I am currently trying to implement a small class attendance system, where the student names are taken from a database, stored in a List<Student>, and bound to a Repeater control. Each row of the Repeater contains two columns: The first is the student's name, and the remaining column contains a RadioButtonList with three ListItems (Present, Absent, Sick).Now, once the user presses "Submit", I want to be able to store their attendance status based on the user selection. However, after submission, the SelectedIndex is always 0, no matter what option is selected.

I want to display a menu (which will be strongly typed with it's own unique model) across all pages only if a user is logged in.What menu items are available depend on the user's role and also I'll need to hit the repository to get numbers like "x Messages", etc
Been scratching my head for a simple solution here. Don't want to create something that need changes all over the place.All my controllers derive from a BaseController, all my Models from BaseViewModel....probably where I'll be implementing functionality for this.

I am planning a project for a pharmacy to enter quality control data to generate reports and graphs with Crystal Reports. There are 20 stores, I need to password protect the entrance page, giving each store their own username and password (just one per store is fine), allowing the store to only access that store's data. Each store will have an associated ID in the MSSQL table.I am using the Membership Provider. I know I need to implement user roles for Managers and Stores levels (Managers can run reports for all stores), I wonder if I can set the default store ID for insert/edit templates after that specific store logs in.Basically, I think I need to filter SQL queries based on the store ID associated with a user ID. I have seen a .NET site that, after logging in, you type in a store id into a textbox, and it gives you access only to that stores data. Something like this would work for my situation.Can anyone explain or show me an example for the best method to accomplish this with C#?

I have form in ASP.Net 4 (C# backend) that a user fills out to enter a new game quote into my DB. I have created the form and this lets the user add only a single quote at a time, what I would like to do is give the user a drop down box to let him/her choose to add up to 5 quotes at a time. The problem comes in how to generate the extra input forms based on what the user chooses. I have been going over my ASP.Net 4 book but it really does not cover this.

I have a tricky requirement where I need to categorise documents attached to a product, available for download, based on the status of the user viewing the product. I.e. my site displays a list of products, clicking on one displays a product details page, and this page includes a list a documents related to the product, such as data sheets, user manuals, etc.
I have been asked to group documents into three classes of availability, v.i.z. those available freely to all users, including anonymous; those available to logged on users; and those available to anonymous users that provide contact information before downloading the document, presumably to boost sales leads.
The anonymous and logged on availabilities are quite easy, but the third seems a bit tricky to me. My first question is, is there a way I can filter documents for only logged on users without hooking into ItemDataBound or something, and my second question is, what is recommended for the case where a user must supply contact information to download a document?
In the second question, it has crossed my mind to actually register the user, but without them having to visit the new user registration page, and then I have role based filtering of documents. Currently the new user registration process automatically adds the Member role to all new users. Users I register 'quietly', just so they can download a document, wont be assigned the Member role, distinguishing them from normally logged on members.

Now, based on user selection say, 'Car', I want to display Help text associated with selection on page. Help text description - 1000 characters. Now, how do I fetch Help Text Description from? should I store in Session scope or Application Scope or fetch from Database based on drop down selection.

Using checkboxes, can the row of record(s) be inserted into a database? I am populating a Gridview. Done. A checkbox field has been added, when the user selects one or more rows, a submit button (which is not working) needs to inserting those records into a table. The insert statment will work outside of the page but is not working using the scenario I jut described. Is this task as I have outlined doable?

i want to see the sales in the grid view based on the month selected from drop down list. Ex: when I select June 2010 from the ddl box, the sales for that month are correctly displayed in the grid view. I go to page 4 to look at some sales there and then switch the month to August 2010 to see sales for that month instead. Here is the problem. When I switch the month, it show August 2010 sales, but stays in page 4 instead of going back/resetting back to page 1 of August 2010 sales.
How do I reset the grid view page back to the first page of August 2010 sales?
I am fairly new to ASP. If I have missed an imp. detail in this post, let me know and I will get that info. out there.

I have to select checkboxes besed on group column values. If you see below gridview, column 3 (GroupN) has 1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2....etc (this column data is not static, will change based on page index. i.e PageIndex =2 may starts with 7,7,7,8,8,8,8,8,9,9,9 etc).
Now My question is.
1). If user selected '1', we have to store value and user must and should select another '1' (atleast two times).
2) If user selected '1', and user trying select '2'. Giving error says "Must have select one then one record in group to combine' (will not allow) and unselect '2'.
3) If user selected '1' atleast two times, and user trying select '2'. Will allow.
4) If user selected '1' atleast two times and selected '2' one time, trying to select '3'. will not allow user to select '3'.

To what extent our institution is useful for you Dropdownlist1(Good/Poor).When user select the Poor form the Dropdownlist1 in that case ONLY POPUP screen will be displayed.The POPUP Screen as follows

As per ListBox Items a data should show in GridView by using UP and Down arrow keys. I tried by using Oonselectedindexchanged but when a page loads from listbox the cursor become active to inactive.
