View 4 RepliesI have two files in my project. One is user control (popup) customerpicker.ascx and one is default.aspx page. In customerpicker I have dynamically generated gridview and 'select' column with SelectButton.
What I want is this: When I click on 'select' on random row in gridview, then I like to display value from selected row immediately (like ajax) to aspx.page. How it is possible?
There is part of my code in .ascx:
public string showOnaspx { get; set; }
protected void GridView1_SelectedIndexChanging(object sender, GridViewSelectEventArgs e)
{
GridViewRow row = GridView1.Rows[e.NewSelectedIndex];
showOnaspx = row.Cells[1].Text;
e.Cancel = true;
}
protected void GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
GridViewRow row = GridView1.SelectedRow;
//row[i].Attributes.Add("onclick", "$('#ContentIndex_sometextbox).val(" + row[i].Cells[1].Text// + "); $('#Close').click();");
}
I also tried with jqeury (comment in selectedindexchanged function), but it does not work well, because user have to click SELECT two times to effect.
From an ascx page, I click a link that opens a popup aspx page(child). That aspx page has a gridview with hyperklinks. When I click on one of the hyperlinks of my gridview, I want to pass the value in that cell to a textbox located on my ascx page(parent). I try using javascript , but I can't get it to work. here is my javascript code and the gridview code:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function post_value(str) {
window.opener.document.getElementById('textbox1').value = str;
self.close();
}
</script>

I have created a UserControl [uscAuditTeam.ascx], there I have a Dictionary list and I added some values.

I'm developing an ASP.NET application with C# and Ajax.I have a page that holds user controls loaded dynamically. I need to pass some data (integer values and some strings) to the user control that has been loaded dynamically.Now I use Session to pass these values, but I think I can use another way; something like VIEWSTATE or hidden input.What do you recommend me?The fact that I load the controls dynamically is important because controls are loaded on every postback, and I can't store any value on controls.
View 9 Replies.NET with VB I have a simple Gridview written with bound columns that gives a summary of all projects assigned to the user viewing the page.
I am struggling with passing the value of my project_ID column of a row that is clicked. I have looked around all day at different things, one involved using TemplateField with and ItemTemplate instead to fill my coloumns in stead of BoundField. This worked nicely to draw my Grid with the correct data from my datasource. I still struggled with two things.1. Selecting the row either button or ondoubleclick like event that runs VB code on my .aspx.vb page 2. Then the code to set a variable to the value for my project_ID columnThis is so frustrating, this was soooo simple in MS Access that was an on doubleclick event. That I simple set up set the project_ID.value = gblproject_ID and then called the new forum with the datasouce of that form filtered on the gblproject_ID. I am starting to think moving my MS Access DB online to .NET is far over my head.
Senario: Masterpage with a UserControl and a child ASPX page
In the past when using this senario I've used an Interface as a way to pass a value from the UserControl (embedded in a master page) to the masterpage code behind then consume that value in the child aspx page.
My question is now that asp.net 4 have arrived is this still a good way to achieve this or is there another or perhaps better way to do it? I've read somewhere that perhaps "delegates" is perhaps another route to take.
I have a Menus user control and depending on which menu item the User clicks, the appropriate page is loaded by setting the hyperlink.NavigateUrl to the appropriate aspx page.I need to use the same page for 2 different menu items but I need to pass a value to the page so I know which data to load into it.Is there a way to pass the menu name or any other value from the usercontrol to the asp.net page?
View 12 RepliesI tried both, loading the usercontrol when needed and I also tried adding it directly into the aspx.
Nothing worked. With the second one (what's meant to be the easiest option) I tried with delegates and events (but can't access de usercontrol event from page) and tried with properties (I can access properties but they're always empty)
I cannot Pass the value from Display.aspx page to Display.aspx.cs thru '<%#FindAuditorById(Eval("FK_MM_AuditorsSysID") as int?) %>'.The secanrio:

Is ther a way I can tie DataSource to SqlDataSource on aspx page and pass select parameters?
I have a user control (ascx) which contains a control (hidden field). In the page_load event of ascx, i have the below code:
HyperLink.Attributes.Add("onclick", "JavaScript:return AccessControl('" + hdnField.UniqueID + "');");
Note: The hidden field resides in .ascx file.
I want to access this hidden field at runtime and i have the below javascript function in aspx page that loads the usercontrol.
function AccessControl(hdnFieldId)
{
var ctrl = document.getElementById(hdnFieldId);
alert(ctrl);
I am getting 'null' value in the alert. I tried using 'ClientID' and 'this' instead of 'UniqueId'. I am wondering why this is not working. I am using .net 2.0.
This is page load
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!IsPostBack)

But in my ascx.cs when IButton1_Click is trigered My name is null
private string _sname;

View 2 RepliesI have a GridView which contains photographs.
Each row has a "View Large" link which passes the image id to another page whereupon the image is displayed in a DetailsView.
That page has a "back to album" hyperlink.
All this works nicely, however, no matter what page the user was on in the GridView, having clicked through to the DetailsView and then back to the GridView, the user ends up on page 1 of the GridView.
How can I ensure the user comes back to the same page in the GridView that they were on when they clicked through to the DetailsView? Do I need to pass the gv.PageIndex value and send it back; can I just somehow tell the GridView to "stay where it was"?
Here's the code for the GridView (it pulls the image info from a SQL db:

View 7 RepliesI have a GridView with a SQL DB datasource.
I am using a HyperLink Field in the GridView to pass two of the values in each row to another page using DataNavigateUrlFields.
One of those values is straight out of the DB and, if I just pass that, all is well. The other, however, needs to a simple integer (1 - 10) and I've added a TemplateField containing a DropDownList manually populated with these numbers for this purpose.
I keep getting an error saying that the DDL value is not in the DataSource.
How do I add this field/value to the DataNavigateUrlFormatString?
