i am creating dynamic textbox onRowCreated event and its creating without any issue but the question is how to read value of created textbox when the use hit on update button?

View 3 RepliesI have a TextBox in a nested FormView that I want to use for entering a date. I have added a calender extender to the TextBox and I want to set TextBox to read only so that the date can only be entered by using the calender extender. This way I can avoid improper date formats.
The problem is that when I enter a new date and click the Update button, the new date is not saved to the database. I have done some searching on the WEB for a solution, and I found that "Page.Form.SubmitDisabledControls = True" is used in the Page_Load event to solve this problem. I have tried this and it does not work.
Another solution that I have seen is to set the control to readonly at runtime in the FormView "ItemCreated" event. I have been unable to access the "ItemCreated" for this FormView because it is nested.
I have created a web form in which i have used user control there is link button on different link button user control loads . i have added dynamically webcontrol to that link button . they are loading properly but when i try to save data through one of user control on click of button the user control disapper from that place but when i put static user control to my page its working
View 1 RepliesI have a grid view that is dynamically created.In which every cell in the girdview has a 2 textbox (cTxtboxQty,ctxtWorkOrder) and 2 label.
When user click on the cell, a pop up come out and user are able to change the text inside the cell and click save.After that the pop up close and changed data immediately reflected on the screen.
My problem is:
After my data are changed and updated to database on the pop up page and having it post back to the parent page , my dynamically created textbox in gridview retain old value even new value has been assigned to it.
This sound very weird but i have no idea how to solve this.

I have tested many times and find out that it might be the page hold the old value in memory, so that even we have updated the textbox value, after postback, it still keep and show the old value?
This was working fine and then I was tinkering around and I can't figure out what I did to break it. When I stepthrough the debugger, the for each stmt cannot read values from the radiobutton list or the textbox, it only show "" for each. I double checked the id names between the code behind and the markup.

I have a gridview with a date field. I don't want the user to be able to type in their own date and mess up the format so I made the property readonly. That date is then set by a point and click interface. This is all working fine but when the user clicks update this field doesn't update because it's readonly. If i turn readonly off it works so is there a way to turn off the readonly property right before submit?

I have a webform developed in VB.NET and I am facing a strange problem. In the webform I have a GridView control which has two bound fields (Item # and Item name) coming from a master table and infront of these two fields I have placed a TEXTBOX control as TEMPLATE FIELD to take any value of particular item. But after filling all the textboxes when i clicked on submit button it loops thru the items and there i need to read the textbox value of that particular item in a variable but unfortunately the value is blank even the data is there. I have a dynamic textbox appearing in a gridview on the row editing function. I have the following code to set the focus tot he textbox:

This works fine, but I would now also like to select the data in the textbox so the user does not have to select the text before typing, they can just type straight away. I have been trying to use:

txtTargetAmount1.SelectionLength = txtTargetAmount1.Text.Length
but this does not work.

I am Developing a database web applicationI am Creating web controls on page at runtime i.e in Page_Init event. No textbox are placed on .aspx page at design timeI have a datatable filled with a single record.now i want to bind a textbox (created at runtime) with a column of datatable so that when a page is loaded value in datatable's column is displayed in textbox.Other Important thing i want is when i make any changes in Textbox, It should be reflected automatically in a column to which textbox is binded. So while saving records i can save it directly from datatable. I dont want to write following tedious code before savinge.g.

I m getting Problem in Tab Index Setting of Dynamic Created Controls. There are 6 Drop down dynamic created and also Two user controls which contains text boxes. There are also Static Controls on a Page. How i set tab index for all controls. I have try to give from code behind using TabIndex property But it's not working and Tab order get destory.
