I'm getting this error when I try to load the WSDL for my Asp.Net WebService.
faultCode "Server.Error.Request"
faultDetail "Unable to load WSDL. If currently online, please verify the URI and/or format of the WSDL (http://myurl/web/Service.asmx?WSDL)"
faultString "HTTP request error"
here is the code:
service = new WebService();
service.addEventListener("fault", onServiceFault);
service.addEventListener(LoadEvent.LOAD, onWSDLLoaded);
service.loadWSDL(url);
I've done a ton of googling and found several possible solutions but it does not appear to be any of them. I'll go through what I've tried.
1) I can open the link in a browser IE and FF.
2) There's no user signed certificate required
3) My crossdomain is setup correctly
Here's the really interesting part, it works if I compile and run with Flex SDK 3.2 but I was trying to integrate AIR 2.5 for some features that are required and so I updated to Flex 3.5 w/ AIR 2.5 on top. If I build with this SDK it does not work.
I've used an HTTP traffic montior(Fiddler) to looked at the requests and noticed that with the 3.5 SDK it does not ever send out the request. So it must be something in the flex side, because it's obviously never getting to my service.
I have just deployed my ASP.NET MVC 2 application using EF 4 and I am getting the following error:
Unable to load the specified metadata resource.
On my local machine it runs fine with no errors. This error only comes now when I deployed to the server. I have my enity data model file in MyProject.EntityModel. I used the POCO entity generator to separate my context and entities. These 2 are in another project called MyProject.Entities. I have the connection strings in the app.config in the 2 projects exactly the same. The connection string in the web.config in my MVC app is also the same. I'm not sure why this is giving me issues? I'm also running the app in IIS (that comes with Windows 7) and it works fine. The IIS version on the server is 6 (I think). Here is the full error message:
InnerException Message: Unable to load the specified metadata resource. I have an asp.net 3.5 application. When i try to load the application it says: Exception Details: System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'VSPerf100.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
The application works fine on my win 7 machine. i tried the same on win server 2008 r2 where in i get the above message.
I have had some web services running for some time now without any problems. Recently I tried to update the webservices in the project they run from but keep getting the error: Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://server/ErrorEmails.asmx?wsdl'
When I tried adding the web reference to the project from scratch I get he following error: 'Unable to download the following files from http://server/ErrorEmails.asmx?wsdl'
Now I can see what the problem is: the 'server' part of the url is pointing to the internal server name instead of the actual url. I have not changed anything in the web services themselves or the projects which include them. If I copy the exact same webservice to a different folder on the server it can connect with no problem. This makes me believe its an issue with the directory on the server, however the server administrators say that this is not the case.
How has this error come up all of a sudden and what is the solution? .. I have read various forums on creating proxy classes, adding code to web config file etc but don't see why this should be done when it worked fine to start with and still works fine in a separate directory on the server!
I have a WCF Web Service that my ASP.NET app uses. It has been working fine for quite some time. I just added in a Dev Express Grid (and the Dev Express DLLs) and a new page that uses them and now I am getting parsing errors on the WSDL. But the weird part is that it works fine on my machine but fails on the web server machine. (Both are connecting to the same web services WSDL.) Here is the error message I am getting:
Server Error in '/MyWebAppWebDev' Application.

I am completely stumped on this. I have checked my web.config endpoint address and it is spot on (and notably is not in the error message above).
Things I have tried:
Giving permissions to C:Windows emp to my Website user name Giving permissions to C:Windows emp to my App pool user name Checking to see that none of my data contracts are generic and have IsReference=true in them.
I am using profile services to store some attributes of users registered in the website. Now I am making a display profile page for a user. The problem is that the profile loads easily when I am running the site from VS 2010, but it gives the following error when I run it from IIS7 on my local machine:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have started a new MVC application (I am new to MVC and ASP.net in general) I am trying to write a custom provider class that overrides the MembershipProvider class.

i use vs 2010 ultimate. i created a 'asp.net web application' from scratch, right clicked app_data and added a new sql server database (named MyDB), built two tables and saved it, added a 'ado.net entity model' to my project(named EDM_MyDB). then i dragged and dropped a 'list view' and 'entity data source' on my default.aspx. i tried to configure my 'entity data source' instance. in configuration window, underconnection string i tried to choose my entity instance (which i'd created before) but suddenly a popup message came up and said: The metadata specified in the connection string couldn't be loaded. Consider rebuilding the web project to build assemblies that may contain data. The following error(s) occurred: Unable to load the specified metadata resource.here is my whole connection string tab:
I have created a web site and using System.Data.SqlServerCE dll.
I added this dll from the path:"C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8Common7IDESystem.Data.SqlServerCe.dll"
And I run the web site in MS visual studio 2005 and all work fine and no error.
I created a virtual directory and deployed my web site to the server. Then tried to browse the page.
But when i tried to Browse the page on the Virtual Directory from server i got this error :.
Unable to load DLL 'sqlceme30.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
I though i have missed out some dlls on server , so i tried to run my web site on the same server using Visual Studio 2005 but it still works perfectly. I dont know why when i deployed to the virtual directory then it become not working...
Ive got some custom code that im using to load user controls dynamically depending on the option a user selects from a menu control on the page.
I wanted to create an admin page that can be used to provide a one stop shop to complete all actions within an app im building, (like a template/iframe scenario that loads all selections in a screen on the right)
My code works, however when the user has completed an action sucesfully within one ascx, then selects another from the menu on the left, it wont load the new control, it comes up blank like it hasnt refreshed properly meaning that they have to close down the page and reopen it. (which is very annoying)
My codes below, can someone take a look and see if they can see whats wrong.
I have a web application with root namespace called mywebapp The web application has as folder under root. Call it folder1. Now this folder contains a default.aspx page with code behind vb file class file. Call it subdomain1. Now when the default.aspx page under folder1 is requested, following error is shown Parser Error Message: Could not load type mywebapp.subdomain1. There is no problem what so ever when I run it localhost. Error is only thrown when the page is requested online. I also made some changes in a page in root folder to verify if the mywebapp.dll is correctly copied to the webserver. All the changes done for root folder are correctly reflected online
