownlist - ddlGroupName. Next to it, I have a Label - lblGroupName. The dropdownlist is bound to an SQL table, and displays the appropriate group depending on the primary key (contracters, suppliers, etc etc). When the page loads, I want the Label to display whatever is in the dropdownlist, then I can hide the dropdownlist and am just left with the label. I was using "lblGroupName.Text = ddlGroupName.SelectedItem.Text;", but intellisense doesn't seem to acknowledge the controls when they're in an ItemTemplate.
