I'm using the code below to extract data from a gridview and populate it into textboxes for the days and two drop downs for Project and Category.
For some rows in the gridview everything but the category ddl populates correctly. If I click the row a second time the category ddl displays the correct category.
why I have to click twice for some rows?

I have gridview. some columns are data, and some are link buttons. now, I need move these link buttons to a hovermenu. this is done. but I got a javascript exception, and it is because if there is no row was selected in gridview, it will pop this.
so, the question is: how can I select a row in gridview without select command? simply by code?

I need to select an item from the dropdown (which I can do) and then get the cost of it and then put the cost in the texbox item template of the gridview. So I think I need to pass the row number and cost_id of the selected item to a procedure to get the cost of the item. I have a query that looks like this attached to a sqldatasource :

and i want to make a LABEL to read that fldbaseline value and i tried this :

btw the @fldbranch is pulling from a dropdownlist and so it the @year but the @cat is just defined always as 'LEAN' But im not sure what to put inside the select() part. i know you have to put atasourceselectarguments.empty if no parameters, but what would I do here since their are 3?

Now the data in the dropdown is becoming too large. And customers have to scroll down a lot to get to a specific title. What I am trying to do is give links above the dropdown (A, B, C, ...., Z, 0, 1, ...., 9). When A is clicked the dropdown should select the first Title that begins with A and so on.

My problem is that no matter what the user selects in the 1st dropdown it resets itself to the first item in the list. I have autopostback=true and nableviewstate= true. The drop down list is used to determine what search criteria will be used to find an invoice. I tried to set the Select method in the switch statement. I don't understand how to set the Select Method and the select parameters programmatically though . I tried a few different ways but can't make the compiler happy. My ODS is in scope in the code behind. I'm not able to access it's properties though. The BAL resides in a separate project that is a ClassLibrary. I also have a using statement for the ClassLibrary project in the code behind.

Can any one let me know about the below issue. I have a page which has three labels, say startdate,enddate and username. My issue is if the user doesnot select any of the above three then a message gets displayed as "Please select one search criteria" or if the user doesnot enter the date in correct format then i dispaly "Please enter date in mm/dd/yy" format. But what is happening is first time if the user doesnot select any then "Please select one search criteria" is getting displayed and after this message gets displayed if the user enters wrong format of date then both the messages are displayed.

I have a drop down list with two options Score and status. On selecting score select score i display a MultihandleSliderExtender to select the score range ex: 10 to 20 and on selecting status i display dropdown list . On displaying one option i make the other as not visible.
Now comes the problem in Firefox (works properly in IE) when i select score and then try to change my option to status it does not allow me to do so i.e the mouse over event on the dropdownlist is not working.
I have a number of dropdown lists which are populated from a database. They load depending on what the previous dropdown selection was so for example if the system was car based and I had chosen Ford then the next dropdown list would populate all cars made only by Ford. What I'm wanting to do is add a select all to one of the dropdown lists. Does anyone know how this would be done?
