what is function that event in gridview control
protected void GridView1_RowCommand(object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e)
I got a strange issue with Gridview in ModalPopupExtender. The OnRowCommand event of the GridView control does not get fired on the first clicking on the button. It will get fired on and after the second clicking.
Code is below.
I have two gridview in a single webform, I need to fire one gridview RowDataBound event from another one gridview's RowCommand.
View 3 Replieswhy the gridview RowDataBound event fires during a select command. I only expect it to run when the gridview is being populated with data. Is there some way to stop it from running when the select command is triggered?
View 3 RepliesIn a nested GridView (GridView inside a template column of parent GridView). I am binding child GridView to a DataTable in parent GridView's RowDataBound event. this works as it should. But the problem i am facing is in Child GridView's RowDataBound Event, when i try to access e.Row.DataItem property it returns null. I am expecting it to return DataRowView Type. which i will then use to set values of TextBox's.

Basically, I have a gridview and it has RowEditing function, which to be fair has two lines of code
GridView1.EditIndex = e.NewEditIndex;
GridView1.DataBind();
When I press the edit button from one of the row in gridview, it hides the whole gridview!
To bring it back, I have to call the function which does the binding and suprisingly, it loads back in edit mode!
I have a GridView that is populated via a dataset that contain 1 table. I have enabled paging on my GridView.
In my Updating event, I handle the new values and call a store proc to update my database with the new values for the selected row. In order to minimize the call to the DB, instead of getting back a new dataset with the updated values, I simply update the row of the dataset that I have in session with the new values and then I bind back my gridview.
The problem that I have is since I have let's say 5 pages of 10 row... If I update a row on the first page as soon as I click update, the gridview will show the new values. However, if I select page 3 for example, click on update and update the values, once the update is done, the gridview will still be displayed with the old values.
I am having a gridview control inside another gridview control. Well.,, when i click on the edit button the second gridviw inside the 1st one should bind with a data source. I am using the sqlDatasource and configured it,In which event of the gridview i need to write the code for binding the records .
View 2 Replies Below code, i need the RegularExpressionValidator on key press event/On change event. I need to validate same time while user doing input.

i do not know what is going on my firefox!
my aspx and javascript codes are like this :

when i type something in textbox 1,2,3 so i see just first alert (mean a,b,c).
I have a dropdownlist outside the gridview control. My griview control also have dropdownlist in the first column. I want to populate the dropdownlist inside the gridview control for all rows when the selected item is changed in the outside dropdownlist.
View 2 RepliesI have a list of properties in a gridview. I have a property ID column. I have a delete column. On clicking delete, after the delete event has been fired e.g. gridview_rowdeleted. I want to get the propertyID of the deleted column in order to set it to the session("propertyID") usage is the use that propertyID in another function to delete associated property Images.
View 5 RepliesI have a GridView with ItemTemplate and EditTemplate. There is some text boxes in EditTemplate. I want to update records myself using EditTemplate controls. Which event of GridView I should use? If I use Telerik's RadGrid then what event is better?
View 1 RepliesHow can I get the row leave event of a GridView?
View 1 RepliesI want to delete one particular row in Gridview. So I need ID, How can I get the ID of the row in GridView_RowDeleting Event?
Here is the column list of the GridView,

<asp:Label ID="lblSrno" runat="server" Text=''

But none of the above has not given the desired result.
How do you get an invisible button in a Gridview templatefield (button1) to become visible when the mouse is over the panel it's within (panel1) and then disappear once again when the mouse has been moved out of the panel. Also, how do I change the panel's background color depending on whether the mouse is over it or not? By the way, I'm trying to get the panel to change color and the button to be exposed ONLY for the record pointed to and not for all the records.Below is a simplified version of my Gridview.
View 4 RepliesI have a gridview with rows of data and a group of radio buttons for each row that can be selected. But when selected the event never fires for the radio dropdown.... why?
[code]....
I have a gridview with one column of checkboxes and other columns with different custom controls. What I want is that when a checkbox is checked an event is triggered which toggles the visibility of other elements in the row .
View 1 RepliesI have come across odd behavior involving nested gridview controls and row events. Basically the nested gridview row event will not fire unless it is in the last row of the outer grid. If you explicitly add the row event property to the markup (e.g. OnRowDeleted="gvInner_RowDeleted") then the row event fires for all nested gridviews however it fires twice for the nested gridview in the last row of the outer gridview EDIT: I should note that I am using the SqlDataSource for the outer gridview as it is also editable. This isn't clear in the example.

How do I get the old values in a gridview row in the row_updating event? I'm using a sqldatasource control to populate the grid and want to write the update code in the RowUpdating event. There are 10 fields displayed in the grid. I can get the value of the first field using string old_Category = e.OldValues[0].ToString();.
But it doesn't work for index items greater than 0. This doesn't work string old_Category = e.OldValues[1].ToString(); it returns an error message Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index. even though there are 10 columns in the grid.

I was just wondering what is the best way to fetch gridview data using row databound event of gridview. I am previously used to Eval but read its not recommended as it uses reflection.
View 1 RepliesI have a GridView, which features a a checkbox on each row (in a template field), where it calls a method upon checked changed (well, when they click submit - no auto post back)
My problem is, the checked change refuses to fire more than once - if I just change the check state of one checkbox in the grid, it works fine. More than one and it only fires the event once.
EDIT: Bit of code:
<asp:CheckBox ID="chkIncludedLocal" runat="server" Checked='<%# Bind("Included") %>'
Enabled="true" OnCheckedChanged="chkIncludedLocal_CheckedChanged" />
And in the event, I put a breakpoint right at the top to see how many times it fires
I have created a gridview in code behind (as in its not physically present on the page). I want to know how to call it's rowdatabound event - as data is being bound to it. There happens to be a Gv.RowDataBound function, but how do I use it? (I want the same functionality as what the asp:gridview control has for its onrowdatabind attribute...)
GridView Gv = new GridView();
Gv.AutoGenerateColumns = false;
BoundField one = new BoundField();
one.DataField = "one";
[code]...
ode if Gridview has no row then label.visible = falseie when datasource of Gridview returns no data.How to code it in page load event ?
View 7 RepliesI have a web form that contains a set of navigation tabs and also a gridview.Right now, the tabs use javascript to change which one is selected by the user.I need the gridview to change depending on which tab is selected. But I'd need something in the code-behind to recognize that the user clicked on a different tab.
