Is this possible to get the details like size, creationdate, modification date of a file hosted at some ftp server? I can download/upload files to ftp directory using ASP.Net but my requirment is to download the last modified file. So can we sort files of a ftp directory by modified date using ASP.Net code?

I have a file upload feature on one of my pages. I can upload multiple files and save them to the server. The problem is the uploaded files all have "todays" date. My requirement to preserve the uploaded files original date, the client file date. FileInfo.LastWriteTime or CreationTime only has "todays" date. Is there a way I can preserve the client file create date?

it's possible to protect aspx page from modification in a production environment?
I explain: We are developping a web application that is installed in our customers environments so once it's installed we don't manage it.
This application manages critical and encrypted data that the IT (of our customer) should not have access to, for instance their customer's password. So I would like to know if it's possible to prevent any modification of the aspx page to insert script to retrieve session data or catch keyboard entries once the web application is installed.
I have started to get confused with the setting and security issues of asp.net. Hope someone could answer me. Problem 1: I am curious why we have to encrypt connection string, appsetting and more in the web.config file even though file listing is set to "not allowed" on server setting. Does it mean some strangers can still view and steal such file from server? Problem 2: I know that session id is sort of protected but could hacker be able to change the information inside ? Let say hacker browser my webpage and some data are stored in the session cookies, could they change the information inside the session cookies?
I am trying to save the xml file after modification in a diffrent location. the code is as belowServices.Save(Server.MapPath("~/ResourceFiles/data.xml"))I have given full control permission to the folder. Now sometimes the file saves properly and some times it does not save. OS is Windows 2003 server 64 bit.
I'm not really much of a programmer but I've been working on something in visual web developer and VB...'ve got an asp.net page with a fileupload control and two buttons. One button is used to upload the file and then the other button does something else which involves accessing the file name of the uploaded file.
This is straight forward enough if you just use static text but I wanted to create a unique file name for the upload so thought about using a date/time value for this and delcaring it as a variable?This works great but how does the second button then access this file name? If I use the same variable name declared earlier it just generates a new one especially if mins and secs were used?
I'm not sure if that makes sense? But I'm basically wanting to create a unique file name for the uploaded file and then store that in a variable so it can be accessed by the other button? Without the variable constantly updating to a new ID?
I am using HTML file control and HTML image control in .aspx page (for uploading image and showing on web page). It is working fine. But I am unable to get that uploaded image file path and file name in .aspx.cs page. And also tell me how to save selected image in MS ACCESS database.
I am using the async file upload control to upload to a image file. I want the user to upload only jpg files. And for that I am checking the uploadedfile content type in server side, after the upload complets. I wanna check this, before upload starts. There is one javascript method
function startUpload(sender, args){}
but how to access the content type of the file selected by user.
I am generating report through report viewer.. I want show my record which date i select but it cant select data from date which are giving it taking system date to display data...
Example: I select 2013-11-15 it does not showing any data but when i change my system date to 15 it is showing data...
I have 2 aspx pages. A&B. The page B.aspx contains Fileupload and Update button. When I Navigate from A.aspx to B.aspx the fileuploader must automattically select a file in the client machine (say C:TempTestFile.jpg). The Filename (TestFile.jpg) is already exists in our Database.
I want to upload files to the web servers from the client machines.
Can i upload a file on a network share folder using file upload control?
I would like to create a share folder on a file server sitting next to the web server. If i upload the file from the network share folder instead of uploading it from the client machine does it make any difference?
Will the file be stored in a temporary location before copying to the final destination? Where will be the file stored in this case of uploading it from share folder?
I'm saving a file with the asyncfileupload ajax plugin from the ajax toolkit and when I save it I'm changing the filename (to avoid multiple files with the same name).
After the file is uploaded, the user needs to know what the file has been named so I'm using this javascript code on the onclientuploadcomplete event.
function UploadComplete(sender, args) { alert(args.get_fileName()); }
This works except it gets the old name, not the new name (which is determined server-side). Is there any way to get it to return the new name rather than the old name? Or any work around to achieve this?
This is my code in the code behind the get the new filename:
I would like to ask some help from you guys on how do i do this problem. I'm using asp.net and my problem is on getting the list of filename inside the folder. Is there a function on this? I tried this on console apps there's a function like GetFileName. Hope somebody could help me on this.
My understanding of Factory Method Pattern is (Correct me if i am wrong) Factory Method Pattern "Factory Method allow the client to delegates the product creation (Instance Creation) to the subclass". There are two situation in which we can go for creating Factory Method pattern.
(i) When the client is restricted to the product (Instance) creation.
(ii) There are multiple products available.But a decision to be made which product instance need to be returned. If you want to create Abstract Method pattern
You need to have abstract product Concrete Product Factory Method to return the appropriate product.
public enum ORMChoice { L2SQL, EFM, LS, Sonic } //Abstract Product public interface IProduct { void ProductTaken(); } //Concrete Product public class LinqtoSql : IProduct { public void ProductTaken() { Console.WriteLine("OR Mapping Taken:LinqtoSql"); } } //concrete product public class Subsonic : IProduct { public void ProductTaken() { Console.WriteLine("OR Mapping Taken:Subsonic"); } } //concrete product public class EntityFramework : IProduct { public void ProductTaken() { Console.WriteLine("OR Mapping Taken:EntityFramework"); } } //concrete product public class LightSpeed : IProduct { public void ProductTaken() { Console.WriteLine("OR Mapping Taken :LightSpeed"); } } public class Creator { //Factory Method public IProduct ReturnORTool(ORMChoice choice) { switch (choice) { case ORMChoice.EFM:return new EntityFramework(); break; case ORMChoice.L2SQL:return new LinqtoSql(); break; case ORMChoice.LS:return new LightSpeed(); break; case ORMChoice.Sonic:return new Subsonic(); break; default: return null; } } } **Client** Button_Click() { Creator c = new Creator(); IProduct p = c.ReturnORTool(ORMChoice.L2SQL); p.ProductTaken(); }
