Are there any restrictions on using templatefields in gridview if the gridview is inside an updatepanel? If I click on the imagebutton, I get a exception which I can't seem to figure out.
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> [code]...
I have a user control that displays a shopping cart in an ecommerce application.
The main cart display is a repeater that renders as a html table. In one of those table columns, there is another repeater to display people associated with the products int he cart (it's a repeater in case there is a line item >1 with multiple people).
I've added an ImageButton that I want to use to change the person associated with the item. At first, when I'd click on it I was getting this error:
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.
So as an experiment I disabled EventValidation on the page (not the control it's self) and now I do not get an error, but I also do not ever hit the breakpoint I set in the innermost repeater's ItemCommand event.
So I wonder how I might do this without disabling EventValidation, because this control will show up on multiple pages and we don't want to edit them all. Also, I'll need to know not only the repeater containing the control's row that the event came from but also the row index of the repeater containg this one. Is this possible?

I have a gridview that have some boundfield and a table inside a tamplatefield. That table have 6 input (hidden) that binds when the page load.
How can I get the values of those 6 input inside the table from server side?
I know how to get the boundfield values , with
Dim selectedRow As GridViewRow = GridDetail.SelectedRow Dim fName As String = selectedRow.Cells(1).Text Dim lName As String = selectedRow.Cells(2).Text Dim Iname As String = selectedRow.Cells(3).Text
Just I started learning MVC pattern, of course i am learning it from Microsoft's website.Just i want to gather quiz information from the experts. My understanding is (correct me then and there)
1 ) MVC does not support server side events, but supports client side events. If it supports client side events, I need html page with jQuery/Javascript (view), but most of the example I absorbed is to display the information(model) in view, I did not see any client side event handling happens in view.
2) Except ViewState and controlState, MVC supports Sessions, Application State management, Cache management.
3) When request goes to MVC engine, the routing module routes the request that is picked up by the controller. The controller in executes the appropriate action and returns the appropriate view.
I need to create a TemplateField column dynamically , which will contain dropdowlist controls. I've been using this example to create my first dynamic columns and for the last column, the one that contains dropdowlist controls, I've written this class:
[Code]....
But what I don't know is, where should I populate the dropdownlist control?
How to change visibilty of panel based on imagebutton mouseover and mouseout here, i have panel1(Panel) and btnimg2(imagebutton) i want to show(Panel1.visibility=true) when mouseover happens on imagebutton and Panel1.visibility=false when mouseout on imagebutton
I have a SQL2012 database in the database in have a table with many cloumns one of the columns is date. on the gridview i am using a ItemTemplate field to display date
The Problem i having is that i am testing weather the date matches something and based on that it display "" else it should display the date based on the formotting but both are not working.
In my gridview, I have 6 columns. The first 5 columns are filled with data retrieved from database. In the 6th column I want to display a value from textbox from same form. The value should be displayed on the row next to last row of rest of the columns. So my last column (i.e.) 6th column will just have all the rows filled with the same value of the text box.
First 5 columns of grid will be filled by selecting the college name from dropdown. The last colum (Date) must be filled with the date that is given in the textbox. It can be even after button click event(date of attendence).
I have a table with lots of fields. To display every record that has lots of columns on a web browser will inconveniently force the users to drag the scrollbar to the right.
Is it possible to divide each record to two or three inner rows in gridview?
e.g. My table has these fields: - UPC - Description - AdType_Week1 - AdType_Week2 - AdType_Week3 - AdType_Week4 - AdType_Week5 - Price_Week1 - Price_Week2 - Price_Week3 - Price_Week4 - Price_Week5 - OrderStatus_Week1 - OrderStatus_Week2 - OrderStatus_Week3 - OrderStatus_Week4 - OrderStatus_Week5
Instead of showing everything in one header like this:
|-UPC-|-Description-|-AdType_Week1------|-AdType_Week2------|-AdType_Week3------| 01 banana type abc type def type feg |-Price_Week1-------|-Price_Week2-------|-Price_Week3-------| $97.51 $78.48 $41.45
I've been reading up on the problems with dynamically created controls and how they have been solved. The posts I have come across are creating the controls in a panel or some other open place. I can't seem to get my checkbox to fire the event from inside a gridview. below is the code behind from inside the GridView PreRender event.
[Code]....
..And the Checked Event.. [Code]....
So after all this, nothing happens. I get the postback flash but my command inside the checked event doesn't fire.I tried putting the dynamic creation of the checkbox in Page Load with no effect.. I think because I can't place the checkbox inside the GridView under page load.
I have a user control called ucTriStateButton. It raises an event when it is clicked, called TriStateButtonClicked. If I put this user control on a page, it works fine. Here is the declaration on the .aspx page:
[Code]....
When the button is clicked the method tsbTest_TriStateButtonClicked executes correctly.
The problem is when I put the user control in template field of a GridView.
[Code]....
There is no way to hook the event handler to the control in Page_Load because I cannot get a reference to tsbMorning. So I did it in the RowDataBound event handler of the GridView, where I also do a bunch of other row-specific stuff. Although this builds and runs, the event is never actually subscribed to and so never gets fired.
So the question is - how can I handle an event from many instances of the same user control within a GridView? I am calling the same bit of code regardless of which user control is actually clicked. I only need to know that one was clicked.
I am using datalist control in it I am using imgabutton control. When user click on any image that image should get highlighted. When user click on other image new image should highlighted and previous should become normal.I want to store index of selected image in a variable this index should change if user clickon other image.
I'm trying to change the visibility of a imagebutton to false, if the imagebutton.ImageUrl="". The problem is that the imagebutton is inside "ListView2", and "ListView2" is inside "ListView1". Who can I do this in vb code... or even a javascript.
