Web Forms :: Getting File Details (size/creation And Modification Dates) Of A Ftp File
Nov 13, 2010
Is this possible to get the details like size, creationdate, modification date of a file hosted at some ftp server? I can download/upload files to ftp directory using ASP.Net but my requirment is to download the last modified file. So can we sort files of a ftp directory by modified date using ASP.Net code?
I am using file upload option in asp.net web application, how to display filename, date and time of file creation, modification date of file that we browse.
i am uploading a file through file upload control , file size has greater then 4 MB, I have to give the proper alert msg to the user that file size exceeding the limit.how to do it , because at server side it is crashed on the IIS and not return to the server to check the file size validation.that how it is possible to validate the file size and give the proper alert messege
it's possible to protect aspx page from modification in a production environment?
I explain: We are developping a web application that is installed in our customers environments so once it's installed we don't manage it.
This application manages critical and encrypted data that the IT (of our customer) should not have access to, for instance their customer's password. So I would like to know if it's possible to prevent any modification of the aspx page to insert script to retrieve session data or catch keyboard entries once the web application is installed.
I have started to get confused with the setting and security issues of asp.net. Hope someone could answer me. Problem 1: I am curious why we have to encrypt connection string, appsetting and more in the web.config file even though file listing is set to "not allowed" on server setting. Does it mean some strangers can still view and steal such file from server? Problem 2: I know that session id is sort of protected but could hacker be able to change the information inside ? Let say hacker browser my webpage and some data are stored in the session cookies, could they change the information inside the session cookies?
I am trying to save the xml file after modification in a diffrent location. the code is as belowServices.Save(Server.MapPath("~/ResourceFiles/data.xml"))I have given full control permission to the folder. Now sometimes the file saves properly and some times it does not save. OS is Windows 2003 server 64 bit.
With the ajax file uploader, would it be possible to check the size of the image before uploading?Currently, it uploads the file to the server and then lets me know that it's bigger than the limit size.
I calculate the total size of my PDF file which is mentioned below. What does this return? When I download a 2KB file, it returns a size of 2KB, which is correct. But when I download 2 files each of size 2KB, then the total size it returns is 2.16KB. Is that correct? Should it return 4KB?
I'm rather new to the topic of designing web applications, and during my attempts to create something i stumbled upon a rather tricky question. For my application I want to do a user control with which user will be able to select a file from a hard drive and upload details about this file. I dont want the user to send the whole file, just the details about it. For example lets say user selects a mp3 file. I dont want the whole song to be uploaded but i want the details about that song like the Author, on Album etc. Is something like this possible without uploading the whole file?
I tried looking up that topic on the internet but i found nothing... though i dont believe I am the first one with such a dilema;]
First of all, i have multiple aspx files in my project that run fine when i build my project, however, something has happened and im no longer able to run "NEW" aspx files. I continually get the error "Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'newebrpss.Contracts'." which doesnt make sense because
[Code]....
Keep in mind..all im doing is just creating the file through right click project>>>new item>> Contracts.aspx and hit run only to get this.
I have to create a windows service which Monitors a specified folder for new files and does someprocessing on it and moves it to other location. I started with using FileSystem Watcher. But my boss doesn't like FileSystemWatcher and wants me to use polling on Timer or any other mechanism other than File System Watcher. I am confused right now. It would be great if anyone could point me to some examples for how to monitor Folders without using File System Watcher in .net environment.
I have created a simple email form and when I try to attach file more than 2MB it just crashes with generic error message. I can't find the right keyword to bing (google) it.
i m uploading file using fileupload control. when i upload mp3 file with more than 4 MB size it gives error like page can not be displayed. how can i increase capasity of uploading file in my project.
have a Page that automatically generates a file and sends it to the Response. I need a Dialog to be shown during the file creation and hidden after the browser download dialog appears.
I have an application that lets the use upload a pdf, I wanted to put a limit on the size the pdf can be. If the user tried to upload something too big I wanted to display a message to the user. I am trying to use a custom validator where it checks the size of the file and if it is too big it will set the "IsValid" to false. Is this the correct way to go about doing this? Is there a better way? When I test it, everything works in IE 8 and FF, but it does not work in IE 7 and can't figure out why. Here is what I have so far, this is on my aspx page:
Is there any way to check the size of a file that is being uploaded before its uploaded? Below i have code that works, but it doesnt check the file size until its uploaded.
