I'm using javascript to change some settings of asp button on mouseover. It is working in IE. But not working in Firefox. Is there any other javascript code that will support almost all browsers? My code is as follows
Unusual one this - IE7 and IE8 both behaving, but Firefox isn't. So, I suspect that I have done something wrong which I am "getting away with" in IE.....I have a DynamicPopulateExtender (DPE) and two ModalPopupExtenders (MPE). A Javascript function shows the first MPE (a "please wait" message) and then retrieves the DPE. When the DPE finishes retrieving, its populated event fires - that hides the first MPE and shows the second one which holds the results retrieved by the DPE.I know that I could have used built in functionality within the DPE to display the "please wait" message. However that would mean displaying the MPE before populating the DPE. I can't do that because I want to size the MPE depending on what comes back from the DPE.So, this is my Javascript:
[Code]....
As I said, it works fine in IE7 and IE8. In Firefox (and Opera and Safari), the "please wait" appears and then nothing else happens.
why the gridview RowDataBound event fires during a select command. I only expect it to run when the gridview is being populated with data. Is there some way to stop it from running when the select command is triggered?
i am currently developing an asp.net project. there is a previous, next, and cancel button that the user can utilize, but the problem is that everything is broken into controls so that if they hit the browser's back button it will reset everything and take them to the very beginning. i would like to capture the onbeforeunload event and trigger the previous button click event (i.e. treating navigation like clicking the previous button).
Basics: I have a text box (txtDepositAmount) that people can enter a deposit amount into and a drop down (ddlSelectedTerm) that sets the terms. Through these two values I calculate the APY (lblCurrentApy).
Rules: If only one of the values is selected I still want to do an update on the current APY label and clear it. If either value changes I want to update the current APY and recalculate.
The problem: As soon as I click away from the textbox and onto the drop down to select my term the drop down flashes and closes because the textbox TextChanged event was just fired.
I have to click on the drop down a second time to be able to select anything!
Do I need to change what event I'm looking at or do I need to move some of the controls outside of the UpdatePanel? Can this only happen if some of the business rules change? Should I just give up and go to javascript?
I have a page books.aspx that has a control named authors.ascx.
Inside the authors control there is a "select" button I want to add some kind of listener or event handler (not sure of the correct terminology) so on the parent page (books.aspx) I can respond to the "select" button being clicked.
I have to pass the authorID from the user control to the parent page.
In my authors.ascx control I just created this event:
[Code]....
Now I need to write the function for SelectAuthorBtnClick and I think add some kind of listener in the parent page to listen and handle the event.
I have one Datagrid with Footer. Footer Row Contains Input fields with one Button to add New Values. I have button click event but not getting fires. my code follows:
i have an form with an button and some input controls. some time due to input problem i may get error after that if i refreshed the page then that time the button click event has fired, how to avoid this kind of bad event fire.
I have a textbox with autopostback=true and a button to save the data in the form. Functionality works fine when entering a value in the textbox, tabbing out of the textbox and clicking on the save button. But issue comes up when entering a value in the textbox and directly clicking on the save button without tabbing out of the text box. In the second scenario, only textchanged event fires and save click event dosen't fire. What I was expecting was after exection of textchanged event, save click event should also fire. But this is not happening.
I have a gridview called gvResults. In the gvResults_RowEditing event I add a row below the one selected. In that new row, which spans all columns, I insert a user-control. There are two buttons and some textboxes in the user control.
My problem is that when I click one of the user-control buttons it never gets to the button event handler, I think because the user control is not recreated on the page postback. How can I have the user-control events fire before the parent page events fire?
I tried using an update panel, but I still get the parent posting back before the user-control events.
in my web form i have a department dropdown box, in its selectedIndexChanged event i have to fill the equipment dropdown box and in equiment dropdown selectedIndexChanged i have to fill out the other textboxs.
the depratment dropdown box get its value from sqldatasource.
[code]....
what i want is when i run the page, it shows the very first deparment in the list, and according to that it should pop up the values in the other fields, means it should show the values in the equipment dropdownbox and from that one it should pop up the values in the other textbox.
here is my selected indexchanged event for department dropdownbox
When I click on the aspx Submit Button, the file selected in Silverlight control should be uploaded and after the completion of upload, the Server side event should get called.
I have searched around but unable to find a solution that will work. I have a link button that is created dynamically during the page load. It is given an ID (obviously). There is a script manager on the page. I have the controls added to a panel in the updatepanel (updatePanel1). There is a dynamic label that is also created with each link button. I can get a response from the linkbutton click event during a postback on the second time clicking the linkbutton, but I am getting a complete postback instead of the asyncpostback for that control. During the creation of the dynamic linkbuttons, I am also creating a dynamic trigger for each button and adding it to the updatePanel1. The Click event is not firing the method without doing a complete page postback.
I have a button which has a click event but its not firing on the first click. I suspect its something to do with that i am in dropdown box control so when i click the Button the event for the dropdown box occurs (textChanged) but it forgets about the click event
Of course if i click it a second time it works.
Or if i click somewhere else first so that the event TextChange occurs and then click the Button the first time it executes..
Is this normal and what are more workarounds if any?
basically the TextChange event must fire but the button click event must fire as well.
All the events i am talking about are ASP.NET events.
here is some examples of the events i am using - both the button and dropdown
uxGetData is a button and uxToDate is a dropdown box
i have two frames in a page. the fist one contains buttons the second one the form. i want to call an event from the second one after clicking a button in the first one ,
I am updateing my gridview using button click event but at the fisrt time it does not get updated first time but its works second time i dont know why . Dol u know how to genterate two button click event for the same button.Records never get updated on first button click event but its works on second button click event.
